Little bits done 6 more bags to the bin/recycling, 6 more tubs of soil emptied into the tree tubs. My coat was dry so I've hung it up (didn't want to hang it next to my other clothes when it was wet). DS3 put the bins out for collection last night. Don't know if it's my flu and COVID jabs, being out in the cold air or just spending too long on my feet but the bug that keeps on giving is back again - coughing my head off and I'm whistling when I breathe (oh joy). I've been downstairs since early morning as I didn't know when the brickie was coming for the money to buy bricks, sand and cement. By the time Mrs Builder sent a message to say he'd be here after 5 pm, I didn't feel up to hauling myself back upstairs.
I've processed 3 loads of washing (mostly rinsed, wrung or refreshed - 14 minute cycle) and now have quite a few clothes and a couple of bath sheets hanging up around the house (brought all the stuff that was outside in on Sunday but didn't get to deal with it). I prioritised clean clothes over food and had takeaway bacon barms and a hot chocolate this morning - so good and just what I needed (didn't have stuff in to make it but have had tinned soup since). I'm planning on a couple of easy days so that I'll be as well as possible to meet DS1 and darling d-i-l for a meal on Saturday. Think looking round the Christmas Market might be overambitious but my alternative is to find a quiet corner to have hot chocolate and toasted teacakes and then ride around on the free City Centre bus to see the lights and festive window displays before meeting up later. Will do numbers later - keep remembering odd little jobs accomplished.
Just had a shower, tucked up warm under the blankets and will read and doze.9 -

Plans for DS' birthday celebrations have reduced from a City Break to Prague to a day up in Town on Friday. DS is completely understanding and doesn't appear to be too disappointed. Went out and bought him much needed new clothes as I won't be spending anywhere near as much.
I was due to be off work now until after my op but since we're not going away I've squeezed in a few clients tomorrow morning.
914 - filled and trimmed gaps in mortar around front door (bodge job but it'll do the trick)

@wort and @florianatwobob, I did have a look on line and some sledges like my brother's go for a lot - but in good condition, a few hours tlc to get rid of the rust on the runners etc and restore the wood. I have put for sale along with mine which was smaller and red so not so cool. Nice if they go to a good home.
DB stayed last night and we were looking at where I might put things from our dad's. He popped his head in the front room (and is very much a front room that we don't use but would love to) and said, not sure you can get anything more in here, it's very cosy! Also pointed out I have a welsh dresser which is his - was in his bedroom as a child but when our parents moved he wasn't in a position to take it so I've had it and enjoyed it, so he would like it but has no where to put it. I think we'll work things out. Hoping on Friday to visit a charity where they support people to learn to restore furniture as a way back into work. Hoping they may do my things or some of them.13 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWednesday was another dry & chilly day. Another lazy day for me - knitting & watching TV. I now have 4 pairs of wrist warmers to sew up & just one more pair to knit 🙂 Dinner was sliced beef (from freezer) in gravy, mash, carrots , spring greens & cabbage 😋 DH had a bath & went to bed early. He is going to the Bike Show at Birmingham NEC. He has managed to get very cheap train tickets but only for a specific train time 🙂 Wudupa.2007 - 2009 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard packaging - recycled2010 Kitchen detritus binnedVery supportive post TC77 😊
Loving the chat about the Tyne River God 👏
Wishing you a painless ‘dental frog’ bit_by_bit. Good luck with your tidying 🍀
Lovely post florianatwobob 😊
Great reminder re excess furniture wort 👏 I’m just wondering if the vintage sledge has a well known name 😉😉
ruby_eskimo, your decluttering must be going well if you can have guests for the weekends 😊 I barely let anyone in the front door if I can help it 😉 Well done on your one out, one in policy - especially moving from quantity TO quality 👏 Everything crossed that it is the outflow pipe causing the problem with the washing machine 🤞🤞
Great work oceanspirit especially your persistence in dealing with frogs 👏 I agree with x_raphael_xx - thanking your coat for its sterling service is the way to ease the sadness 🙂
Well said x_raphael_xx 👏
So sorry to hear that your recovery was not as advanced as you thought roundtuit 🙁 You could have done without the added stress of not being contacted by the doctor 😔 However, well done on arranging a counselling session so swiftly 😊 Mozzarella burgers sound delicious 😋
So sorry that the bug that keeps on giving is still giving grandmanerd 😔 TLC is definitely the order of the next couple of days 😊 Puts the headache I had after the flu jab into perspective. Please keep hydrated & warm 🙏
EnergyShifter, pleased to hear that you are on the mend ❤️🩹 Hope you have a lovely day with DS & that the weather is kind 🤞 Please have a restful weekend to build up your energy levels ready for your operation 🙏 Excellent decluttering 👏
Nice to hear that you & DB are working things out re your Dad’s ‘stuff’, TC77 🙂 What a brilliant idea for a charity 🥳 teaching people a wonderful skill & helping them get back into work 👏 Love the idea of more Will Kirk’s in the world 😊

Morning All, my major decluttering challenge today is getting through the laundry (6 bin bags) from the mouldy drawers. I will be using the tumble drier as rain forecast and hiding when the bill comes in. Plus fed up of tripping over the bags in the kitchen.

I had to declutter a lovely little watch this week. Beyond repair. Did some washing today and have put the jeans into the dryer to warm the house. Other bits put in the covered electric dryer. Cleaned the coffee machine because it told me to
Scrubbed the york stone flags at the bottom of the garden and rinsed them off with free water. Just need to do the side path. Clever soda crystals and so cheap to do the job too with a good cardiac workout for the day.
We had a panic last week re the tumble dryer as it heated the house (bungalow) very efficiently but not in a healthy way, I panicked thinking of many pennies that may have needed to be spent. We went right through it cleaning everything and it seems to be a lot happier now, phew declutter averted.
Helped DH with his frog of a telephone interview re his health which had previously been done in Feb and nothing done with it. Fortunately, it was the same person who had done the first and who has just conducted the "reassessment" with a common-sense approach.
I hope it's easy to get some euro's as am away on monday for a week with the "girls" some winter sun, it is so needed right now. DH declined to come as he said 1 wife is enough and it would be like having 3 wittering on
I know that pile of ironing is still peering or even sneering at me right now and it needs to be gone by Sunday I really couldn't leave it outstanding. I might even find some clothes I need to take. Am tempted to take some old stuff and not bring it back.
Stay safe and warm all

Dropped 4 big bags off at charity shop this morning. Glad it’s out of the house.10

Taken tomorrow as leave (decluttering holiday) so had to work late tonight. Hopefully sorting a few things in house in the morning and then going to charity furniture restoration to find out more what they do (must call first to check open) then meeting a friend. B Gas yesterday and today - new thermostats but soooo embarrassed by state of the house - unfortunately DD2's bedroom and our airing room which she uses as a study. Had to move things to get to the sofa. Luckily soda bicarb got rid of the cat wee in DD2 bedroom. A few more things posted/reposted on free sites and put sledges on another website.10
