I will empty the boot for tomorrow @vulpix
Looking forward to seeing you.
Thankyou @Mrs_Salad_Dodger . I got the stick to it thing from you as one of your mantras a few years go. To break the doldrums usually starts with the performance of one small task: sorting out a bag or pile of stuff. Add that you can do anything for five minutes. My thing was getting in contact with my brother who I hadn't spoken to for months and then found it hard to get started. I texted him. Usually what follows this sort of glum period is a period of activity. Also we all need stop moments to gather ourselves.
@weenancyinAmerica . I am in agreement with everyone about self care. You can drag a horse to water but you can't make them drink. So do what you can with your room mates but don't kill yourself doing it.
Today I am off to the plot, the post office and out this evening with a group of friends. We are meeting in one of our houses to eat and do crafts. I am taking the blanket which requires edgeing and tying in of the loose threads. Another two nights of work at least as it will take an hour each time I go round the edge.
Hugs to those who need them. Have a good day all.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. @vulpix... I think I can fit in less than 15% of my clothes and a third of this not comfortably! Gradually expanded helped by working at home and near the fridge. I refuse to buy new trousers and skirts and have a big birthday next spring - keep saying will get rid if don't fit in 6 months and then extending it but now have a focus. I like the clothes that don't fit and not very keen on those that do! Except 2 dresses bought for party this weekend.
Next year I may count net things out as still bringing things in.. and little physical clutter out. Accepted that the next few months are about helping DD2 declutter her stress, get on top of finance and admin. Decorator (multi skilled hopefully) arriving to do outside sills and some pointing, then back late Nov for kitchen and family area which I will have to sort then.
More calls to B*Bank - 30 mins and more bad information given to me, and they cancelled my appointment in branch
Have emptied a folder from my dad's house and have bag of folders and files for the young people's donation hub so taking them tomorrow, and some jars etc for the other donation hub. Car passed MOT so a frog done. I think nos did encourage a focus on physical declutter so may start for Nov/ Dec and set a target of 200 physical items for the two months.
@bit_by_bit like the idea of eating and doing crafts round friends. used to have a friend who would come round and we'd knit or sew (basic for me).
Hope everyone is being kind to themselves .9 -

TC77 - I can totally relate to the WFH / Fridge challenge. I put on half a stone in my first winter of working from home. I remember when lockdown started someone asking for advice about working from home and the first thing that came to mind was "get a lock for the fridge". I've been doing it for 7 years now and it did eventually settle. down (most days)

Thursday was a mixed day - overcast & dry then overcast & wet with the odd spell of sunshine. I phoned plumber who answered promptly with his first words being an apology & a promise to call back later 😉 Guess what…….he forgot again. He is an excellent plumber (came out next morning after a late evening call re smelling gas 👏) but as a one man band he is always busy & a bit forgetful re calling back 😉 My door to door chap turned up today (part of one those rehab offender programmes) We had a nice chat (he has 2 daughters one about 6 yrs & the other 3 months) & I bought one item. Wrote a shopping list for DH & whilst he was out I made soup from the bits retrieved from the freezer & then peeled & roasted lots of on the turn vegetables which are now bagged & in the freezer. I have also put away the new vegetables & have a vague menu plan. Btw weighed the hg potatoes - 1.6kg 😔 Dinner was ham, eggs, baked beans & oven chips for DH & DSis. Just a very few chips, a spoonful of baked beans with an egg & some of the roasted vegetables for me. Wudupa.
Friday is a very overcast day. I have phoned plumber who has booked me in for Monday - squeezing me in as in his words “he has messed me about”. Timing is pretty fluid but a good plumber is hard to come by 😉🙂 DH is taking DSis to an hospital appointment today so everyone is up & dressed.
1692 - 1696 Kitchen & bathroom recycling, plastic bottle, cardboard box, drinks cans - recycled

