Ordered repeat prescriptions, email chasing money owed and arranged driving lesson for DD2

2 bags of in and outs the CS yesterday (Their own stuff I was storing)
Dh and I fixed the hole in FiL bedroom made by DS2 last week as he fell through. I cleaned the floors after. That room hasn't been cleaned since they moved back in 10 years ago after and extension build. At least not the underbed and corners. MiL not one for cleaning and neither is FiL
A new day tomorrow filled with cleaning and the allotment. BiL and SiL down from Manchester for the week. We will be doing tea for them a few evenings including tomorrow night.

Help. How do you switch it off?
I'm laid in bed, mentally going through the remaining contents of the box: bin, bin, cs, keep - was going to buy one don't have to now, drawer, drawer, file.
It's good that the decluttering dragon has woken up, but Tigger-mode has woken up too and I need to sleep.
This is not good 😐

Oops 🙊 Memory like a sieve 😉 Saturday did nothing apart from make dinner & wudupa. Dinner was fried chicken, mash, sweetcorn & peas. DH stayed up to watch the MotoGP races in Australia.
Sunday was a showery day. DH popped to sm to get soft drinks & my magazine - ended up buying biscuits as well - so much for his intention of losing weight by Christmas 😅 I actually got around to doing some housework today, as well as 3 x 5 minute stints of weeding front path 😉 I cleaned the cloakroom top to bottom including washing down skirting board, door (both sides), tile grouting & radiator & scrubbing the toilet & sink + cleaning window, mirror & picture. Also tidied up the dining room table. In between times I watched several episodes of the Pam Ayers tour of the Cotswolds 🙂 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes. Then a lovely surprise - a knock at the door & there was my DB - sadly on his own (he, his wife & 2 sons are staying with friends the other side of London). They arrived yesterday & his DW has planned lots of excursions - museums etc. so unlikely we will get a visit as they are driving back next weekend. DB stayed for about an hour & the four of us chatted & caught up. Gave DB his DW’s debit card which arrived yesterday & in return he gave us 3 birthday cards & a Christmas card (saves postage 😉) + a box of chocolates from his in-laws 🙂 The in-laws are off on a 4 month cruise from 26th October. It was so lovely to see DB 😊 Fortunately the rain had stopped by the time he headed off to the DLR station 👏 DSis & I watched SCD + the results show. Nearly all the celebrities had drunk some sort of ‘dancing potion’ as it was an excellent show & my favourite was top of the table 🥳 Wudupa.
1708 - 1714 Kitchen recycling x 2, cardboard packaging x 2, drinks cans x 2, plastic lid - recycled
1715 - 1719 Kitchen detritus x 2, lr detritus, plastic packaging, lots of wipes - binned
Nice to see you oceanspirit 👋 Every item out is a win 👏 Sending positive vibes to help you get started on your plan 😊
Good work TC77 👏
Oh fiddlesticks GrannyKate 😔 Sorry to hear that the water damage is worse than expected 🙁 Also very annoyed (on your behalf) 😠 about the very shoddy treatment from your phone/internet provider 😠 Good decluttering 👏
vulpix, how cute ☺️ All my hopes dashed then re the culvert ‘bones’ 😂 but at least I have the photo of the autumn colours to look forward to 😀 It is always so lovely when we can make new friends ☺️ Really looking forward to seeing next years photos of your ‘wild garden’ 🙂 Good luck with using up craft supplies 🍀 Hopefully you will find something to wear - perhaps look at it as ‘shopping from your wardrobe’ 😉
GrannyKate, Not sure whether or not to be pleased that the new leak is unconnected to the toilet problems 🤔 Good luck with the competition entries 🍀
TC77, Your mention of jewellery reminded me to check up on the rather nice jewellery shop I normally use - need to get DH’s wedding ring re-sized & want to get anniversary 50p put on a chain. Sob, sob - they closed last year 😭 Sadly I am not really a fan of Hatton Garden but if you could share the recommendation I can investigate 🙏 Sorry to hear that your Lincolnshire trip might be off/delayed 🙁
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 You socialite 😉 Hopefully booking hotels at the last minute will result in some bargains 🤞
Oh dear QueenJess never rains but it pours 😔 Sending get well wishes for DD & DS + sending Mr Sandman as you need him more than I do 😉 Good luck with your To Do list 🍀 Excellent decluttering 👏
Yippee roundtuit - tackling a box from the RoD 🥳 Sorry I wasn’t about to hand hold but it rather looks like you have tackled your fear/trepidation very successfully 👏 Excellent decluttering & what a treasure to find - your missing secateurs 🥳 👏 I am so impressed with your hard work that I am sending you a Gold Star ⭐️
Well done on answering back fritzie-65 👏 The siren call of a box from the room of doom 😉 No doubt the other 2 boxes will start calling as well 🙂
Well done on using up/passing on craft stuff, vulpix 👏 I really must get my knitting needles out 😉
Great work florianatwobob 👏
Excellent work Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏 Way too big is a better reason for returning a dress than it being way too small 😉
TC77, fingers crossed that the email chasing money owed does the trick 🤞
bit_by_bit, good work on repairing FiL’s bedroom ceiling 👏 & well done on the cleaning
I feel your pain roundtuit 😞 I couldn’t sleep Saturday night worrying about all the many tasks on my To Do list 😔 When I did get to sleep apparently I was sleep talking - sadly I never say anything useful but DH gets the benefit of weird & wonderful comments/questions from me 😂 At least I haven’t got quite so bad as sleep walking (which I did a couple of times in my early teens 😱 I will try to persuade Mr Sandman to visit you after he has visited QueenJess 🤞

