Progress a bit slow here. Sounds great in US - so glad the SDs got there without hassle. My DD in Europe this week and all seems to have gone ok. DS2 has a week off work and seems to be doing well with new medication. Gone off to see his old friends as we don't have children now until weekend. I have written a list of jobs to do around the house eg decorating etc which he asked for and the children then added to it.
771 Plastics to recycling
772 Garden waste to tip
773 Garden waste bag thrown away as well as its had rough metal parts which were giving me splinters
774 Large cardboard boxes to recycling
775 Printer cartridge to recycling
776 Last piece of missing fascia replaced by DS2 - seems to be staying in place
777 More drive cleaning - still some moss there - DS2 planning to go over it again at weekend
778 Random weeding
779 Lost 5lbs in weight from my first target of 28lbs. (there is more after that if I get to 28)
780 Vegetable steamer sold
781 Brake pads changed - hopefully new ones will not continue to squeak. No charge as only done in March.
782 DGD4's school trip in September - last instalment paid off as I said I would pay for it.
783 Some trips booked for later in year
784 Car insurance renewed - had to ring - turned out they had tried to take money from old bank card despite having new card details on their system.
Beautiful walk yesterday with stunning rhodedendrons. Quiz and another group meeting today. Car to main dealer to look at problem tomorrow. I found their receipt from 11 months ago for the same thing when they said there was nothing wrong.

Not caught up properly as RL and lots of paid work has kept me busy day and evening. On a mission to build up mortgage overpayment fund by July when current deal ends.
I was in the office yesterday but i did recycle 3 crisp packets and dropped off one bag to the CS - had about 15 items in it.
Can't remember if i posted on here but i also cleared out one drawer which had various random stuff - DD1's birthday cards from when she was 2 - she is now 27! Also shredded old payslips. Cleared out a handbag and threw away some very old sanitary products - not had to use those for over 10 years so that's how long they had been in there oops! I have quite a few handbags, I like them all, so i'm using a different one each day depending on my outfit or how the mood takes me

Glad your holiday's got off to such a great start SDs - and that you also had a good time, @weenancyinAmerica . Like you, I'm not sure I'll ever meet up with anyone from here in real life, but it just goes to show that you never know! Do you go to visit the place where your family has history often? Or is it too far away?I never feel that I've done enough, but yesterday I got most of the insurance claim out of the way and tidied everything away for DD's stay here. I also took some recycling down to the bin.I've had a fairly productive morning - more stuff to recycling and rubbish to the bins. I cleared out the car and have decluttered it to the garage for repairs. I'm not counting the brand new Skoda replacement that arrived as clutter though!I have to go down to the allotment and do some work today, what with Covid and its after-effects I'm quite behind, plans to catch up were knocked on the head by the car business and there's an inspection on Saturday. Eek! It's nice and sunny so far, so hopefully I'll be able to get something sorted...Have a good day all - and I hope your holiday just gets better and better, Mrs SDA budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Finally have transport so two black bags and a normal carrier bag went to the CS this morning and after that, a bootful of cardboard, old fold up table, some metal, electric blanket, some leads, broken greenhouse glass and a pillow went to the dump, which is coincedentally very near a garden center where myself and a friend went. Recluttered the boot with a blackburrant and redcurrant bush, some geraniums and a couple of packets of seeds, and some celery. Very happy I can finally buy some compost which will be tomorrows jaunt...How nice you got to meet weenancy Mrs SD, enjoy your holiday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Welcome @sammy_kaye18 This is a really safe place to get support with your decluttering. Even if you start with just one thing, area or corner you will feel a ton better.
Yay @TC77: frogbuster supreme
Sounds like a lovely meetup Mrs SD and @weenancyinAmerica
Thankyou @EnergyShifterMore done today. I feel tired but am sleeping well because of it. I have put my needs first for a while and concentrated on what I need to do. Always feeling like I am never finishing anything and can't start on my other dreams so it is time.
I hope you were ok down the allotment @basketcase. Go for some easy wins and take regular breaks. Stop when you are feeling tired. You will not be able to fully do what you to do but if you over do it you may be out of action for weeks.
You know why my name is what it is now
So today has been another sucessful and busy day.
Dropped 1 of my bags and 1 in and out to the refugee support place.
Dropped off 2 bags of metal, a bag of batteries, light bulbs, 2 bags of general rubbish of mine and two bags of in and outs to the tip.
One large item gone sold online.
Been down the plot with DS2 who finally finished moving a massive pile of soil I had been working on, cleared more weeds from path edges and dug up more of my grass path.
More to do tomorrow but the back it is broken.
Right, time for a cuppa and to update my signature.