Great work EnergyShifter 👏 Hope you sort out the last arrangements for the baptism easily & that DS is sparing in his requests for your assistance 😉
grandmanerd, not too sure that I can agree with “not too much done” You have been busy not only coping with the leak in the kitchen & attendant problems but also sorting out masses of paperwork 👏 Good luck with the hospital visit 🍀
bit_by_bit, my memory is definitely getting worse 😉 I think I need to review my mantras & put the ‘stick to it’ mantra back in 🙂 Another busy day for you 👏 Enjoy your crafting evening 😊
TC77, sounds like a stressful time for your DD2 😔 I am sending positive vibes that with your help 2023 will be a better year 🤗 Re B*bank, I think it might be time for a mega complaint letter - there is absolutely no excuse for not only wasting your time but also cancelling your face to face appointment 😖 Great decluttering especially decluttering the stress of an MOT 👏 Hopefully you can revive the evening of crafting with your friend 🤞Nice to see your DD2 is treating herself 🙂
Yippee to a day off work EnergyShifter 🥳 I did smile at your comment “least dramatic conversion/reversion ever - it’s taken me almost 30 years to make my mind up” 🙂 The bonus from that is that no-one can accuse you of being a flibbertigibbet 😉 (love that word 😂) Excellent decluttering 👏 You made me smile for a 2nd time re “get a lock for the fridge” to forestall weight gain 😉 My problem is I need to lock all the kitchen cupboards as well 😔

Hello all, been MIA but decluttering slowly behind the scenes, or rather DH has 😲 His haul yesterday:-
A Playstation 3, which has given up the ghost. We're very sad about it but it had given us many years of enjoyment. DH did try to revive it, but it no joy. 😥
36 PS games to cs bag as we have nothing to play them on now.
6 magazines to recycling
Broken headphones.
Broken calculator.
Cables for something (?) we no longer have.
Camera case with a broken zip
Floppy disc
Computer disc
Small cardboard box
Large cardboard box which contained new radiator.
Old car radiator (replaced by DH and friend) now waiting for scrappy man.
An overgrown conifer has been decluttered, DH attacked it with a saw and now only about 8 ft of trunk remains. I thought he was just going to tidy it up, but seems he got carried away 🤣 I managed to fill 2 green waste bins with the chopped up branches before it rained. Will cut down the trunk when the weather gets better as we've had rain every day since we started.
I've spent a few £'s on presents for my Dad and DGD who both have birthdays within 6 days of each other 🤔 I also decluttered some bars of fudge to DD as she has covid (2nd time) just to cheer her up a bit. Oh, and I've just finished another jigsaw so I'm ready for my next one now 🤗
Sorry for the long post. Hope everyone is well, hugs coming your way if in need.
Take care all, stay safe.

DS has booked his accommodation for his week in Madrid which is a relief as he was taking his time. It's the first time he's been away on his own since he got ill. He does seem so well these days though 🙏
880. Root decluttered at the dentist
881. Worked out how to use a scheduling app with help from a lovely colleague.
Ha! Mrs SD - I love "flibbertigibbet" too ! I've now got that song "How do you solve a problem like Maria" (Sound of Music) going around in my head

No other decluttering to report today and probably not over the weekend.
Have a good one guys.

Friday stayed overcast all day with a few short, light showers. DH took DSis to her hospital appointment for a diabetes eye health check. I finally got around to taking 2 large bags of DSis’s clothing to British Red Cross cs in Lewisham (made my day that the chap who accepted the bags was so pleased 😃) Spent 15 minutes looking around - spotted a really nice dress only to be disappointed as it was Small 😔 & sadly I am not 😂 Combined with getting cash from an ATM & buying a wedding card & christening card from Cards Direct - great choice & superb prices. I also treated myself to a 2023 Calendar (Kitchen Organiser & Meal Planner 😉) + a diary (£3.08 for the 2 🥳). Arrived home about 10 minutes before DH & DSis (having gone out 40 minutes earlier than them). Dinner was pork steaks, mash, cabbage & mixed frozen vegetables. Wudupa. DSis & I thoroughly enjoyed Graham Norton’s show especially when the guests just chatted amongst themselves & ignored Graham 🤣

Yippee to being Covid free florianatwobob 🥳 Practice will make delivering the training sessions less tiring 🤞
nannywindow, nothing amiss with counting DH’s decluttering 😉 between you over 50 items/tasks decluttered 👏 Excellent work 👏 I am sending your DH a Gold Star ⭐️ Poor DD - 2nd bout of Covid 🤒 hope she can taste the fudge 🤞
EnergyShifter well done on having a relaxing day & more importantly finding replacement shoes at such a good price 👏 Good wishes to DS that he has a lovely holiday in Madrid 😊 Sounds like you are becoming a bit of a techie 😉 Now you’ve done it - the song is now lodged in my head 😂
bit_by_bit, Loving that you & vulpix are now RL friends 😊 Hope you have a relaxing weekend 🤞
