Holiday Mantras
1. Try not to eat too much but drink plenty of water
2. Restrict time playing AB2 to 45 mins in the morning & 60 mins in the evening 😉
3. Breakfast everyday with the family 😉
4. Enjoy the excursions
Monday has been a day of torrential rain on & off from early morning through to 4:00 p.m. We were supposed to go on our Tout Bagay tour today but with the bad weather & the fact that we left it a bit late & wouldn’t have had any breakfast we have delayed it until Wednesday. However it was a good trial run for timings on Wednesday 🙂 We ended up having a leisurely breakfast in the Buffet restaurant. Several of our party had made to order omelettes which looked delicious 😋 Then went to the terrace - DH & T had ice cream but the rest of us had coffee. Returned to our rooms & S booked a minibus to Rodney Bay - excellent & very friendly driver, Andre. We pootled about a bit but we’re a bit disappointed in the choice of shops 😔 So had some ice cream & then called Andre to take us back to hotel. However there were lots of ‘gentlemen’ hawkers/beggars & everyone fended them off except me 😔 Gave a cigarette to one but the 2nd one sat next to me & showed me the fire report for his destroyed house & his temporary ID document so I ended up giving him 20 East Caribbean Dollars approx £6. My DH was most cross 😡 & stuck to me like glue whilst we were waiting for Andre 😉 as I was approached by 2 more who had seen me giving money 😔 The most inventive approach was asking for money to buy cricket balls for the kids who were playing a charity game on Friday (& had only 1 ball) 😅 By the time we got back to the resort it was time for lunch so we went to the Italian restaurant, Grazie. DH had calamari & fettuccine carbonara & I had a Mediterranean green salad & spaghetti with meatballs 🤤 Drinks - sparkling water, mimosas or rum & coke or gin & tonic. Returned to our rooms. Due to the bad weather no one is allowed in the pools because there may be lightning 😬 Not sure what the evening plans are - we are definitely getting into the Caribbean vibe 😁Who knew huskies could be so fussy, weenancy 😉 At least it is only Swiss cheese & not prime rib 😅
Wednesday2000, a walk-in closet would be great 😉 The only trouble is I don’t think I would ever declutter any clothing or accessories 😔 Less cupboard space 😣 you might need to declutter through necessity not desire ☹️ Well done on decluttering packaging 👏
vulpix, I agree that there never seems to be enough useful kitchen storage even when you have designed the kitchen yourself 😉 Re all the cleaning products, I think you should stick to your own method & donate them - women’s refuge or perhaps a homeless charity as cleaning products are always useful when someone is re-housed & doesn’t have money to spare. Your mill workers cottage sounds delightful 😊 Another thought is that maybe people were smaller 😉 but also had no choice than to live cheek by jowl 😔 I think many of us want a simpler life but not at all sure that I could be as liberated as Vascodakarma 😉 Yippee to the rain - at least you will not have to water the garden.
Great suggestion Floss 👏
Self decluttering plaster florianatwobob - I love it 😁 Less work for you 😉 I really like your banisters & doors 🙂
Wednesday2000, I think the way things are going with energy prices we will probably all be using our ovens for storage 😥 Great ideas for utilising the space you do have 👏 Now, now ‘wagging finger emoji’ (I really miss that emoji ☹️) - remember every item out is a win 👏
Wildrose that sounds rather worrying 😟 I will start doing a rain dance - let me know a general area/county/state & I will incorporate that into the chanting. Absolutely excellent decluttering, especially all the hard work on the bamboo removal 👏
What a good idea vulpix 👏 Watching plaster dry somehow seems more soothing & interesting than watching paint dry 🙂teachergirl, so pleased that you enjoyed your weekend with your daughter 😊 Shame about the new house, but hopefully that means they will find another one that they love more & ticks all the boxes 🤞 Sending get well wishes & hope you feel better tomorrow. You should be pleased florianatwobob- it looks very tidy indeed 👏Lovely supportive post bit_by_bit 😊 Sounds like a nice weekend - although I think I would have been a bit disappointed with anime & manga (although my nephew in France would have loved it 😉) Great work on the sales 👏 Will you be on your own when she leaves?Just had a message that we will be heading up to the main building at 6:45 p.m. for dinner - restaurant to be decided 😉 Not used to eating 3 times a day - at home it is some sort of snack early afternoon then dinner - hence the need for mantra 1 🤣P.S. one photo today - a rather beautiful snailMrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

