3/52 - 2 freebie samples used up. 1 in particular was a very generous amount and lasted ages.9 -
Thanks for tip re tesco vouchers @Baxtersmum
I didn't realise specsavers recycled glasses @Clutterbug07. Thanks for that as I have a pile waiting to go somewhere. Just in awe of your 'productivity'
Another bag out to the CS yesterday. DH has been chopping up logs in the garden so space is being made for plan to remodel this year. Working with him shortly.
Today I will also tidying in the bedroom of doom. It is actually mostly stuff to go now. e.g. a box of hangers and a bin liner of plastic bags.Nearly all the ornaments that I have removed from various shelves that were taken down and never put back up
I have mountains of clothes that I need to pare down too. I wear mostly the same stuff for the allotment and jeans and T shirt. I need 3 capsules wardrobes: first one for hols abroad with mates. I wear have clothes I only wear away with them. Then a spring/summer and Autumn /winter set. The rest can go back to the CS from where they came, mostly
I need the bedroom of doom cleared by next week as a child bed is coming so I can have little visitors as well as big ones.
Its quite handy to write what you need to do in this way sometimes. Crystallises the idea into proper plans
Anyway. Off to help DH in the garden. I am also chopping some stakes for my friends fence out of recycled tree while I am at it.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. stellata said:I decluttered an old jumper my daughters partner gave me for the dog, but not before Id cut the sleeves off to use as legwarmers. I look a right sight but my ankles are warm. Is anyone else terrified of the fuel bill rises? I just cant see how I'm ever going to be warm again if what they say is true. As it is, when I get home from work I put layers of fleecy things on and fluffy slippers, hoods, the lot. Its a good thing I live on my own. (13 things so far if you count the main part of the jumper even though I kept the sleeves).
At that point it felt rather ridiculous!

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks.
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedAs I am starting this post at 11:51, I will say Good Morning 🙂 even if it won’t get posted until later 😉
I have had a very restless night with weird dreams, so feel like a dishrag ☹️ Apparently my dreams ranged from begging my DH not to divorce me (yes I also talk in my sleep 😉) to asking why Russia don’t just take out a DD to invade Ukraine? 🤔 say what? Last night I completed task 4 for Saturday - transferred some decluttering notes from iPad to a notebook - find it easier to read a book than an electronic device 🙂 plus I get to practice my handwriting before I forget how 😉😉
Sunday is another overcast, grey day which, rather sadly, matches my current mood ☹️ I seem to remember a saying “Buck up & be a rabbit” so hoping that posting here will get me going 🤞
128 - 131 Kitchen recycling, newspaper, glass jar & metal lid, plastic bottle - recycled
132 Kitchen detritus binned

Trunk sold! I've just spotted another one, a large wicker one, out there too...will check with DS1's partner that they're not in need of one before getting shot of this one too. I've also just popped a couple of tiny heaters on the local Freecycle groups; they were given to us a long time ago, when the boiler broke down just before Christmas & parts couldn't be found until after the New Year. They've been used once in a while since, but the stove has rendered them redundant now.
Thank you for the encouragement, @Mrs_Salad_Dodger! I have a very long way yet to go... but I'll get there. Eventually!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)13 -
Good afternoon. You are all doing a fantastic job!
I have done absolutely nothing all week, I've never felt so poorly. Dd2 is on day 7 today and still testing positive. I'm on day 5 and still positive (only lost my senseof smell today), day 4 for DH, 1 for DS1+2 and day zero for DD3.
We have decuttered a massive amount of lft's, paracetamol and ibuprofen 🤣 and because the smell of everything made me feel sick, I've decluttered 4lb too.
I'm still extremely tired but hoping to get back to some decluttering tomorrow, even if it's just a small amount.
Keep up the good work, you're all doing amazing!LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSunday has been a quiet, lazy day. DH had a bath to get warm as I had turned the heating down 😉 It is on now 🙂 Saturday’s task 5 was emptying the fridge of old vegetables, prepping them for roasting whilst cooking full roast dinner. Roast pork with crackling, roast potatoes & parsnips, carrots, spinach & sautéed sprouts (with bacon & chestnuts).Have decided to cut myself some slack & not do any tasks for Sunday 😉 starting fresh with 5 tasks for Monday 🙂

charlies_tribe - don't overdo the decluttering though - get everyone well first. The clutter will wait for you - and even grow a bit more for you.
One of my roommates has found about 10 of the missing forks - in her bedroom. We were down to two forks for the other four of us. I gave her a deadline for 2:00 to get the dishes and tableware out - or I am coming in. She seems to hoard all of the dishes - she has at least 12 of our bowls in there.
5 boxes of religion books are on their way to church for the pastor to pass along if she can't use them. These were from the book sale on Friday. My goal is to get books to the people who want them, even if we don't make a lot of money. But we made more than half of what our library book store does in a month in just five hours, so we are doing pretty well with the sales. A couple of hundred books were passed along that had been thrown in the trash by the book store people (we fish them out of the bins in the library) and well over 200 DVDs and CDs sold. The two people who run the book store throw away any fiction book over 10 years old unless they consider it a classic. They once trashed a first edition Old Man and the Sea which even had its book jacket. I fished it out and gave it to my nephew who looks classic books - with a note added as to what it was so if he wants to sell it he can. The two of them give me nightmares with what they throw out. But we have rescued hundreds of books over the last few years - books in perfect shape by the way - just not a topic they like.12 -
I have bought a few bits over Christmas and the past couple of months, so have now gone through and set aside 4 pairs of shoes, 2 tops, 3 jumpers and 4 dresses. Had a clear out of bags a few months ago so none of those to donate. All things that I don't really wear any more.
Continued maintenance cleaning and decluttering.
And finally, stepped on the scales again and it is going down 😁 had a rough day on Friday and ordered a domino's so pleased that the scale has still gone down overall.
Keeping my eye on some stuff to start on the garden with, not much money at the moment so those will be considered purchases over the next couple of months (hopefully with some of the money we will be saving by not eating as much takeaway!)10 -
Brought 3 books from my Dad's but organised some of his books to pass on sometime, took some bulldog clips to him at the home to organise his appt letters. Threw out a few things at his and got specsavers to check prescriptions so know which of his glasses can be donated. Interested some of you have specsavers taking these, mine and his don't so looking for somewhere for them. I have pairs to pass on too.
4 bowls and packaging - all labelled
Laundry basked picked up
Finding the hassle of wrapping things to post abit of hassle if for limited pennies so using free sites, and remembered our local donation hub (for refugees/asylum seekers and people facing homelessness) is collecting suitcases and backpacks so going to pass at least one on, and maybe find things to go in it.
2 items from the other day in CS bag 205
items above now 2011
Been listening/watching podcasts/you tube on the link between stress, clutter and being overweight/emotional eating - all apply to me, helped me focus that it is up to me to change things and can't change past, need to make space for new.
Have letters/cards and stuff from relationships which when I get to them (could be next year at current rate) I will burn/bin - not as if they were so amazingly successful , rather focus on my current life.
Inspired by everyone here..
Sorry to hear about those poorly and wishing speedy recovery, and hope people have managed self care and spent at least some time in the TLC carriage x11
