Morning all. So sorry to hear your news @mothernerd, sending hugs and thinking of you.
@sumb7170 a lot of your goals sound like mine this year, good luck.
Managed to do my first decluttering of the year yesterday: 7 hair products that I don't know why I bought them and don't work for me, an old pair of hair straighteners that were broken and I thought I'd already got rid of and 2 broken hair ties. So 10 out of the 365 target I set for myself.
1 load of washing is done and drying on the airer with the dehumidifier next to it so should speed up the drying time. Going to try and sort my jewellery out this evening but will see what time I have after everything else I have to do.
Hope everyone has a good day.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks. 2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays. 3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉 4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday is a bright freezing day. I was up early for me - just gone 9, but have done nothing apart from put a new black bag in the wheelie bin (which was emptied at 10:00 a.m. after 2 weeks) Currently on my 2nd cuppa whilst trying to psych myself up to going out into the cold 😉

Wow @mothernerd: so productive. When I was sorting out my sisters estate a few years back I had folder and a notebook with me at all times as there was so much to do.What has improved is that you only need to go to one bank with death cert. now and they will inform any other banks.
As the family have asked for photos I suggest a shoe box with named envelopes so you can just put pics in the right envelope as you come across them and then have a final one where you can scan and print multiples; or even; better delegate it to someone else
Final thing. Delegate a person in groups of people to pass info on on your behalf if possible. Its easier to text one person than 15 (a lesson learnt when I had the Big C) plus it less boring and time consuming.
Please take care of yourself. You have a lot to do and it will take a time. Take any offers of help with task such as clearing clothes, bedding and things that don't need too much sorting. Ask for help too. Even if it is just to keep the garden tidy, clean the cupboards etc. Best wishes and big hugs

Good morning everyone… not a lot of decluttering going on here at Dollypeep Towers but there is tidying ….much tidying. I’m trying to keep things straightened up and ‘company ready’ if you like.. it was much nicer to return to a clean and tidy kitchen ( it usually is but I’ve made sure everything is in its place) after my fitness class this morning.
This afternoons job is to finish taking down the Christmas tree and store away. I do feel a bit of a decluttering moment as I think a set of lights need to be binned but we shall see… Dd is a miracle worker with a bit of insulation tape lol. Today should’ve been blitz the kitchen but that will have to wait until tomorrow so I’ll concentrate on the living room
Happy sunny Wednesday xx

Feeling very virtuous just now.... I have decluttered my final accounts to my accountant to submit I know I could submit them myself, but between 2 different self-employed roles and the odd PAYE job I am always a bit confused / worried about getting it wrong, so I let someone else take that pressure for me!

Judge each day not by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds which you sow.
Moternerd,I am thinking of you. Please don't over do it.
Liverpool-Anne, I could not bring myself to watch the Anne prog. Even the trailers on TV upset me.
BlackSaturn, mmm what time is dinner, I will be there!
I have taken a leaf out of Liverpool-Anne's book and been a bit of a walk as it is such a beautiful day. Also took my Mum to a coffee morning which she enjoyed. I think we will go every week, I don't do anything for her other than food shopping so it is the least I can do. She is 88 tomorrow.
This year I have also taken a leaf out of Mrs SD's book and tidied the kitchen every night. The kitchen is so tiny that anything left out makes it messy.
In my Bathroom is a large inaccessible cupboard with the boiler in it. When we moved in I just shoved loo roll and towels in there. I contorted myself and had a bit of a sort out this morning. Found some old parts that the engineer must have left there when the boiler played up last year.
I took a pine kitchen chair with arms to my Mum's. She keeps going dizzy so I have put it in her kitchen instead of her perching stool. She has fallen off that a couple of times. perhaps she will be safer in a chair with arms.
6. Sorted out a big stack of old paperwork. Anything printed single-sided has gone into my scrap paper box (I get through this very quickly) and double-sided printing has gone in the shredder if confidential and recycling if not. 7. Shifted a couple of old textbooks
Mothernerd please take care of yourself. I understand that you want to get rid of / do a lot of things but please, please take your time. You'll end up accomplishing nothing if you wear yourself out trying. Apologies for nagging and feel free to tell me to mind my own beeswax. I've taken all the decorations down and they've been boxed up and put away, sadly only one carrier bag of leftovers to go to the cs, must have gone through them before at some point. Also found some wadding, now in the cs bag. In the recycling an empty tin of polish, a caravan magazine, blown plastic bottle of lime juice, Ferrero R plastic pyramid, cheese twists container, 3 booklets:- 1. Green flag 2. Income bonds and 3. What to do when someone dies, the latter I must have had almost 8 years( since my DM passed away ) Even DH is now onboard with decluttering and has binned a set of headphones 😁 Only one item but I think every one out is a win as he's a bit of a hoarder and keeps things he thinks he will fix sometime in the future ( but never gets around to 🙄 ) Vulpix happy birthday to your DM for tomorrow. Sorry I haven't read everyone's posts but I had lots of pages to go through. I seem to spend far too much time reading about other peoples efforts and thinking Wow ! How fabulous ! and then not doing anything myself. Take care all. Hugs to anyone in need nan