So we tried to get a table in Hunters Steak House but none available until 8:30 p.m. so went to Gourmet Marche & had a buffet dinner. One alcoholic drink each. I had a salad - lettuce, peppers, potato salad, coleslaw, tomatoes, onions & pickled onions, beetroot, salami, hard boiled egg with thousand island dressing. Had a piece of lemon cake (no lemon) with a scoop of chocolate ice cream & a scoop of tropical dream ice cream. At least the ice cream was delicious 😉 Back in our rooms by 8:30 p.m. 😉
Live entertainment - one guy on a steel drum followed by 3 dancers & a singer. There were also some locals selling souvenirs so I managed to get a wooden fridge magnet in the shape of St Lucia. I have also bought postcards which I will write & post tomorrow.
Hope everyone is managing to stay sane & reasonably healthy 😉

Thank you Mrs SD. The banister and handrail are original 1929/1930 and took ages to strip back to the wood. A labour of love. The doors are similar to the originals which remained but were beyond reclamation due to the 1960s ‘modernisation’.After this I shall need a holiday, quite envious of your recent travels!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I'm also watching plaster dry, the current weather is particularly good for it: some sunshine and lots of wind. All the windows on the first floor are wide open. It looked similar to @florianatwobob 's pictures, but with much more dust, and now plaster spillage. The plaster spillage is on the old laminate flooring, which will go as soon as we have painted everywhere. We plan to paint upstairs ourselves, teaching dds some valuable techniques; we will hire someone to do the downstairs after the downstairs renovation.
Ready for the tip:
lid to plastic moving box I no longer have (I think; I cannot find it anywhere)
discoloured bath toys
toasty maker that just stopped working halfway through making a toasty. The residual heat was enough to finish the toasty
freezer container and lid that have a nasty smell I can't seem to remove
plastic garden chair with invisible split in the seat
I am preparing to go to my parents' for 10 days, with dds. This means: making sure the guinea pig cage is clean and all the paraphernalia are in the living room for the carer to find easily. He's 13, a son of a friend of mine. He gets €2/day for taking care of our guinea pigs. They live around the corner and Mum keeps an eye on him, and can step in if he can't make it. I am happy to pay for this.
This also means that the living room and kitchen have to be neat! These are the rooms we have lived in for five weeks now, with lots of stuff from the first floor added, so it's very full, and even messy! Dds are at a friend's right now, so I have the time and space to actually move around and not be bothered by two lumps on sofas with their electronics. I don't have the energy for prodding them in to action at the moment. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5911 -
@Siebrie, my house is also all 6’s & 7’s as upstairs is downstairs! We’re a nice consistent temperature here this week too for plaster drying. Skimming is taking place later today and tomorrow in some places.I’ve also acquired another plasterer, mine went out for a new skimming bucket as his had developed a split and he came back with that and a mate!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Project for today. Tackle my makeup/toiletries drawer.
I just went out this morning to a £1 type shop and bought some containers so I will post the after pic too. I also managed to find a shelf for that alcove. It was a bedside table but it doesn't matter. It's still storage. I also bought a footstool and they are both being delivered tomorrow.:)

I threw away a case (can't even remember what that was from) and a tub of cream that I bought (literally) years ago and have never used. Packaging into recycling bin. The cup is soaking in dishwasher tablets water to clean it and I will start use it again.
i am using up the last of the beauty balm, the night cream and the spf lotion the next couple of days. It looks like much less stuff now.:)

Have booked a trip to Glasgow for first weekend August
No Spend days still accumulating despite booking trip to Glasgow...
One more evening at work then 13 days off - actually, if I look at the rest of next month, it's a few more days off than that as August is traditionally a quiet month.
off to sort out a job application to increase the job portfolio if only for a few weeks.

Will catch up on everyone's posts later.
I decluttered interview stress this morning! Had a 30min task followed by 1 hour interview. One of the panel was my line manager, luckily she knew I had applied and we have a good relationship.
Proud of myself for surviving and answering all the questions so I am happy. What will be will be.
The house has been neglected so now it times for a tidy up, cull and declutter.

So satisfying watching plaster dry. 😂
I have used up 2 perfumes recently. I am down to my last new one. I am still ploughing through hand creams and moisturiser. How happy I would be to have such a tidy bedside drawer as you Wednesday. I rarely buy for myself other than deodorant and face moisturiser. I get them as gifts. And of course cast offs from dds.I am teaching myself to knit Aran patterns. My brain hurts!
Your holiday sounds lovely Mrs SD if only for the food.Laters Vx:10
