Can I join in please. Daily attendee to this website in general, to some specific forums and have come across this posting. Am a hoarder, not helped that I have recently helped my mum and stepdad declutter their home to downsize. I still have the 'stuff' in one of my bedrooms, kitchen and lounge. I even 'rescued' 4 large pots with plants from their yet to be old garden at the weekend, which I don't really have space for. I also have a 'collecting' books problem, if I find an author I like, I have to have to collection from book one, before I binge read. I have got better with this as I now recycle to my local charity shop when read
I do practice 'do I need this' when out shopping, but after 'helping' my mum, I need helpand will try to declutter at least half of my unneeded, unused stuff this year...

Day 4 and DH is in with the decluttering but more of a wait on the platform type person.
1-7 Shirts to CS
8-9 Pairs of trainers to CS
10 Blanket to CS
11-15 Broken Christmas decorations to bin
16 Cardboard to recycling
17 Plastic bottle to recycling
18-20 Glass bottles to recycling
21-23 Dried up pens to the dustbin
24-26 Camera equipment traded in for £100
We are taking down the Christmas decorations today. I always hate this day as the house seems so empty and dull after a few weeks of brightness.

Belated happy New year to everyone, welcome to all the new people and lovely to see everyone who has changed onto the EDT from the old chara who helped me so much last year and special thanks to Mrs SD.
@marrob with your stash of fabric and wool you might be interested in the fashion on the ration challenge where there are some very lovely people who sew and knit all sorts of lovely things, if you have time for 2 threads
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check the thread out, seems like an ideal place for me. I might see you there.

First day back in the ‘office’ (really the corner of my front room) today so not too much decluttering going on however…..the recycling has gone out and I’m attempting to prevent work and personal paperwork cluttering up surfaces. I shall be attempting a ‘one touch’ approach (wish me luck)!
I did declutter a lovely number of work emails today though!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@mothernerd please accept my condolences on the passing of your dear mum. You have truly been a wonderful daughter in her time of need. With your own failing health you kept plodding on, an example to us all. Please take some time to yourself to grieve and heal before tackling mums home. Hugs
All decorations taken down and put away, with execption of linens awaiting ironing. Have labelled some to be donated next year.
Whilst looking in my gift box ( i collect small items for the grandbabes throughout the year) i came across a small suitcase which i thought was empty. No, full of clothes in a smaller size. Decided to go for it, case and all contents to charity shop.
Although like a few other de clutterers i would like to shed a stone in weight this year.
I Cannot guarentee it will happen and would rather have the space. Still amazed when i turn up something like this.
So good start so far;
1. Foam packaging from flat pack bedside table finally assembled. Bin
2. Cardboard box to friend to use to pack up a parcel
3. Small cushion - cute but too small to actually be used CS
4. Small sieve strating to rust. Bin
5. Small suitcase . CS
6/9 Trousers
10/14 Tops + fleece
15. Fabric backpack - freebie
16/17. Fridge magnets
18. 2021 Calender - RC
Well to keep up with this fast moving train i must post more often. Hope i can keep up as i find you all so inspirational.
.@Growurown i am another who must read all books by a new to me author. Nice to find another addict. I do buy second hand and pass back to charity though or i would be buried alive.14 -

Welcome aboard The EDT marrob 👋 No need to sit in the baggage car - we recently picked up another carriage so there are plenty of seats available 🙂 No-one ever rambles on this thread (other than the walking kind 😉) what we do is write down our thoughts as they come to us 👏 Now prior to starting your 2022 decluttering campaign the only thing to do is decide your priorities 😉 Well done on your weight loss so far 👏

Glad I'm not having to sit in the baggage car, I was not looking forward to that, need my comfortable seat now!
I'm thinking about my priorities and what I need to focus on now, thanks for the advice.
You put a lot of work, and time, into this thread, thanks for the motivation.
