I had a busy weekend cleaning the house so not much decluttering was accomplished unless you can count dust ! DH and I pulled out our bed too and I shamefully decluttered rather a lot of dust from the back of that 😮 All the washing was done and line dried plus I washed my fluffy dressing gown and the valance off the bed.
Today we looked after the DGC as both of their schools were on an inset day and I finally decluttered the extra stables and the tack room buildings that DH made for DGD. DD has now stipulated "no more stables ! " and I agree with her as DGD's bedroom is so full of horsey stuff you can hardly see the floor when it's all out 😱 ( she's horse mad ) On the plus side my craft room is starting to look tidy again.👏
I have put 2 full green waste bins out for collection tomorrow and thrown out 3 pairs of knickers with loose elastic 😱 and 2 odd socks ( I kept the socks for Justin but no mates have come forward as yet )
Take care fellow declutterers

Hi folks. Hope everyone is ok.Wee Nancy, you work so hard. I do hope you get more time for yourself now.Bit by bit I read that you recycled your MIL🤣.My mil is back in hospital. Been in and out several times since I last mentioned her.Today I spring cleaned the sitting room. Moved and cleaned all the furniture, cleaned all the glass, washed the floor and put some ornaments away and some in a bag for a carboot. When Mr V gets home I want him to take the large mirror down off the chimney breast to see if I prefer it without. I have taken stuff off the wall that I just hung when we moved in on nails that were already there. All building updates of the sitting room are done for the time being. Whilst looking for cleaning stuff under the sink I ousted some surplus stuff for rehoming. I will give the kitchen the same treatment this week.I am continuing to use up toiletries and cleaning materials. I am also using up scented candles. No builders today. They should be back later in the week.Take care all. Vx:11

@bit_by_bit thank you for your hugs. Sadly more in need know - I was up early and went to put things back in the room I decorated, but there's a plastic mat thing for office chair - very slippy and not flat, went flying and fell back on all the furniture in middle of the room, grabbed something to stand up, but slipped again and again so massive bruises down my back
arm and leg abit twisted - couldn't see bruises but a friend popped round and took a photo and kept fussing over me - hoping I will sleep.
Did motivate me - wicker drawers put on freesite and picked up
Bag to CS bag with 2 more things added, 4 things in new CS bag
Hall shoe rack/bench put by cat area and can keep box of cat food etc
cracked bowl out
Little done on major frogs but finally confirmed colours for proper decorators
ood food out
a few emails, filing and tidying up

Definitely the Monday blues today and no time to do anything. I did do some decluttering yesterday and this evening I went through and deleted a bunch of old files from my home laptop. Made me feel a bit better!
101-9 digital photos
110-111 - too small baby clothes discovered at the bottom of a bag
112-154 - very old digital bank/CC statements and a load of old digitally downloaded files
@dustydigger did you know there is a sequel called Allan Quartermain? I have that too, but can’t actually remember what happens in that one (which probably means it wasn’t nearly as good). Heidi I haven’t read since a child, but that was a whole set of books. Same with little women as there was a whole bunch of them, although not as good as the first.2025 decluttering: 2,404🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