Sadly it's been an unproductive week.We were prepping for the arrival of a new rescue cat (he arrived yesterday and seems a happy little soul) but got completely side swiped by our eldest cat having a severe stroke on Saturday and leaving us.We took all her senior food to a local cat rescue centre on Sunday.Hopefully our shelving arrives next week so we can move forwards.May you find your sister soon Helli.
Sleep well.11 -
basketcase - it's actually only about thirty-five miles from here but getting there involves a lot of traffic. I used to go every year, but they have put the new Forum where the basketball team plays and Hollywood Park where the races are and several other busy sites around the cemetery. The bus driver told me yesterday that his aunt sold her old two-bedroom house near it for over a million dollars - the property values have gone up so much there. And I haven't been to visit the high school where my Dad went or places like that. I should go and take pictures of some of the places as soon as possible. The house my grandparents lived in is still there. I have been to the places where earlier ancestors even back in the 1600s and 1700s lived and taken pictures. For some reason I haven't done the recent family homes and churches. It may make my "vacation" for the next year. Yesterday to meet with Mrs. S_D was the first "vacation" I have had in about 7 years.12

1. Make the most of chance meetings & conversations
2. Enjoy every day regardless of the weather 😉3. Remember that DH & I are in the fortunate position to be able to afford a holidayThursday has started grey & overcast again. We have showered, dressed & had breakfast by 9:30 a.m. and currently sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for our room to be cleaned. DH & I are still ‘buzzing’ about our meet up with weenancy 🙂 Forgot to mention yesterday that weenancy gave us a present & it has come in useful already 👏🙂Back shortly to cheerlead 😉
weenancy, I am so extraordinarily happy that you enjoyed our meet up & apologies that your journey to us was so convoluted 😔 We had such a great time chatting to you & I wish you every success in your washing up lessons for your roommate 🍀 Hopefully she will take to it like a duck to water 😉
florianatwobob, EnergyShifter, Deni_debt-free_dreamer, bit_by_bit, -taff - I would heartily recommend meeting up with a fellow declutterer if an opportunity arises 🙂GrannyKate, all that work and you think progress is slow 🤔 Excellent decluttering imho 👏 Yippee to finding the garage receipt for the non existent car problem 😉 nice to be armed with irrefutable evidence 👏Back again in a few minutes 🙂
We went back to our room & sadly it had not been cleaned even though housekeeping was only 2 rooms away when came down to the lobby ☹️ DH phoned & we are now in the lobby again drinking coffee & awaiting room clean 🤞Nice to see you Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👋 Martin would definitely approve of overtime working to build up mortgage overpayment fund - very MSE 👏 I take it you have not been lucky enough to find any cash in your handbags 😉
Thanks basketcase 👏 I have to say that we are both very glad that DH accidentally booked an extra day in the hotel as we are definitely feeling more human & we got to meet weenancy 🙂 I forget where you are basketcase 🙄 it might be that you could get to meet a fellow declutterer 🤞Excellent work sorting out the insurance 👏 & good luck with the allotment 🍀 is there anyone who can lend a hand so that the committee will leave you alone 🤞
Excellent work -taff 👏 Looking forward to redcurrant & blackcurrant jams appearing in the TLC Carriage 😉😉
bit_by_bit, Lovely welcome to sammy_kaye18 😊 Excellent decluttering & work on the allotment 👏 always nice when you can get assistanceTripleH, Sorry to hear about senior cat crossing the ‘rainbow bridge’ (borrowed from another thread) ☹️ New rescue cat will be a comfort though, I hope.weenancyinAmerica, Fingers crossed that you can get the photos before any more ‘improvements’ are made 🤞
