Great pics @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I still have pics and other stuff of the kids in the loft. I think most of it will go in the next year but I haven't finished the photos and pictures yet so it will wait. One job at a time. My current task is to put together DD crocheted patchwork blanket which i put together wrong a few years ago. It is being rejoined now and hopefully returned to her in the next two weeks.
I got rid of one bag of books and DVDs to the charity shelf at the garden centre on Monday. Nothing else out but I did tidy the porch up.
I think I have broken out of my doldrums. I have been in touch with my brother who I was avoiding for no good reason and have been working for short periods on bits of the house tidying. I can see some progress which is brilliant. Sometimes getting started i s the hardest thing to do.

It is actually raining here in "sunny" California. Officially I think we are supposed to call it Liquid Sunshine. Windy Liquid Sunshine at the moment. Handyman came and patched bathroom wall and repainted the whole room and patched and repainted the stairwell. I will be buying stair treads to make them somewhat safer and he will come and install them. While that was happening we had an overflow in the sink from the washing machine which is out in the large storage area rather than in the kitchen - now will have to clear out a lot that got wet - at least it is one way to get people moving to clean up. Wish those tips for children's decluttering worked with adults. Anyone have some suggestions for roommates who are having mental breakdowns, health problems, and just plain laziness to get them motivated? With my to-do list on the computer I am just keeping up with the have-to-dos, trying to get me motivated for the rest.9

Some old paperwork sorted.
Some frogs
Hours of hassle with B* bank opening new account and still not working:(
Dropped things for Dd2 with shopping so a little out.
Bedroom become cluttered again, spare curtains for living room etc, think brought things upstairs when decorating happening.

Hi,
Weenancy,I wish I had some advice for you about your roommates. probably the best you can do for them is look after yourself and lead by example, but mostly look after yourself.x
Several frogs eaten recently, flu jab, sort out access to here and also to emails and opticians. Also the great pantry of doom sort out.
I have kept 5 things to try and sell and the rest I will give to Bit by bit for her chazzer in the hope it will make a good contribution for the shop. There must be several hundred items if I were still counting. I gave up because I was getting a bit obsessive about the numbers.
Completing the pantry of doom means that every item in this house has been appraised this year. It will be like the Forth Bridge, a never ending job of continually letting things go if they are of no use to us anymore. Helping my Mum sort through her clothes recently has made me realise that I only wear a fraction of my clothes. As a yoyo dieter it is just so hard for me to only keep the things that fit right now. I am at peak yoyo atm so weightloss is on the cards for me soon. I must also do something with the stuff we have stored at my Mums. That is a croaking frog.
Work continues on the culvert on the road. I walked past today and they had dragged allsorts out. A lot of sticks,a man's shoe,a motorbike tyre, victorian bottles and bones today.
Good vibes for everyone with health and stressy things to deal with.
Vx