Looks I will be doing more work on the Room of Doom for Roommate as she will be coming out with her sister, sister's roommate, and the two nieces, to take things home - so I am getting items in the room separated and ready for her to decide what to take. Gathering up items from the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and her bedroom.
Spent yesterday afternoon and today on Friends of the Library business - getting agenda ready, contacting people, having the meeting, redoing the list of members, and forwarding reports to several people.
Got our weekly trash out also today. One full can of recycling and one full can of trash. Does feel good to get it out of the house, doesn't it.13 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Try again. Mixed day of weather - some sunshine, chilly wind & drizzly rain. Managed to cross several tasks off list: posted letters/cards/voting forms; went to sm; packed away shopping + updated food stores list; wrote & addressed last birthday card for 2022 & DH ordered my new iPad 🥳 DH had a bath to ease his arm pain. Hm soup for my lunch. Dinner was sausages, mash & a tin of plum tomatoes & yes I remembered to update my inventory 😉DSis Wudupa 👏🙂
705 - 710 Kitchen recycling, 2 newspapers, drinks cans, cardboard packaging, glass jar - recycled
711 Kitchen detritus binned
Crossing tasks off your list is still decluttering GrannyKate 🙂 Great work 👏 Ouch to the attack of the wardrobe 😉 hope your bruising isn’t too painful 😓
Good luck with your return to work Fizz2015 🍀 Wishing you every success for the car boot sale 🙂
You are welcome bit_by_bit 🙂 Lovely support for several of our fellow declutterers 👏
Excellent work by both you & DH over the weekend 👏 - sounds exhausting 🥱 What a great way to look at earning enough to pay tax 👏 Sorry you had to recycle MiL 🤣
Good work dustydigger 👏
Me too QueenJess - love both the smell and feel of 2nd hand books 🙂
Excellent work by both you & helper elf, mothernerd 👏 I was exhausted reading about all the work the two of you did over the weekend 😪
nannywindow, cleaning is decluttering + you did your washing & decluttered garden waste 👏
What a supportive post vulpix 🙂 Sorry to hear that MiL is back in hospital ☹️ Excellent work on the spring cleaning 👏 When you are finished, could you please pass on ‘the spring cleaning mojo’ 😉
I love Little Women too, dustydigger 🙂 However, my go to books are Lord of the Rings & The Stand (Stephen King). Although I am still waiting for the last Game of Thrones book & will have to reread the others should Mr Martin ever get around to writing it 😔
Deni_debt-free_dreamer your calm & tidy bedroom was definitely worth the wait 🙂 Keep up the good work with the email decluttering 👏
TC77, so sorry to hear that you failed your Random Gravity Test ☹️ I winced as I read your post 😣 Wishing you a speedy recovery & as little pain as possible in view of the seriousness of the injuries. Please take some time to rest & recuperate 🙏
Regardless of the Monday blues, great work on the decluttering you did do 👏
weenancyinAmerica, Sorry to hear that you have more work to do on/in the Room of Doom 😔 but at least you will be able to bump your numbers up with so much leaving 👏 Also rather pleased to hear that you won’t be responsible for shipping items to Missouri 🙂 It is about time other people chipped in with some work 😉 Agree it is a lovely feeling when recycling & trash are off the premises 👏🙂
See everyone later - sleep tight 😴

Forgot to mention I swept all the broken glass into my jute bag, hadn't taken the rubble sacks I bought so it's not double bagged yet and there's a bit more glass by the back door. I also forgot the little tomatoes in my roast veg so it was 12 f & v.
Been quite lazy but as I was awake before 6 am I decided it was justified. Have been outside since, made a start on cutting down two of the weed trees and used all the broken off gate slats to cover some of the nettles and other weeds in next door's yard (empty, the tenant died, the landlord is fed up I think, there are bin bags in the yard and a couple of chairs but inside is still chock full).
I'm thinking more and more that I would like to buy it (for the right price, of course). Over the years there have been many strange tenants - one family had weekly visits from the police, a mother and son were dealing drugs and had gangs of teenagers causing mayhem at weekends (total strangers kept coming up to me offering congratulations when they finally moved out). I think I'm getting too old to cope with those sorts of shenanigans.
It's not habitable atm and can't be rented out (tenant was a heavy smoker and everything is brown). My idea is to buy it, do it up as I want it (I need a stairlift, a new kitchen - current one is 18 years old and at some point a bath I can get in and out of or a proper walk in shower if I stay here, so that expenditure is already committed). I'd be starting with a clean slate once the original clean up/ clear out was done (not underestimating that task - it took 18 months- 2 years to rid my dad's house of the ingrained smoke).
On the plus side DS3 and Beloved would have their own space, I'd have mine, the furniture divided up would be manageable. I'd still have the rent on this place and they could take over the bills (DS3 is earning enough to cover this, maybe have to have fewer takeaways but they can cook, just need to be more organised about it). They would still be there if I needed help and I can still chivvy them to keep the place in order (just not be stuck in the middle of it).
I have a slight niggle about going from dire poverty to being a property magnate (I'm likely to end up with mum's tenant of 28 years, who lives in my grandma's house). But when I died, I'd have 3 houses to leave my 3 sons so they could have one each and just adjust any price differences - then sell or rent out (and DS3 and Beloved would continue to live in their's - don't think they've got the gumption to organise moving).
Anyway after my early morning work, I'm now safely back on the bed with cheese, pickled onions and apples and not planning to do anything strenuous for a while (I've moved the broken paving slab and half bricks into the top of the black bin to squash the contents). claiming 10 points for this morning's work and the adjustments to my total for the other days. 1485/ 2022. DS3 did the meter readings for me so will declutter those next.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10
