Yay progress today!!I feel like I’ve joined the train proper…..spent some of the morning deep cleaning our bedroom and going through each drawer.
Had to take an enforced break to show the architect around sons house and then came home for a much needed warming bowl of soup.
Spent the afternoon carrying on deep cleaning, sorting and cleaning in the bedroom.
Finished for the day at about 7pm but I will need to sort and clean just 2 shelves and the floor of the last wardrobe tomorrow as I’d just run out of steam.
pleased to say that items have been decluttered.
some underwear has gone in the recycling rag bag - this goes to H&M and we get a £5 of £25 spend voucher.
2 jumpers, 1 pair of shoes and 3 pairs of boots have found their way into the Cash For Clothes bag.
1 necklace in bag to go as well
a few papers recycled and a small amount in the rubbish bin.
all in all very pleased.

Today i finally got a pension frog off my desk that's been sitting there since early November - forms completed & sent off recorded delivery, now need to patiently await the payments.
I also started chipping at a work frog of a similar age which will be attacked again tomorrow.

vulpix said:Hi ValentinoRossi Welcome and also Welcome to any one I may have missed.
I have been awol for a couple of days. I have the cold from Hell. I used a box of tissues this afternoon. I barely have a voice and am coughing like I smoke 60 Capstan Full Strength a day. My symptoms were all of omicom symptoms but I have had 2 clear lateral flow tests. I have done very, very little. I had a bath today and then had to lie down for the afternoon! I managed to lie on the sofa and cut up some spuds n carrots to make corned beef hash for Mr V's dinner. Sum total of my activitySorry you've been poorly Vulpix, and well done for doing anything at all today!!Have u tried booking a PCR test? I had covid in November and my lateral flows were negative but my pcr was positive :-s I think once u have symptoms weirdly the lateral flows sometimes dont always pick it up. Worth a go to know for definite! Not sure If we're allowed to talk much about covid, so I'll also mention that I declutter a bit on Saturday by hanging 2 pictures on the wall- much better than leaning against the wall! And put two old sports bras in for clothing recycling. 😁Jan Grocery Challenge 2023: £181.18/£400

Feeling guilty, as I had a massage this morning then did very little for rest of day even had a bit of a nap mid afternoon!! I did throw away some wires and 2 of those broadband boxes you get each time you defect to a new supplier.
also checked bank accounts and paid an insurance. It’s been very cold and being wrapped up warm seemed a good idea. Tomorrow is looking slightly better so hoping to get some washing out, then a walk .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.12 -
Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:Excellent decluttering StickyTheStickInsect 👏 regardless of the 3 loft boxes 😉 Very impressed with the work you have already done re the storage unit 👏 You are on a roll 🙂Great news that Vint*d is proving more lucrative than bay of e 👏🙂 Is that a 2nd gold star or confirmation of the gold star from wort?Thank you 🙂
I got DH to put two of the dining table boxes back in the loft and I’ll try and get to them at the weekend, constantly moving them was driving me mad and bitey bitey cat likes to eat boxes (amongst many other weird things), so they wouldn’t have survived the week ! She’s currently taking out her frustration on fat cat by hiding her toys 🤦♀️Absolutely a 2nd gold star ⭐️ and most deserved too !2025 Decluttering Campaign Mrs SD –The joy of decluttering 45.5/104⭐️

Do you have any suggestions for when you live with people who absolutely won't clean up - 4 of them? I'd like to join you but it is hopeless. I am decluttering my stuff, but I can't get them to do anything.14

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks.
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedMonday has been a dark & dreary day with some drizzle ☹️ DH had an appointment for a scan of his heart (a bit like a baby scan). DSis has done her washing & drying & folding. I on the other hand have stayed in torporville. Of the 9 tasks on my To Do list I have done 3 so Tuesday’s list is 11 😔 I need to try harder 😉 I made a Stilton & potato soup replacing the celery (had none) with some celeriac from the veg box 🤤- that is ounch sorted for a few days 👏 Dinner was the lo mushroom risotto, shaped into cakes & breadcrumbed then shallow fried with some fried chicken 😋 Small portion of risotto bagged & frozen. Wudupa.

Ooh wort - a massage 💆 Absolutely no need to feel guilty as you did manage some decluttering 👏 and to be honest I approve of personal TLC 😊
Good work on protecting your boxes StickyTheStickInsect 😉👏 Bitey bitey cat sounds like a bit of a devil 😈 😉 Thank you for my Gold Star ⭐️ 👏
weenancyinAmerica, the only thing I can suggest is withdrawing your labour - no cooking for the lazy ones, they can do their own washing & you have one room which is totally yours & if anyone else puts any of their items in your room you bin it 😉 Can you call a family meeting explaining how unhappy you are & why - then give them a list of the new house rules to follow. However, regardless of that I am welcoming you aboard The EDT 👋 - you need a place to talk or vent (within the Forum rules) & there may be many more suggestions and practical solutions to getting your 4 to help out 😉 The buffet car & TLC Carriage are always open so do pop in 🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️

@weenancyinAmerica, give them a warning and a timescale, maybe a week, stamp your foot them put anything left lying around in the bin. I saw a tv programme once where a teenager would not put his computer games away, they were strewn all over the living area. Dad eventually got so mad he threw some on the lawn and ran the lawn mower over them. The teenager did have a meltdown but he quickly tidied the rest away before Dad came in for the next lot.
I thought it was a bit drastic but it seemed to work
Would something like that work for you?
Take care everyone11 -
It is hard getting others on board with decluttering. I would give a time limit on things and then get rid of it. Or put all their clutter in their rooms and close a door on it all.
96-105 broken seed trays in the skip.
105 bag of metal bits found in the garden in the skip.
106 seed catalogue recycled.
Working today so may be less done.12