A gold star ⭐ . Thank you 😊.
I'm striking while the iron is hot - should be easy since I spent half the night making all the decisions!!!
2 opened packs balloons - bin (they're 19 years old. I don't need balloons. And I'm loathe to give them to anyone - here, have these: they might pop in your face while you're blowing them up but you're welcome. 💥 Nope. Bin.
1 radio without batteries (never used) - cs
1 radio with batteries (never used) - it works! Keep. Serendipity. With all the talk of power cuts this winter I was going to buy one. That's money in my pocket 😊
4 village church magazines 1999/2000 - file. My first published poems - including the only copy I have of my first ever poem. I'm hoping that others wil be (re)discovered as I go through boxes, and bags, and more boxes.. yes. I'm serious.
2 glass guardian angels with verse in lid - bedroom windowsill. Packaging recycled / binned as appropriate
2 candles - in tin with other candles. Box recycled.
Paperweight- an old friend - now on side table
Wind chime - was going in to cs pile but I've untangled it and it's quite nice, and it has owls on it (which will be why someone bought me it in the first place.) Not sure where to put it - but it's a keep for now.
I need another brew. And I suppose breakfast and getting dressed is necessary.

I decluttered the humidifier as it has dried really fast now old flooring is up. Waiting now someone to talk about replacement and decorating. December trip with DD extended by 2 days as her work have asked her to do presentation in place where we are flying home from - pure coincidence - so we are staying an extra 2 days and I can wander round whilst she is working.
1165 De-humidifer decluttered
1166 Loads of emails cleared, filed, junk bins emptied etc
1167 Caught up on competitions
1168 Cleared out fridge and threw away some stuff of DS2s.
1169 Cards posted
1170/71 Two items from DS2's stuff sold on e**y and parcelled and posted off
A few things on this week. History group (I've done my homework), a walk starting in my village so I can walk to the start, hairdresser, neighbour's funeral and science group - so quite busy. DD and GD1 are staying one night on their way to look at horses to buy for GD1. She told her mother the 3 they were seeing were all quite close to their home in Midlands - one in North Yorkshire, one in Surrey and one in South Wales. Not exactly close to home.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

