I hopped on the train some time ago but I got lost amongst the carriages somewhere! What actually happened was that my other half had a week's holiday and we decided to decorate the living room. We then went on holiday in May and so that meant that I didn't have time to get into the habit of posting regularly. It was so rude of me after your warm welcome. Now that I have emerged I shall endeavour to post regularly. I shall also try to look back on your posts as I do find them helpful.
The decorating scenario meant that the house was really topsy turvy with stuff either put in the dining room, shed or one of the bedrooms (the one that was already in a mess anyway). The painting is complete, however, we need new flooring (and in the dining room) and that is still to be sorted. I've therefore not put everything back into the living room as I don't want to take everything back out again when we finally get around to the flooring. I also didn't want to put anything back in the room that I don't want in there anymore. For example, we have both got tired of seeing the same pictures on the walls and so I've only rehung one painting that I love. The other 2 are in the dreaded bedroom awaiting to go up in the loft. When OH goes up in the loft for me, I want him to bring another picture down that we used have in the LR some years ago and which I think will look good with the current decor/furniture. We will also need new curtains. We don't rush over these things!
In the background I have kept up with selling items on Vinted and EBay although sales have been almost none existent since my holiday but I guess that is down to the current financial climate.
I have done bits of sorting here and there but I can't remember exactly what now!
My next plan of action is to watch some of the decluttering videos that have been mentioned on here and hopefully they will motivate me...

Hi all, yesterday was nice and sunny again and I managed most of the other half of the patio, the green waste bin is now full again, it will be collected next Tuesday so hopefully it will drop enough to take a bit more by then. 2 loads of washing done and line dried. I was going to jet wash lovely neighbour's front but I got so hot I had to go and lie down in the cool.
Today I have been up early and visited the local RMT picket line for a couple of hours, just back now with a coffee, OH was still asleepeven though it was early I am still hot so having a little rest and I will get the jet wash going
Take care everyone8 -
Frog completed, a reply to some queries from my compensation solicitor. I had to re-read some medical reports and although it was relatively simple, I feel horrible and stressed.

Hi peeps.🤦♀️ I have steeled myself this morning and weighed myself. I have been putting it off for months. Oh dear o dear. I have put on the 2 stone that I lost last year. I know why. I am an emotional eater and had sad things to deal with earlier in the year. So I have to turn the trend. Today I will start to treat myself better by eating better food.Putting laundry away today ousted a coat that I have only worn once and a pair of shoes Mr V says he will never wear again. I will drop them off at the chazzer when I go to a nearby town to pay the balance on our August break.Builders are cracking on with a small retaining wall in the front garden as it slopes a bit. They have put foundations in for the new stone steps. When they dismantled the old steps yesterday they found a couple of old grave stones had been incorporated. I have asked them to use them in a seat that I want in a raised bed.Vx:10

Life has got in the way recently, we were broken into back in April so have rejigged the living room so you cannot see any valuables (Mr Puppy's ps5 was stolen). This inevitably led to a shift and a coffee table has been relocated upstairs to hold my dolls house - so although it is not out of the house, there is a nice space where it used to be that a chair was moved to so the living room looks bigger now as well. Of course said chair has been taken over as a cat bed...
Also decluttered lots of (planned) money on a holiday to Malta to celebrate 3 years worth of birthdays for Mr Puppy, including his 30th. I opened a Chase account for the card spending abroad and have also shifted some savings there to earn more interest - a digital reshuffling if you will.
I have also been through mine and Mr Puppy's wardrobes a bit ruthlessly and have taken 3 bags plus 2 mirrors to the charity shop. Ultimately I would like to get rid of one of the 4 chests of drawers we have - I still have far too many clothes but am loathe to get rid too much as I am slowly losing weight and so will cycle through a couple of sizes.
I also finally got rid of a cardboard box I had been holding onto for about a year - we're not planning on moving any time soon so I do not need it. Sometimes silly things like that just seem to hang around and you don't even realise.
Good luck to those of you who have many many years worth of stuff, remember it wasn't all accumulated in a year, so it makes sense it will take time to get rid of it. I also have to remember that applies to weight loss - I didn't put the weight on in a couple of months, so it won't come off so quickly either 😔

Hi
well no trip round to mums today. Felt I needed a day away.Caught up with a friend in the morning and then in the afternoon I tackled my own bedroom which has been a bit of a dumping ground last few weeks. I mentioned the other week I’d brought round two chest of drawers that I’d upcycled. So the dressing table and bedside tables are now out in garage till I decide what to do with them. Both op-shop purchases in Australia years ago so don’t owe me anything but DD2 said she wanted to hang on to them for now.I’ve a basket of stuff for charity shop and a bag of clothes that can get dropped off at clothes bank tomorrow.
Paper and plastic recycled. In my life before my mum died I’d bought a large dolls house from a charity shop that had I presume been in someone’s loft for many years and needed finished. So I had started to renovate it , have painted about a third outside and most of inside. Then I was working full time, then I had laryngitis and then mum died and it’s just sat there. And it’s still, sitting there but I’ve tidied up the pots of paints and tools. So I think that might be my light relief from everything else going on.Anyway bedroom is much better than it was this morning and I can relax in it instead of being stressed as there was so much stuff!11 -
@mhagster a break is good. I had to clear my step mothers it was in the first lock down so it felt Like a bit of break going there but still very hard.
I have had to catch up again. The broadband wasn’t working properly at my MIL house and looking at it on my phone was just too difficult. I lost inspiration down there too but had a nice time with my daughter and her husband. I really should have done a bit more clearing though
I caught up with everyone’s decluttering last night and felt inspired so I looked through some of the books on the bookshelves and picked 10 for recycling. I am having the lounge decorated in October and it would be nice to go from 3 bookshelves to 2.
This morning I tackled a massive frog(hope I have this right) and send off my grant of probate with a stinking letter to the P*********. Let’s hope they send my money soon. Last company to sort and they have put every obstacle in the way. Sent special recorded delivery so they cannot claim not to have received it. Then took the large bag full of bits to the CS.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D8 -

5 more no spend days to meet my target and a few days off work next week, nicely timed so I can go to some local art events.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday was overcast all day but with only a few drops of rain. It was another lazy day. DSis had a bath. I wrote a shopping list for DH who went shopping. Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes. Wudupa.
