Once the sparky has been tomorrow and been decluttered I shall have to have a ferret away in the cupboard under the stairs. I need to find my grandad/mum’s diary and a small notebook Mum made some family history notes in. In all the upheaval & tidying we appear to have tidied them to ‘somewhere safe’. It won’t have left the building.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Out: 1 pair of unfixable Meindl hiking boots from my Mum, who asked if I could check with my local cobbler if they were fixable. They aren't.1 pair of dd2's sneakers, which we bought in Madrid last Easter at H&M. the right shoe has developed something sharp in the heel, where it touches her achilles' heel. Unfixable.Lots of small toy/craft material (think: disintegrating loom band bracelets), which was on the living room floor, and I've asked dd2 several times to put it away. She didn't and now it's gone. Just caught up with everyones stories. Well done on the award @weenancyinAmerica.
went into the loft on Saturday to get down some walking/jungle clothing. We bought it some ten plus years ago, mostly second hand on eBay then used it for a trip to Borneo and then it goes back in the loft until we need again. Brought it all down. Some was my sons and daughters, checked they didn't want them anymore(they don't) and so into the CS bag they went. Mine are fine and ready for a trip to Scotland in a couple of weeks for my birthday. Whilst up in the loft I also brought down a gas camping light that I won't use and will put on free cycle later.
Yesterday I was feeling despondent at the huge amount still to do and someone on here said they were going to make sure they did one item a day. Feeling I could cope with that I went into the summerhouse to declutter I book...........50 plus books later I have one empty bookcase and a lot of books to sort into CS or recycling. I am going to put the bookshelves onto free cycle too although this does make me sad. They belonged to my Dad and I remember going into his study and looking at all his books in there.........
Today I hope to sort the books and put stuff on freecycle. I have also sorted all the old dog medicine in my cupboards and I will be taking them to the vet for disposal when I go to visit this morning.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D12 -
Morning all.
Still working though photos. I think it is going to be one of those things that I do and then immediatly do again as I am just doing quick decisions at the moment. More thoughtful ones later. Found some splendid pics though.
Yesterday was a great day in the garden. DH and I emptied one flower bed of crocosmia, keeping some but the rest went out front for free. Going to check if any has gone in a minute. We also got rid of the hedgehog nest to the compost heap as it has beeen vacated. We refilled the bed with herbs we have both bought and grown from cuttings.
Another flower bed weeded and any good stuff into our compost, anything we didn't want (brambles) into the council compost bin. The patio and paths have been weeded too and now we have a lovely spot that is twice the size it was when we stasrted
Today in an allotment day. I am bringing all unused pots home at the moment for the next sort out. I will recycle damaged ones and try and gift the rest of freecycle and to people at the allotments.
Lots of other bits today so off I go to get on with it. Have a good day all

@ZsaZsa Thank you. The Architect and the Builder have had a walk-through and found some items that need fixing, which will happen this week. The Architect told me that they publised the work for downstairs on a website where Builders can submit their quotes, and after 2 months, they haven't received a single quote. They have asked 2 Builders they work with regularly to submit their quote, and at least the one who did upstairs has promised to submit one. I'm afraid it's all going to be rather expensive....

Aww, it’s never ending isn’t it. We moved a couple of years ago (having spent 5years doing up our previous house), and there’s still so much to do but once we finish the bits we’re in the middle of, we’re going to take a year off before starting the next round. As much as I want this house finished, I really can’t face doing any more at the moment.

@Siebrie and @ZsaZsa I know where you’re coming from. After the mini list of snagging and prepping I’m refusing to take on any major work until next year. The biggie is the replastering of our living room. Everything will need to be moved out of the room and, as I work from home, I think I’ll be taking the week off work for that activity taking place. Hopefully next summer so I can potter in the garden and read my books!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I have been through our financial paperwork and shredded some admin to do with our house move that we don't need.
I had my brother staying over this weekend so when I was washing their bed covers after they left I went through the airing cupboard and I am donating a blanket, a cushion cover and two sets of curtains. My husband will take them today.8 -
Hello all sorry to have been MIA but I have been on holiday, the first one since Sept 2019 ! We had a great time and rested a lot, couldn't do much in the first week anyway as the temperatures were 32-35 degrees every day, so we sat under a tree in the shade all day at the back of our van and talked to fellow 'vanners. The highlight of that week was to visit an air conditioned sm 😂. The second week there was an epic thunder and lightening storm with torrential rain which cooled things down to a more manageable 22-25 degrees however I've still returned with a deep tan and I only strolled to the communal rubbish/recycling bins occasionally(I get all the best jobs 🙄) so I've come home looking like I've been abroad instead of Somerset ! DH however has returned with prickly heat 😏
I didn't stop decluttering while away as I sorted out the 'van cutlery drawer and out went many items that shouldn't have been in there, including lots of odd screws and pens. Also gone a spatula which had seen better days, a metal tongs and an old almost bald toothbrush which was used for cleaning. Dh went through his van tool bag too ( without me nagging 😮 ) and threw out a rusty screwdriver, a broken break-away chain and lots of bits and bobs which were for our old van. I donated a book and a magazine to a fellow 'vanner, another avid reader.
Deleted this morning, 56 read emails and 7 finished books from my kindle. I have binned a pair of DH's sandals which were beyond repair. DH also broke one of our outdoor fold up chairs on hols, so we brought it home to be be dismantled, the frame for the scrappy man and the seat/back will be binned. (We replaced the chairs with 2 new ones but they were in the sale 👏 ) Into the cs bag has gone a brand new travel toothbrush with case and a hardly used backpack which I found is too big for daily use but too small to carry anything substantial, so I hope someone else can make use of it.
Sorry I haven't kept up with everyone but there was no wi fi and I seem to have missed almost 200 posts. Hope everyone is well and going strong with the decluttering. Apologies for my long post too.
Take care all
