This is the first time I've tried to post a photo on here - too worried I wouldn't do it right! - and I'm not sure I have.... can't seem to make it smaller. But..... Even though I know its objectively special - I have been inspired by my love for my new "outdoor room" - it has been such a satisfying project for my staycation. An unexpected, and quite wonderful, bonus has been that I was able to keep the flowers that my neighbour gave me yesterday (I did them a small favour). I have really strong allergies and normally have to refuse flowers or pass on gifted flowers away practically immediately because I get migraines if I have them indoors but this time I was able to put them in my "outdoor room" - they are the first flowers I've been able to keep for around 10 -15 years !!! 💐💐💐

Love your garden room @Energyshifter. Your garden shed looks interesting.
Some may recall a discussion last year about a common fettish for notepads in all shapes and sizes (and other stuff). Well I can report in at last that the notebook on my desk has finally been finished up. I used it to note decluttering numbers, jobs to do, frogs, competition dates etc. It has been replaced by another half used note pad from the stash.
917 History notes recycled
918 Note pad used up and cardboard cover to recycling
919 Pile of random postcards sorted through (about 200). Some kept, some scanned, some thrown away, stamps to charity envelope.
920 A few postcards shared on line to potential interested parties. One scan sent off this morning to person researching the family named.
Need to repair ravages left by children as DS2 bringing visitor home. I cleared all emails only 2 days ago but there are at least 50 new ones lurking this morning.2025 Decluttering Campaign 977/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hello all, sorry to see some on here have been struggling lately, I'm sure a rest will do you a power of good but have a hug from me in the meantime.
Energyshifter loving your garden room.
Grannykate I laughed at the " fetish " for a notepad, but I will admit being guilty of that weakness too. I would prefer putting pen to paper than typing any day of the week.
I haven't done much decluttering as it's been too hot, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ! But yesterday I cut the front hedge ( good call that as today we have had rain ) and I now have a green waste bin ready for collection. This morning I have decluttered 23 emails, several recorded programmes ( now watched ) and an empty wine bottle. This afternoon I shall go through my wardrobe in the hope that I can find some space for the summer clothes, which at present are hanging on the door handles as they will be crushed if I shoehorn them in. I'll put the winter stuff away and hope the weather doesn't revert to snow and ice⛄😂. Maybe I can find something for the cs bag too. I have to do the freezer shuffle too as I've had a sm delivery and I need to get a loaf or 2 in there. I have half a stale fruit loaf to use up, plenty of milk and an egg, which has become stuck in the box so I'll make a bread and butter pudding, waste not want not eh ?
Happy decluttering everyone, don't forget only do what you can, when you can as any item out is a win, even daily items.
Take care all

Thanks for lovely comments DuranGirl & GrannyKate & Nannywindow I'm glad you like my new outdoor room! GrannyKate - the shed is an old playhouse that I got for DS when we moved in 16 years ago. I used to refer to it as "the folly" as he barely used it - just occasionally climbed on top of it. It is now at least being used but as garden storage.

Foofoo I am so sorry to hear of your break in. A rotten thing to happen.
Energy shifter, love your garden space. It makes a difference to be able to be comfortable out side.I am enjoying admiring my backyard. In fact I have just been looking at it from the back bedroom window. It is marred by the view of a broken down shed someone has deserted. I have tried to get the council to contact the person responsible. The roof flew off in the last big storm.Just needed a break from RL for a little while. Having a challenge atm.Vx:8 -
Hi everyone,
I often pop onto this forum and thought I'd join in. I'm leaving my job after 20+ years! I'm a teacher and have accumulated many reading books over that time. Today I gave away 100 books to the children and donated 20 to the school library. Over the summer break I am hoping to continue with decluttering at home... especially the garage which has become a 'I will keep it here until I sort it out' space!
I hope all of you who are having a challenging time at the moment, get a break soon.

granny Kate there are hundreds of notepads at mums in all sorts of sizes! ( to be fair there’s hundreds of everythings😆)
Well Friday already. Was round by 8am this morning with doggy. We ( mostly me) went through a bag of photos from the room of doom cupboard of doom number 1…there’s more than one COD!) Stuff for recycling, stuff back round to mine till I decide what to do with it…mainly photos)
Dropped off bag of clothes from mine ( mainly mums last load of washing that I’d done) to charity bin. Took 25 books to supermarket. Luckily there was space for them. And helped myself to some lovely roses from mums garden.Had a work meeting in town and popped into solicitor and bank whilst there.Straight to mums and loaded the car with 5 very full boxes and one very full bag for charity shop. This is all stuff I’ve collected this last week. Dropped them off. Then home to my doggy and a snooze on the sofa!6 -
Vulpix - have you considered tossing some wild flower or runner bean seeds out by the shed to see if they would cover it up or at least make it decorative? Or planting some beans on a trellis along the part where you see the shed. Good luck with getting help with it - it always takes a long time to get any agency to help out, doesn't it?5

mhagster ... lovely that you took roses from your mum's and again impressed with how much you do. I found it very sad going through my dad's things (and have lots more to do - but is several hours away). Think is was after talking to DB about dad's house that I felt overwhelmed by mine. We still have 2 wheelchairs, mobility scooter and other aids. DB trying to find charger for charger for electric wheelchair.
14 items picked up (returns for DD nursing stuff that doesn't fit) counting as in my house and I get the refund as ordered! few bits of small rubbish, 2 art supplies in CS bag, moving things for decorator who I have confirmed for Monday. it's ceilings in 2 rooms so lots of moving for small amount of decorating!
@EnergyShifter, love your garden space and inspires me to find peaceful corners somewhere !
