33/52 - another DH shirt sold and posted (reusing more packaging), and a few more pennies into the coffee fund.
34/52 - a lingering box full of unopened mail and rubbish sorted through. Important documents filed, rubbish binned and a lot of recycling out including the box itself. It took a while but I'm pretty pleased with the effort.9 -

Hello all, all our holiday clothes have finally been washed and dried but I still have the ironing to do. Happily we are off again in 2 weeks so everything caravan wise will be pulled out once more 😁
Yesterday I tackled a small cupboard of doom and threw out half a pot of OOD antiseptic cream, 2 opened chesty cough medicine bottles, the contents of which went down the sink. Also gone a nasal inhaler, a greasy lipsalve and an empty tube of cream, all were well OOD by at least a few years 😲. An eye bath and a medicine measuring cup also bit the dust. All the items were from DH's cupboard 😠 and I have warned him that I will be sending his medal back if he doesn't pull his socks up !
This afternoon I did a lot of weeding and filled up half of a green waste bin. There are a few other things that have been decluttered too but I can't remember what, my new meds are playing havoc with me and I'm forgetful at the best of times. I do remember that I evicted a mahoosive spider from the bath last night 😱 . I absolutely hate the things but DH was asleep and I didn't have the heart to wake him 👼
MrsSD thank you for our medals, I shall polish them religiously 😁
Hugs to anyone in need

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday night we finished off the Somerset chicken accompanied by boiled potatoes again (should be served with baked potatoes but I cannot be doing with all the faff 😂) Wudupa. Friday was another lovely day - sunshine & warmth - a good start to the Bank Holiday weekend. I have finished my binge watching of Game of Thrones - so now I have no excuse not to do my housework & decluttering 😉 We were all rather lazy yesterday ☹️ Dinner was baked beans on toast. I was so lazy that I left the washing up 😔 Saturday is bright, sunny & warm with lovely blue skies. DH did the wu & I have dried & put away. He has also zizzed all the vegetable peelings & fed the worms. Sadly all the worms in one wormery decamped during the hot weather so DH moved some worms from the other thriving wormery. I have one load of washing in which should dry out on the whirligig. I have a 2nd load to go in which should get partially dried at least 🤞I had a lovely call from my DB in Germany 🙂 He had tried to phone earlier in the week but got blocked for some reason 🤔 He is now an allowed caller 😂 Seems like his wife & sons have also all had Covid although mild in all 3 cases. DB has recovered well from his hernia but is currently on sick leave for an unrelated illness. Sadly still no job, so will be signing on + finally signing up to a language course 😉 Both his sons are now going to the same school so will be getting the free bus rather than having to be driven. It appears that Germany are in the same boat as the U.K. - soaring petrol prices, eye watering energy prices & stratospheric grocery bills eek 😱 😬 His in-laws who are living with them are soon off on a 5 week holiday to Croatia then in mid October they are off on a round the world cruise 🙂 Apparently they will be in Sydney over Christmas. DB & family have just got back from a couple of weeks away in Holland staying with friends. His older boy is a keen angler - 70cm pike has been his largest catch. His younger boy is a keen footballer & was selected as one of the boys who accompany footballers onto the pitch - however he accompanied the referee & got to carry the ball 🤩 Apparently his beaming face was up on he large screen 🥳 & they got home in time to see him on the TV 👏 His wife, who is a teacher was working this morning ready for the start of term next week. Also chatted about our St Lucia holiday. We packed a lot in during our 22 minute conversation 😁
1373 - 1378 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, 3 magazines, drinks cans - recycled
1379 - 1382 Kitchen & lr detritus, 2 more large carpet tiles - binned
Good mix of decluttering & tasks EnergyShifter 👏 Hopefully you are starting to get in the holiday mood 🤞 as you seem to be well organised 🙂
Good work short_bird 👏 I hope you enjoy your free weekend - time for a bit of TLC & some rest & relaxation 😉
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 Sorry to hear DS is unwell & I hope you manage to stay awake 🤞
Excellent decluttering weenancy 👏 Are you sure you don’t live in The Library of Congress?😉 I see you are still helping out your roommates 😇
Liverpool_Anne, So chuffed that your afternoon with your old line manager went so well & that he knows that he has someone to talk to if/when he needs to 🙂 I think you 🤬 probably did the most good 😉 The passport thing sounds like a real faff but sadly I think it is the world we live in 😔 Enjoy the footie 🙂
Sorry to hear that RL is being such a pig, TC77 ☹️ & even more sorry that you missed your festival 😔 I am also a bit concerned that you are only taking half days off work - please do try to get a couple of whole days off, you need it 🙏 No need to apologise - this thread is not only for decluttering physical stuff but also as a safe place to declutter our minds. I really believe that it helps to write things down - clarifies our thoughts & is a visual reminder of the things we would like to or need to do. We are all here to support each other even if it is only virtually. Please try to be kind to yourself 🙂
Sounds like you had a lovely break vulpix 🙂 Enjoy your visit with DS - a new home is always exciting 🙂
Great work wort 👏 Now that you have helped dgson declutter his room & enjoyed it 😉, perhaps we can persuade you to offer your services to a few people on the decluttering thread 😅
How exciting oceanspirit - final bits of work being done to get OH’s house ready for sale 🙂 I often think that getting a house ready for sale is a template for how you would like your home to look once you have decluttered 😉
Good decluttering mhagster 👏 Lovely to hear that your son has arrived safely 🙂
Well done on sorting out all your paperwork QueenJess 👏 Any ideas what you will be targeting next?
Excellent work Rootle 👏
Excellent decluttering accidentalglixch 👏
Excellent decluttering nannywindow 👏 You have reminded me that I really do need to do my ironing - currently a large frog 😉 I know once I get started I will be fine as I do actually enjoy ironing - mad woman that I am 🤪 Well done on trying to keep your husband on track 😉 I dislike taking medals back but if you keep it polished & keep him in check then I won’t be tempted 😉

