Mothernerd re the catalogues ,when you register her death , they will offer you the Tell us Once Service ( notifies councils DSS etc )and another service for catalogues and general junk mail. It’s free and worth using ,I have had practically nothing for my DH .
if she had any private pensions ,they aren’t part of the service and you have to contact them directly.
in April / May ( when DH died ) I got an email or phone call can’t remember which with gave me a phone appointment with the Registrar ,who was really helpful .it was all done by phone .I did need Wi-Fi and a printer ,to pay for the death certificates electronically and then they were posted to me .Hope that helps ,you may already know so sorry if inappropriate15 -
Mothernerd - Sorry to hear about your Mum. Sounds like you have been really busy with everything - sending a big hug. Finally I think we are about there with the paperwork to sort out the fun and games caused by the missing will. I think we now have all the relevant forms filled in - so now we need signatures before they are sent in and a document from our solicitor (not the one that lost the will). It's been a right pain as every time I thought I had worked out what to do I found another issue that needed to be sorted out. A relief to feel that soon we may be able to get things moving. No decluttering or tidying today (I had the best of intentions) but at least the giant frog is shrinking.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons13

Thinking about it I think the Undertakers gave me a leaflet about the local arrangements,it will probably be a little different as DH died at home with just me present13

Quite a productive day around home working. Outside decorations are down and 1 outside light decoration is now in the bin. It started off saying "Merry Christmas", by Christmas Eve it said "Merr Christmas" and by New Years Eve i said "Me Christmas". So its off to the great sign in the sky.
Day 4
* Pair of outgrown children's wellies to charity bag in my car boot (this will be gone tomorrow...!)
* Large Christmas Decoration in the bin
Slow and steady... so long as I remove 1 item per day I'm on course...
Keep on being ruthless fellow travelling tribe members!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......13 -
@mothernerd , so sorry to hear about your mum, echo the comments about how much you've done and sending your hugs and thinking of you. Please do look after yourself x
@oceanspirit , thank you I like your idea of adding things to be healthy.
Down at my dads sorting some things but won't count these.12 -
Sorry for your loss mothernerd. You have achieved an awful lot but don't go putting pressure on yourself too much.Took the decorations down today, and put some of the ones I won't be using again in a carrier bag along with two [gifted] boxes of baubles I won't use, a notebook and a small quilt type thing I won't use. One bag ready to go to the CS. And I have my eye on a small table that the Christmas tree was standing on to go on FB for sale tomorrow.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Hi all, well it feels like I only popped out to the post office and another 3 pages appeared
@mothernerd I have pmd you, hugs
I got the 3parcels in the post, whew there was such a long queue, picked up some essential shopping and sent a couple of messages to friends.
I watched the 1st part of "Anne" which I have recorded as OH didn't want to watch it. I cried my eyes out. This is the first time I have cried about Hillsborough, I was there and whenever I have seen or read anything about it in the past I have just been very angry, I have a special set of swear words for many of the people responsible. Today I was able to cry and I am sure more tears will follow as I watch the next episodes.
It was then time for coffee over the fence with my neighbour but even though the sun was shining there was a very cold wind so we only managed about 40 minutes chat but again it felt good to be outdoors
I cracked on with the soup making when we went in and made a few phone calls to friends while it was simmering then did some digital decluttering.
I managed 2 .5 of my 5 things on my to do list and have added another 5 for tomorrow
Take care everyone12 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks.
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSo Tuesday was a very wet day - it rained on & off all day ☹️ Completed my 5 daily tasks 🥳 Dinner was delicious 🤤 Wudupa.
22 - 24 Kitchen recycling, glass jar & metal lid, drinks cans - recycled
25 - 26 Kitchen & office detritus - binnedYour decluttering & tidying is already reaping results GeorgianaCavendish 👏

Btw loving the side conversations 🙂
Great work on the emails, florianatwobob 👏 Sending lots of luck 🍀 for the ‘one touch’ approach 🙂Excellent decluttering OWD_nana 👏 We certainly are moving fast 😥
You are very welcome marrob 🙂 I love reading about everyone’s successes 🙂Great work EnergyShifter 👏 especially using your lunch break to offload 6 bags to CSExcellent decluttering all round gilly1964 👏Sorry to hear you have been unwell, Deni_debt-free_dreamer ☹️ Great work on developing such good habits 👏Lovely post bit_by_bit 🙂 Well done on getting DSis & her DD on board 👏 There is some excellent decluttering going on in your home 👏 & a real bonus that your DH & DD are appreciative of all your efforts & even pitching in 👏 Can you come round my house when you are done 😉😉😉 Great work on dealing with a frog 👏Good work short_bird 👏
Welcome aboard sumb7170 👋 What a great set of goals - I was exhausted reading them 😉 Sorry to hear that your other half has succumbed to Covid ☹️ & fingers crossed that you remain negative 👏 Hopefully you can continue stacking the items to go & then get them out of the house in one go 🤞
charlies_tribe, remembering the picture there appears to be a very large extension cable that should be worth a few £ 🤞 You might be stacking up all the items to go out but think of the elation when everything is out of the house 😉👏Well done on returning items to their owners shabbychic12 👏 I don’t imagine you are charging for storage 😉
Excellent work Fairy_Shazza 👏 There is something very satisfying about having a mini blitz 😁
You are absolutely amazing mothernerd 😻 You have done more in a day than I have done in 6 months 🤩 Very pleased that your family are pulling together & helping out with the phone calls informing other family members. The emotional side of a bereavement always seems to be the most draining ☹️ The Bereavement Officer sounds like a good person but do take advantage of any counselling or assistance that is offered 🙏 Sending a few more hugs your way.
Good work Guineapigsqueaks especially on top of a full day at work 👏The CraftyForager, Sorry to hear that long Covid is making life difficult 😣 but well done on the reverse psychology 👏 You got a lot done & even dealt with frogs 👏Good work Gem-gem 👏
Of course you can join us ChihiroSen 🙂 Welcome aboard The EDT 👋 What a great start to your decluttering journey 👏 What a shame you inherited hoarding tendencies but at least you are aware of them 👏 & are now ready to declutter with a vengeance 😉
Great work stellata 👏 & absolutely the cake mix counts 🙂
Very informative post Suffolksue, thank you 👏
Fingers crossed skogar 🤞 that you are on the last leg of the lost will debacle 🤞 Why on earth there isn’t a book describing in detail the process of sorting out an estate with or without a will + advising how to proceed if the solicitor has lost the will, I do not understand 😖
Excellent work shangaijimmy 👏 ‘Fellow travelling tribe members’ what a great description ☺️
Good work -taff 👏
Liverpool_Anne thank you for the pm. It must have been terrifying being at Hillsborough. (I had a work colleague who was on the Herald of Free Enterprise when it capsized in 1987).
The aftermath of both these events has been handled badly for over 30 years so I can well understand your anger. Hugs coming your way 🤗As to the queue in the P.O. what is the betting that most were returning unwanted or unsuitable gifts/purchases 😉
Oops, look at the time 😬 See you all laterMrsSD 🏅🏅
