LOL @vulpix
No MiL safely in her home, not recycled yet
@TC77 My Dsis fell on one of those but didn't get checked out in A&E until 10 days after; she had broken her ankle. A clot from that killed her. If you are stuggling please please get checked out. Also remove the rug. Next time you may not be so lucky. Sorry to be alarmist.
Everyone is so busy despite their bodies battling back.
So not much done yesterday. Stuff in the car to be delivered to various places e.g DS2, CS and allotment. Slowed down a bit as tired out but up this morning with the rest of the (working) house.
I did book a some accomodation for our Canada trip next month. We are averaging £33.00 a day which isn't bad. Using the Airy bnb.
Today i am in the garden and on the allotment. We have had a long period without rain so now watering regularly.

Been away 3 days and found a huge number of new posts to read! Brilliant! You are all busy bees.I am having a total immune system meltdown, whole body is in revolt. Starting at the top I have - ear infection, sore mouth, swollen gums, stuffy nose and sore eyes from pollen allergy(just sneezed 15 times in a row),painful right shoulder, arm and elbow, curled up hand from arthritis (though thats improving a bit,it has straightened enough to use laptop at least for a short while),water infection.(I had a miserable night with severe chills keeping me awake),lower back pain, and my right knee is really painful,so its back to using a stick in the house, which is no fun.I keep dropping it then go through back agony trying to pick it back up!Add brain fog and lack of focus(put salt in Mr Ds weetabix instead of sugar! He was so not amused
)and things arent too good. Sad thing is I am so used to most of it I just accept it. Only looks impressive when I write it down like this.
Only decluttering was a few sheets of paper and a book, but did get Mr D to sort out old newspapers from his ''den''and he put them in the recycle bin.He thinks he has saved the world11 -
@kim65 There are people even though "money is no object" (in our perception possibly) they still make choices to live their own life frugally. We don't know their circumstances. Even here too, we all have different levels of finances and debt. Been there with the good incomes for many years yet wasted as much too which became debt. I am so happy for people when they are younger than we were when the realisation of need to sort this mess out. Many years were spent snowballing debt down which is good for our mental health too. We are now champions of our own decluttering whether that be financial or physical. Good luck on your journey with us too.
Since my last post I have decluttered my tatty head at the barbers with a reduced price too for some slight inconvenience when I arrived a couple of times. Win win.
5 piles of ironing completed and put away. (this was done in stages this week - based on only using 1 fill of water at a time - this was done so much quicker and the iron was not left on whilst putting away) I am seriously contemplating not ironing at all till item is needed - having said that it is very rare an item will or as ever needed pressing again.
Looking in the "junk drawer" for something and ended up binning some more items and some for recycling pennies from the e boy.
DH changed a perished plug on the extension from the cooker. Don't ask it was like that when we moved in clearly questionable.
2 odd socks out
Decluttered the mis-placed to where they should be.
Identified multiples under the sink - still!! managed to decant some leftovers into new bottle.

