Arrived home in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Just two items clothing decluttered this week. Hoping for more things to go this weekend. Will report back tomorrow evening.
Finding it difficult to get going as there seems so much to do still, however made a plan last night so need to find the energy today to get started.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅8 -
Just decluttered a fleece while in a shop trying on a jumper! I thought I wasn't keen on it but since someone clearly wanted it then nostalgia about its cosiness is strong.
Have discovered jewellery and clothes I like so keen to declutter so they are at hand8 -
Checking in although surrounded by chaos and mess - not sure where to start. They finally came Friday to lift up floors - water had spread more than I expected as there was plastic underlay and water had run between that and concrete in all directions. Hall and bathroom completely cleared of flooring and kitchen partially cleared. Moving large fridge to get behind was a real issue. One area of kitchen is wet under units which are sitting on the flooring they are removing. Not sure how they are going to handle that. It took about 5 hours although he took a lot of breaks. I shut house to collect children from school then took them for tea at BK. When we came back the whole house stunk. Just me over the weekend so I am going to open all the windows, put some warm clothes on and try and put stuff away where I can. Someone coming Monday to check where there is water.
Unsurprisingly internet/phone provider has failed to get back to me concerning why I cannot access my account. That's another week gone by. Neither have I received the promised info in the post.

Good Morning. I am typing with one finger as a cat is asleep on my left arm. I don't know who is dafter, him for sleeping in an uncomfortable place or me for being uncomfortable so as not to disturb him. Initially I wrote Goof Morning, probably apt.
Thank you for my gold star mrs SD. Work continues on the old culvert that goes under the road and feeds the canal. Bit by bit and I walked past yesterday and admired the pile of sticks, bones and Victorian bottles and pottery from Friday. The culvert is uncovered on part of it's journey from a reservoir about 4 miles away and the bones are quite chunky,I think a cow or horses bones have found their way into the water. Lovely photos btw. I will post a pic of the wood when it is in full Autumn colour. I think this year is going to be particularly colourful because we had such a dry summer.
It is a lovely thing that Bit by bit and I have become firm friends through this thread. We have so much to talk about that we never have enough time when we meet. I am sure that you are all just as lovely and we would all enjoy each others company in real life. Confession, we went in a chazzer and I acquired a jumper that I didn't need but like.
A pile of stuff left yesterday for Bit by bits chazzer and bra collection plus a massive plastic plant pot which I am pleased has found a new home. DD2 also had a rummage and snaffled a bag full of Christmas decorations. There is still a lot of stuff on the old lane to dispose of. About half a dozen pallets,Victorian rope top edging, stable pavers, about 2 tons of stone, 8 paving slabs. That is a job for the whole of next summer. I will spread my garden onto the disused Lane. I say garden,I just intend to tidy it up and perhaps have some seats up there. I do have a young Hazelnut tree in a pot which I will plant out, but other than that it will just be wild.
For the foreseeable future I will concentrate on using up craft supplies. Atm I am making pumpkins from scraps of velvet. Next, knit some more slippers for my Mum. Clothes will be on my agenda. I too only wear a fraction of what I have, same for shoes. We are being taken out for dinner by our old boss and I just don't have a thing to wear!
Energy Shifter, enjoy Sunday.
Granny Kate, what a royal pain in the neck. Was it you that had all the toilet problems? If so is the leak connected?
Have a lovely weekend chums

Hi @Vulpix - yea I had problems with toilet, pump, tap etc etc. Plumbing is a nightmare this last couple of years. This is a complete new leak - suspect it had been dripping a while then suddenly started spraying water around. I have at last got dressed (only 11.55) opened all the windows and started pottering about. I did catch up on all my competition entries and put some clothes away but not much else so far.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

@GrannyKate so sorry, sounds a real horror, hassle and stuff you just don't need..
Went to my.local.bring and fix and left a necklace that a lovely lady says she will fix and a suggestion of somewhere in Hatton garden to ask about other things including ring from I think granny and I've had for at least 20 years and not got adjusted so I can wear it and other things repaired. So more on my to do list!
Collected stress by finding no trains from lewisham, lots of people actually working in hi viz jackets so not sure I'll get my big train to Lincolnshire:(7 -

Been an awful week sleep wise and still feeling awful. DD has got a bit better, but then DS was ill. Really hoping to try and catch up some sleep in the next week or so. I’m also trying to very slowly tackle my huge to do list. I did get a flu jab and @Mrs_Salad_Dodger will be pleased to hear I booked my opticians appointment for next week.
As the house is being slowly tidied again, things are naturally leaving the house. I also took the opportunity to take my laptop bag back to work when I went earlier in the week as I don’t use it and it’s cluttering up my cupboard.
I will probably declutter Ds’s things with him in the half term in anticipation of Xmas and bday presents coming in. Will only do DD’s room once she needs her new size of clothes to go in (in the next month or so maybe?). Need to sort out the to do list before I start to think about decluttering again. If I get under control, I might clear out a shelf/drawer per day or something. Otherwise I’m just trying to use things up and list a few things that were hanging around on my buy nothing group.
When I went to work this week I had a lot of comments on my notebook. They all loved it!Progress:
4414 - online account and app deleted
4415 - 4420 - cards/envelopes used
4421 - book of stamps used up
4422 - pen used up
4423 - unneeded bank account closed
4424 - underwear broken
4425 - laptop bag
4426 - paper
4427 - glass jar
4428 - app deleted
4429 - pack of flower seeds
4430 - packaging
I have a stack of packaging to tidy away, but I keep hesitating as I’d rather use it to get rid of things through buy nothing than it sit in my cupboard… I think I’ll have to relent eventually and just put it away!2025 decluttering: 3,235🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I've brought down a box from the RoD. It was packed in 2003 when we moved from the flat to here. DS was 10. I know the watch, necklace and earrings are in there because I had a peep not too long ago. And put them back.
I feel nauseous but I'm going to see what's in there. Forgotten treasures? No doubt. I don't remember ever laying eyes on that before? Quite possibly.
I don't know if it's fear or excitement but I don't like it. However. If I'm going to declutter I need to feel the fear and do it anyway.

It's not even a big box. The cupboard of doom has boxes much much bigger.
The pink trinket box on the top has the watch etc in it. I'll start with that.
I apologise now if I take over the thread today. I need someone to hold my hand.