Thank you Vulpix and Mrs SD. I have just had a lovely dinner with my cousins, and then a gallery visit with a friend so decluttered some stress. A frog done and just going to tidy and clean the kitchen abit, and hope to report later today or tomorrow.8

There are over 60 boxes of books still unopened here - I had three rooms full myself as I did research for authors who didn't always pay attention to time or dates and would call me after library hours or when they were closed. I also write books myself - mostly family history how-to books - so have a lot of stuff here. Over 2000 books just on the Home Front in World War II., etc. Been passing along many of the reference books (had over 2000 on the American Civil War at one point). For now most of the books are packed up as have roommates in all the bedrooms. Still have about 3000 on bookshelves in my room, the hallway, and in the front living room. And two of the roommates have extensive book collections also, plus two have a lot of science fiction books. We never have to worry about not having something to read.
This morning I decided to tackle one room at a time, starting with one of the downstairs bathrooms. So have been cleaning it as it needs the wall fixed and the handyman may show up at any time. He leaves his van in our driveway in exchange for helping out with work around here, but has to fit it in between his real work jobs. Has been a great help redoing fences, painting the house inside and out, repairing sidewalks, doing plumbing, etc.
Roommate Diane is still missing three library books so need to do an overhaul of her room - but she is hard to get moving unless it is working on her "project" on the computer. Tomorrow we move things in her room to get the boxes rearranged. You may hear it all the way to England.

Well I hope this weekend gets better. DS has recovered now from his suspected allergic reaction. We (read as me) are being really careful with what he eats until his doctors appointment in a week or so. DD is now having digestive trouble and screamed for a full 30 mins which is unheard of. I really hate August bank holiday… every time it’s a nightmare. I rushed out and bought even more fruit to stuff her with (and some prunes) to see if that helps.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I was thinking either investigating what is actually in the cupboards in the room of doom, checking the shelves or trying harder to find something to eject from the stuffed cupboard upstairs (that’s tricky as that is where DD’s clothes to grow into are amongst other things). I don’t have the energy to have a battle with DH about the massive box of shoes that don’t fit in the allocated shelves and is cluttering up the under stairs cupboard. Apparently they are all needed despite him not opening the box for 5 years 🤷♀️. I could investigate what’s in the rest of the cupboard though as I didn’t do the whole thing the other day.
No real plan, I’m just picking things I haven’t gone through recently and then I guess I’ll go round everything again! I have still lots of cleaning things, bathroom stuff and paper to use up, but that is going to take a very long time indeed.2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

@QueenJess, for little ones a warm bath may help as well as prunes, helps relax. Advice given to me years ago and worked for my then toddler!

Bananas always have a ‘restorative effect’ when I’m having a gippy tummy (and have since I was a toddler according to my mum). Orange juice can help move things along too. I’m still quite partial to a glass of nesquik for a gurgly stomach (can’t face plain milk).✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