That's me showered, hair washed, wearing all clean clothes. Worn clothes in laundry hamper. Towels, tea towels and cleaning cloths swishing in WM.
Back to the box 😊
3 church magazines dated 1998 / 1999 - containing my first published prose. The timing is interesting. I had my breakdown in March 1998 and discovered my muse while reassembling myself - file.
Hmmm - laminated card: 'Never fear shadows, they simply mean that there is a light shining somewhere.' Still appropriate today. I need to frame that and have it stood on my bedside cabinet (if I ever find it! It's still in flat pack mode but where? Absolutely no idea. It'll be a nice surprise when I find it) - file
1 unused Blistex stick - bin. It's 19 years old. Bin it!!!!
Sellotape- kitchen drawer
Pack of tissues - kitchen drawer
Picture hanging kit - kitchen drawer
Wooden die with Bible quotes - now on side table
Christmas label & tie (unused) - add to stash
Sewing by DS at Primary School - in cupboard with the rest ( to be sorted at a later date)
Empty film tub with lid with DS name on it ???? / Folded tissue in small bag = 7 x DS's milk teeth now in tub. Tissue and bag binned
Tub of paperclips - stationery cupboard
Hmmm videos. 🤔. I do still have a video player sat under the telly. Wonder if it can be connected up, and if it can, will it work? My To Do list keeps growing! Complete set of Jesus of Nazareth (Robert Powell) to be kept until I find out. The Miracle Maker? Hmmm 🤔. Nope- video in bin, book in cs bag, plastic case and cardboard outer recycled.
I can see the bottom of the box.
Feeling a bit nauseous again. Going to stop and have a coffee. Join me?

I am with you roundtuit, joining you with a coffee. Make the most of your mojo, you are discovering buried treasures. The more you do,the easier it gets I find.
Mr V has also got the bug,he is emptying the half shed.He says he is making 3 piles.Tip,keep and sell. It has only taken 14 years but my decluttering influence has finally rubbed off. I am not complaining but he only sorted that shed a few weeks ago. I want a mirror hanging and a picture moving later too. he has never been so busy since he retired.
I am waiting a while till the ground has dried,I need to sweep the yard. leaves are starting to fall. A little bit of plant pot maintenance is in order too. Atm 3 pairs of black jeans are being dyed black in the washing machine. New jeans for £6 woohoo.
Your post reminded me grannykate, a dehumidifier went the other day with bit by bit. Every time I revisit somewhere I find more to go. There are only a couple of things that I regret getting rid of but they weren't essentials. One was a vase but I have nowhere for ornaments here anyway, but I did like it!
An old school friend is coming to visit tomorrow so I want the place to look nice, well as nice as it can with the grim bathroom and kitchen. I need to get on then.

Cheers vulpix xx ☕
P&S called for a coffee. P&S left bearing gifts: a pair of boot laces and an envelope labelled 'bunkbed' full of screws and dowel. That's two more things out of the box 😊
Only 6 things left in there now:
Sellotape - kitchen drawer
Batteries ( corroded) - recycled / cardboard recycled
Dennis the Menace kid's camera with instructions - to be kept to see if the key to open it surfaces - at DS's request. The top drawer of the desk in Room of Doom is empty - I looked yesterday. Camera can go in there for now.
Headphones - cable drawer
Christmas decorations painting set- the paints have solidified. Paints / acrylic sheets/ threads/ plastic bag - binned. Instructions & paper patterns recycled. Paint brush - kitchen drawer
And that leaves a corner shaped shelf / wall ornament featuring an owl - not sure about that. It can go in RoD 2 for now. Don't want to lose momentum.
The box is empty. I'm going to empty the second of the desk drawers into it and bring the contents down to go through.
I'm on a roll or is it a role?
RxxIT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme9 -
Second desk drawer emptied into box. Managed a peep into the third / bottom drawer- only a ream of paper in that one.
I have absolutely no idea what an ipod nano is but there is now one in my box - that's one for DS then 😉
BT Hub card - not current, I checked - cut up and binned
UCAS card - DS
1 chunky Thomas Tank Engine toy - put to one side for possible future grandchild. Won't be able to keep all the toys but going to keep a select few and DS has said the rest can go to cs.
2 cables - cable drawer
Football Trivia game - DS
4 dead pens - binned
3 batteries - recycled
