2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD

@Mrs SD - although I hit my chest hard on the wardrobe I was surprised to find that I woke with really bad pain in the other shoulder blade - I guess it must have absorbed the impact. Too sore for any cleaning etc nor could I sit at computer. I decided this was a good excuse to go out so headed for the antiques centre which I like and had delicious walnut and coffee cake. I did buy a few postcards, picture to frame and a toast rack. I have got rid of numerous toast racks over the years but DGCs were complaining that I have no toast rack when they set table for Sunday breakfast so I spotted a nice china one for £2 and bought it. I will have to find something to leave the house. Cleaning planned for today and maybe quick trip to top up with fuel and drop plastics off for recycling and CS shop. I have some committee frogs to do as well. Frost must have caught porch (like a small conservatory) on one side the other night and I have lost a cucumber plant. Made up some fleece covers and put on last night. Put fleece over seedlings in greenhouse as well.
709 Scanning done
710 Two beds changed
711 More food used up from freezer last night. DS2 is determined on going through it all.2025 Decluttering Campaign 607/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Granny Kate and TC77. 🤕 ouch. Xxx
mothernerd, sounds like a plan to buy next door, even just to stop bad neighbours moving in. I know what you mean about old smoke smell. My aunt gave me a leather chair years ago and it took numerous washes and about a year for the smell to go. We once bought a house with old gold paint work every where. Turns out it had been originally white.Next door being full and in bad repair is a good bargaining tool with the owner. Please factor in finances to get people in to empty the place though. I know how independent you are but trying to do it all yourself isn’t a good idea. A couple of strong people and a skip will be worth their weight in gold.My total leaving the house is about 130 now. About 1 thing per day. I didn’t expect numbers to be this high this year.I am on the home straight with my wool stash, thank goodness. I have done a lot of charity crochet and knitting for a maternity hospital in Africa. I need to rest my wrist as it has developed arthritis. One of the few bones that didn’t hurt already! Bones hurt all the time but a new pain is noticeable. I think in general that the arthritis has all gone up a notch pain wise recently. ☹️Vx:12 -
Granny Kate & TC77 - owwwww ! Sorry to hear about your accidents - I hope you both start feeling better soon x

I swear stuff keeps breeding in my house. I keep thinking I'm done and then I find some moreAnyway, decided I'd better pull myself together and accept that I have to work now, so I took the monitor sent by work out of the biggest box you'd ever seen and got myself set up. Then whilst I was there I attacked a bit more of the dumping ground by:
- Chasing up people who haven't responded on the buy nothing site (honestly, it sometimes feels harder to give things away for free...)
- Cutting up 4 huge cardboard boxes for the recycling
- Gathering all the stuff that was in the attic pile and put it in there (and took a few things out as I have a policy that I am not allowed to go up there without finding 1 thing to declutter!)
- Listed a few more things on the buy nothing site
- Packaged up something to return and pulled out the massive pile of soft plastics to recycle - both of these are by the door as they will be dropped off at the local shop when I do the school/nursery run later.
- Opened a couple of unexciting parcels (cleaning stuff, toiletries etc) and put them away.

Pulled myself up by my bootlaces today and completed another frog as I shredded all the OOD paperwork ( 1998-2002 ) for my late MiL which has been waiting for someone's my attention for ages ! I sorted the top of my craft table and have emptied the bin of bits of wood, paper and material that I collected from around the craft room. All DH's mini tools etc have been relocated to their rightful places and bag of rags have been put in his shed. We've put the paints and brushes back in the office but I think that will have to be the next place to tackle as it's fast becoming the dumping ground again 🤨 One empty tin of glue has been put in the recycling box. All the sawdust which was covering everything in a fine film, even up under the cover on my sewing machine 😠 has been dealt with.
I swapped all my elastics, fasteners, pins and safety pins to an empty tin ( a better shape and the overflow from my sewing basket ) and the old Roses tin has gone in the recycling. I worked my way through my fabric stash, which is dwindling nicely and I found some small pieces that I can use to make DGD some toy horse blankets. I'll have to use glue though as my hands will no longer allow me to sew, can't even thread a needle now without a prolonged struggle 😟. With that in mind I thought what's the point of keeping so much fabric ? Therefore some bits have gone out too, no longer will I save bits of fabric just for Justin.
Hugs to the poorly ones and anyone in need especially those in the TLC carriage.
Take care all

Good work on the shredding... I put that job off too. I remember my parents shredding for months on end when they emptied my nan's house! I must do my shredding soon....!

Went back downstairs to put lunch in the oven. Whilst it was cooking I went back outside and finished painting the metal shelves and then did part of the wooden shelves. After lunch I went back to paint. Took the ripped polytunnel cover to put over a row of 3 bins to make a painting station. Took the pruning saw and cut off 6 side shoots from the weed trees (various thickness from 3/4" to 1+1/2", Did a bit more on the two bigger ones - more room to manoeuvre with the pruning saw. A small carrier bag was amongst the litter and dead leave so filled it with bits of litter. Put the bit of shed in next door's yard to smother more of the nettles.
Back to the cabinet. Disaster - the trailing polytunnel cover must have caught the paint can, lid came off and a puddle of paint was growing by the minute. Used a large piece of a broken tray to scoop paint into the can and a mushroom box. used the paint that was still on the floor to paint the underside and back of the cabinet - doesn't have to be beautiful, just proof against the weather. Used the paint from the lid, mushroom box and finally the can to paint 16 boards (4 x 8', 3 x 4', 9 ex double bed slats 4'6" long). one flat side and both edges then started at the beginning and painted the other side. Painted the 2 little drawers that belong to the cabinet (will use separately) and then laid the cabinet on its back on the small cobble wall so I could get at some difficult to reach bits.
2 lots of paint used up + mushroom box and pieces of broken tray to go in the bin. Had intended doing a litter pick and a bottle pick but absolutely exhausted - wanted to cry at one point but didn't think it would help, so just carried on. Used rainwater that had gathered at the bottom of a large bin to peel/ rub paint off me - it comes off fairly easily but if you aren't careful all the tiny flakes can attach themselves to the bath or shower.
Inside, stripped off, wellies off and sat my stool in the bath to shower. Using scraps of antiseptic cream, arnica for the spectacular bruise on my ankle, plasters for the thorn/ splinter and the slice of missing fingernail and various sample size creams for hands, feet, dry patch on my elbow and any other bits crying out for attention. 27 for today (after the early morning work) total 1512/ 2022.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10
