@gran3, thanks, I must admit I had completely missed that information as I am still hearing energy companies saying the gov need to help more, while making more profits I also hear. As the next energy cap rise is also coming up soon I am sure it will be eaten up fairly quickly. We will pay for it one way or another I am sure depending on who our next pm is, I have no faith that either of them will actually help the people who really need it but I live in hope.

Ended my first week of "semi-retirement" - weird feeling to start the weekend on Thursday but I'm not complaining.  Went to a friend's for lunch today !  

There's only a week before we go away.  I hate that I am so easily thrown by all the faffing like Covid test etc.  I need to reframe and start actually looking forward to the holiday.  I think that because I got so close to the holiday last year and had to cancel there's part of me that doesn't believe it's actually going to happen.   Need to sort out insurance tomorrow.

Back to work now so no time and it is just awful. I am hating it with a passion, which isn’t helped by the fact I can’t actually leave. It’s making me want to declutter to gain some control in my life.

Anyway, not much done, although I did sort some paperwork and went through one box of DH’s “extra” bathroom supplies from the cupboard. I pulled out everything out of date or I thought was frankly only fit for the bin and I succeeded getting all but one past DH…. small wins and all that!

Loads of stuff in this week as I had a lot of parcels for wellies, warm clothes (all second hand) etc that are needed. Need to do a bit more decluttering to offset.

Holy moly at the stuff in my house! 

My son has emigrated back to Australia today and whilst he may have decluttered I’ve absolutely recluttered! He was off the mindset of I’ll just get new ( or new to him) out there. 

However out of three absolutely random things on local FB page two have new homes. Even though they’re both used. So I’m glad someone can use them up! 

Have a bag of shoes that can be recycled. 

A pile of eBay parcels to post for him tomorrow. 

He brought down a bag of food so kept some and rest will go to food bank tomorrow. 

He left us with ‘luxury’ ( but apparently it’s not very 😆) loo roll, shower gels and hand cream. 

A set of crockery I’ll drop off at charity shop. 

So I’ve already dealt with quite a bit of it.

Just went through some financial paperwork from the room of doom whilst watching TV. Loads decluttered! As I work from the room of doom, anything I can do to declutter in there will offset some of my work annoyance I hope.

Hi all, moved some more logs today, they are quite big and are going to take quite a bit of work to chop up but I will work on that when I've got them all together.
2 loads of washing done and line dried
Started a union thing, it will take me a few days to sort as we are heading into a bank holiday weekend.
Looked at the freezer and it is chocker so I am now working on a meal plan to empty it a bit to make room for some batch cooking.
A little more knitting done
Off to meet my old line manager tomorrow as he has said he is very stressed and missing me. He does sometimes have MH issues mainly because he works too hard but still beats himself up if he hasn't got done what he thinks he should have and I have heard some things from other ex colleagues that make me think he is being bullied by his line manager, though they might not have the full story. I hope I will find out more tomorrow.
@mhagster, your ds has emigrated and left his stuff with you!! I thought he was just going abroad for a contract term and wanted the stuff when he got back ! I call that a cheek and would have had serious words, after all it's not as if you haven't got enough to deal with. Hugs

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks

2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.

3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉

4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.

5. Don’t put it down, put it away

6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Wednesday was a very warm, sunny day until about 11:00 p.m. when the heavens opened with thunder & lightning. Heavy rain on & off continued until 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Some blue sky until 4:00 p.m. when it started to cloud over again. The garden is thoroughly watered 👏🙂  DH has tidied up the cabling in his office & started swapping out the carpet tiles. I am still rewatching GoT - yet another missing episode Season 6, episode 7 to add to Season 2, episodes 9 & 10. Now starting Season 7 😉Dinner last night was an HB recipe - Somerset chicken accompanied by boiled potatoes with enough left for Thursday’s dinner Wudupa. Thursday - DH has been busy again - filled the bird feeders - it has been lovely watching all the little birds queuing up to eat 😊 His main task of the day was to  repair the gear lever on his working motorbike - successfully 👏

1367 - 1372 Kitchen detritus x 2, 4 large ruined carpet tiles - binned

Floss, kind & informative post 😊 “Broken Brain” sounds like the perfect description for the state of mind immediately prior to total burn out with no attendant stigma. 

Sorry to hear that Fizz2015 but hopefully your manager will find a solution to accompany some time off 🤞

vulpix, quite agree that none of us really knows what troubles other people have. All we can do is be kind to each other & offer support even if only virtual.