Definitely back on the decluttering wagon (it goes in phases with me). Despite being "finished", I've still found more to declutter!164 - 168 - packing materials (I hate throwing these away and so get overrun with them. I've been using them to put my buy nothing stuff into for people to pick up, so the pile is slowly eroding!)169-170 - 2 digital songs deleted from my phone171 - 178 - children's books179 - baby toyAt this rate my 500 target won't be enough.. nothing is safe from my decluttering2025 decluttering: 2,480🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday was another sunny day but with a very chilly wind. Spent some time dealing with my finances & personal paperwork - phoned bank & paid my cc bill, checked account transactions & ordered a new cheque book. Updated my paper records. Then got a call from my nephew in France - he is trying to update his residency status & I had offered to fund him - so 2nd call to bank to transfer some euros to help him out. Updated my main To Do list, wrote a menu plan & shopping list. New iPad delivered so will get DH to set up & transfer data. Also did a 10 minute stint in the garden weeding & deadheading. DH attended an optician’s appointment - no change to prescription 🥳 DSis had a bath having spent most of the day in her room. Lunch was hm soup for me & DH 😋 & a sausage sandwich for DSis. Dinner was fried chicken, boiled potatoes & sweetcorn - still remembering to update inventory 😉 Wudupa.
Wednesday is very cold & overcast - I have had to put the heating back on 😞. Serendipity strikes - I needed a new double oven glove & guess what - a knock on the door & my chap was there with his basket of items 🥳 New oven glove bought & old one binned - a perfect example of one in, one out 😅 I do need to go shopping again ☹️
712 - 715 Kitchen recycling, booklet, glass jar, newspaper - recycled
716 - 718 Kitchen detritus, ruined oven gloves, 0.5” shredding - binned
mothernerd, 12 f&v is about a week’s worth for my DSis 😉 - DH & I do rather better as we eat my hm soup which is packed full of vegetables 🙂 Excellent work in the garden 👏 A major decision whether or not to buy next door but I am positive you will make the right decision for you 🙂
GrannyKate you really must be more careful 😉 I hope that your pain will pass quickly without the need for too many painkillers 🤞 Meanwhile please take it easy 🙏 more of the trips out & less of the bed changing 🙂
Excellent & thoughtful advice vulpix 👏 Also great decluttering - one item a day as maintenance decluttering sounds about right 😉 Well done on clearing your wool stash 👏
Sorry to hear about your arthritis - the weather we have been having is probably the reason the pain factor has gone up ☹️
Nice post EnergyShifter 🙂
QueenJess you are absolutely correct - clutter breeds - along the same lines that the wm eats socks 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 especially good news that you have cleared the room by about a third - no wonder you are excited 😆
Wow you have been busy nannywindow - a great deal of decluttering & tidying 👏 Sorry to hear about your hands making it difficult/impossible to sew ☹️ & I admire your decision to dispose of some of your fabric stash 🙂
That is one of the many things I love about this thread QueenJess - someone always reminds us of tasks that need doing 😉 Btw I owe you a Gold Star ⭐️ which I should have awarded when you reached 125/500 😉
Floss what nice employers 🙂
EnergyShifter sounds like you have been fortunate with your therapist and the first session appears to have invigorated you 🙂
Wow mothernerd I am exhausted just reading about all the work you have 👏 no wonder you are exhausted 😩 I understand you wanting to get so much done but please, please take care 🙏 I worry that you are going to do yourself a serious mischief 😟 Is there anyone who can help you? I am getting very remiss in making awards 😔 one Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way for reaching 1512/2022 👏
GrannyKate, pleased to hear that your sore shoulder is gradually getting better 🙂 You have my permission to do gentle cleaning but that is all 🙃 Seriously though, please take care 🙏
bit_by_bit, I believe you about your MiL - thousands wouldn’t 😉😉 Sorry about your DSis but thank you for sharing such a sad memory. A timely reminder to us all to get medical issues checked out asap. You must be getting very excited about your trip to Canada 😊 I love Canada - have been fortunate enough to go twice - once solo & once with DH 🙂 Also thanks for the reminder about watering 👏
dustydigger, I am constantly surprised by how much decluttering is being done this year 😲 - in previous years the decluttering has slowed round about March 😉 So very sorry to hear that your body is in revolt ☹️ but exceedingly impressed that you are still managing to cope 👏 Any chance of MrD lending a hand & doing something to ‘save’ you rather than the planet 😉
What a great post 2Scratters 👏 I absolutely adore your comment “We are now champions of our own decluttering whether that be financial or physical” Excellent decluttering 👏
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 I really need to work hard to get into the same mindset of “nothing is safe from my decluttering”

Hi all, well in the past few days all I have decluttered is money. Monday was a trip to the dentist to repair a broken tooth and then lunch with OHs sister and bil, very nice
. Yesterday was a haircut which was badly needed, I had a head like a burst couch and today was a trip to the sm. Now I am off to the footy again so apart from 2 loads of washing on the line very little else done today.
Take care everyone12 -
@bit_by_bit , so tragic about your sister, my heart goes out to you, and really appreciate you sharing. I do think I just have bruises on my back and luckily the soft squidgy bits and not spine...but I have made a face to face appt with my GP on Friday (have another complaint they can check out). It has shocked me, working hard on major frog this evening but did take more to CS and added few items, 3 folders, exercise equipment, DD1 things picked up from her (not counted), 2 clothing items, odd shoe for recycling and other textiles +8
item sold (about to take to CS) and packaged up, and 2 more boxes recycled (as giving most away and have shelves of packaging)
This covers yesterday when cleaned plugs and plugholes, a few items in shed and put away (count each 15 mins as 1) +8
Few more small bits binned and put in right place +2
Total 639
Hoping to get to 700 but 660 will be ok by end of the month/bank holiday as need to clear rooms for decorating starting on Tuesday.(the professionals not me)
First upholstery lesson yesterday took small rocking foot stool from my dad's - resisted taking a long foot stool from my brother - can't imagine three people on a sofa all wanting to put their feet on the same stool! Apologies if already posted this.
@GrannyKate hope you are on the mend and Mr SD and others I know who are suffering.12 -
Another 10 mainly toiletries/make up of DD1 but as left in my house counting - picked up from free site, and also moved major frog to next step!! 64912
