May I join in. I'm just embarking on a major declutter. I've always decluttered but not ruthlessly enough. But now I find I can let most things go easily. For example I'm selling some of Dads old racing programmes from the 60s. I had kept them in the loft because it didn't feel right to get rid of them. But my son has now left school and I feel I'm entering a new stage of life. I'm embracing minimalism fully not in a half ars#d fashion.14

Sort of deurking
I was a member but have failed miserably
Mrs S-D I’m remembering St Lucia ,we stopped twice just for the day whilst on Caribbean cruises .
Have you been to Castries ,and the tour to the pitons is great ,we didn’t do many organised tours in the Caribbean preferring to use the local taxis and we never felt unsafe
lovely memories Thank you11 -
Decluttered another shift at second job ( 11 more to go…as if I’m counting 🤣…I’m counting!) and two big shifts done Sunday/ Monday after which I crashed out both evenings! So round to mums this afternoon with a dog ( who kind of got in the way as I had to kind of keep an eye on him ) and started sorting the stuff from the loft which was unceremoniously dumped in the top landing!Huge pile of paper in recycling bin.Two bags of bags ( why?) in the bag recycling bin at supermarket on way home.Piles sorted for a tip run. Metal, plastic, boxes.
Two bags of rubbish in the bin.Stuff that can go to charity shop.Loads and loads of fabric that a friend will take.
But the biggest load of crap ever! Just why? Why would you put stuff up there in the first place? A carrier bag filled with jigsaw pieces…hundreds of mixed pieces! I hate jigsaws, they give me the heeby jeebies! So out they went!10 -
Thanks MrsSD. It was ok as I knew that was what it was like. There was very little else though. I was looking forward to the kimono show but missed it. There was a lovely lady selling bags and other items made from old kimonos. If I wanted badges, stickers, prints and plushies I would have been well off.
Welcome @DaysofQuiet This is a very friendly place.
Been to the allotment today and cought up a bit. There was nowon around, it was nice and cool and I did a lot of weeding and clearing. I need another go to really get on top of things but I am goping away for a week from tomorrow so it will hjave to wait. It was lovely to harvest spuds and onions. Rasberried abs blackberries.
Keep well all. I hope to catch up next week.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. @mhagster, I too feel totally baffled about why my parents stored some of the items in their (now my) loft. A single divan complete with headboard. It must have been a hell of a struggle to get it in there and some time I've got to try and get it down again. It's been there for 20 years now.
I found these in the shed. Why????12 -
To give you a good laugh wildrose. X:9

If you still have the teeth, some of the groups that go overseas to help with dental work might be able to use them.8

@Wednesday2000 I thought the drawer before looked fine, but I can see it definitely looks better after. You are inspiring me to have another look round the house and find some more things to use up or get rid of.
I’m still using up too much food stock, cleaning supplies and bathroom supplies. Not much achieved today, but I did defrost the tiny kitchen freezer as I had enough space in the other big freezer. It was getting difficult to shut the drawers as it was so iced up! Just need to clean the drawers out, but it odds currently getting itself nice and cold again. I think I will put the things in it that I would like to live there and continue running down the other freezer.Inspired to have a little look around the house later to see if there is anything I could get rid of. It’s definitely getting very hard now!2025 decluttering: 3,896🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Well it worked @vulpix. The teeth that is, the bed is less amusing.
Thanks @weenancyinAmerica, it hadn't crossed my mind that they could be of use to anyone. I think I have them somewhere. Why, I don't know?9 -
Well I had a look round and managed to find 3 things to get rid of. It’s very hard to know where to look without getting everything out of a drawer or something to deal with. Maybe I’ll attempt to find 3 things a day and try to tackle some of the areas I know has the most stuff in it… I definitely saw lots of things to use up, so I’ll need to tackle whether I think I’ll actually use these things up or not.
Anyway, todays attempt:
2376 - vitamins DD refuses to take
2377 - money box not used
2378 - moisturiser I’ll never use
2379-2388 - digital photos