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday was another mainly dry day but did rain about 6:00 p.m. Window cleaner & his wife came today - really highlights the need for me to clean the windows inside 😔 😉 DH & I spent some time in the garden cutting down various plants + emptied the remaining 3 potato growing bags. Not a great haul but at least we have had some produce from the garden this year 🙂 that will teach us to have two big holidays in one year 😉 DH also filled up the bird feeders. I finished the hm soup with a dollop of sour cream. Various bits taken out of freezer for next soup. Dinner was from the freezer - lo spaghetti bolognaise for me, bolognaise mix & fresh spaghetti for DH & DSis 😋 Sadly I need to sort freezers again as the freezer gremlins have made a mess 😅 Wudupa.
New vegetable box delivered - potatoes, onions, carrots, tender stem broccoli, cauliflower, a squash, lettuce & a bag of red chard.1686 - 1689 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, paper packaging, cardboard box - recycled
1690 - 1691 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binned
TC77, I think the bingo system was a grid of 30/31. Fill in each box with a task e.g. defrost freezer, declutter & clean one kitchen cupboard, book an appointment etc. Then cross out each one as you complete it. Good luck 🍀Thanks Deni_debt-free_dreamer - my DH does take good photos 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏
What a great approach to keeping children’s clutter in check QueenJess 👏 I think the main thing with decluttering other people’s clutter is to involve them - whether it is children or adults 😊 I think I read somewhere that Marie Kondo went the opposite way & decluttered her brothers stuff without consulting him 😬 I imagine there was a lot of tension between them 😉Floss, looks like you were a pioneer 😉Plenty of suggestions flamingo747 🙂 Good luck 🍀
Thanks bit_by_bit 👏 Definitely a good idea to complete a job - somehow more satisfying than doing bits of jobs 👏 I really should take that to heart 😉 Great work with the patchwork blanket - photo please 🙏 Any tips on breaking out of the doldrums as I am still firmly ensconced with a growing To Do list 😔 Totally agree that getting started is the hardest thing to do 🙁
weenancy, love the idea of liquid sunshine 🌞 Sadly in England we just have rain 😉 Yippee to the handyman 👏 Unfortunately no tips for dealing with adults bearing in mind that you have tried so hard, for so long to lead by example & apart from the once in a blue moon assistance, you have been let down by your roommates 😔😖 Perhaps a cattle prod for the lazy roommate 🤣 Remember to acknowledge your success in dealing with the ‘have to dos’ from your list 👏👏
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Not a fan of B*bank but hopefully they will buck up their ideas & sort out the problem 🤞
Well said vulpix 😊 I second that weenancy should take care of herself - a bit of TLC goes a long way 🙂 Excellent work dealing with so many frogs 👏 Good luck with the sales & the croaking frog🍀 Also one Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way for completing your Forth Bridge of decluttering 👏😉
The work on the culvert sounds interesting & I can barely restrain my curiosity re the “bones” 🥲Is anyone else watching Handmade: Britains Best Woodworker? DSis & I were rather pleased at this weeks winner 🥳MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Thankfully today looks to be much quieter- two clients have cancelled so a much more roomy day. There's still a few things I need to do to prepare for Sunday and DS is going away after for a week following the baptism service so I've put him on notice that if there's anything he needs to ask me it needs to be today or tomorrow.
874. Stray eyebrows decluttered (waxing appointment)
875. Returned book to someone
Weenancy: I echo what Vulpix says - focus on your own wellbeing and ways of resourcing yourself. I am in awe of everything you do for your roommates.

Not much done yesterday. I cleared a few more things out of the fridge (mostly rearranged stuff onto the fairly empty door shelves. I had emptied the salad drawer (it was a mess so have avoided putting new stuff in), so I wrestled that out and left it on the sink filled with warm water and bicarb and put kitchen paper on the fridge bottom to soak up liquid mess. The kitchen floor is a bit wet but I will convince DS3 that it's because he hasn't emptied the tub under the sink yet (awaiting repair and have had to order the whole drain system).
The WM hadn't emptied again but I managed to get it open and all the soggy clothes went outside. I have no line atm (untied it from next door's tree as I am chopping it down) but I harvested my broad beans last week so draped clothes over the bean 'sticks', the dolly truck, the walker, the water butt and the garden table. The WM needs draining at the bottom but neither DS3 or myself can turn it so need the pliers (may have to buy some new ones). I'm a bit worried that the clothes are full of soapy water but can't do anything with them yet. A couple of trips to part empty the DW before I had to sit down. I have cutlery in my cutlery drawer yay!
Upstairs I went through a huge box of paper and separated off all the 'hobby' stuff - sewing and embroidery, travel stuff, art and most of the general 'health' stuff - CBT and Mindfulness course books and notes. Haven't found my hospital number and details for tomorrow's appointment - had a text 'reminder' but the letter may be in mum's post box - hoping to collect it today along with a bus timetable (and check for better strike information), my puzzle book (shop is at the back of the bus station) and possibly food for my journey (hospital facilities are exorbitant, our infirmary is wonderful but this only has 2 coffee chains and a lunchtime m'n's - not even sure if they do toast and a newsagents selling small bottles of pop for more than I normally pay for 2 l).
Sorted out some important but not urgent paperwork (maintenance and instructions stuff that will be left with the bungalow and bits I need to keep from when mum purchased the bungalow - everything else went to the solicitor's). Thankfully nearly all the receipts are in one place (I'm going to lose out if I don't get that sorted - it was easy enough to scribble down the plant purchases when I was giving the yard more kerb appeal but need them tied down properly). I also need to do mum's tax return - more bits that can then be filed away.
I've had a shower and done a couple of extra and I have alternative plans if getting to the bus station is as much as I can do (think my patient number is somewhere in my notebooks and could just buy sandwiches to take with me - can get a meal deal for less than the price of one hospital drink). That would give me time to work on the accounts and mum's tax return and let me rest more. Might be a more sensible option. Not looking forward to it but it's over 3 years since I went there and my favourite mask has a small rip so I'm having to use the other model and they might give me more consumables.
I'm going to claim 5 for yesterday - only baby steps but progress on several fronts. 565/ 2022
