@QueenJess, don’t feel envious of my email decluttering. I blitzed my ‘grown up’ email address and deleted all the emails relating to a charity I volunteered with. I stepped down as chair last year and then stepped away due to time constraints and most of the emails were waffle. It was quite liberating deleting them all.

@floss thank you for the reminder about 'gardening clothes. I made a no of door snakes but not quite big enough. another sock and glove added for textile recycling. very soft vest being kept as a duster, cardigan to CS pile, along with filing trays, soap dispenser, put tester paint on wall. - can't decide what off white to put with dulux tranquil dawn - they all look the same alabaster white, panel white, white mist!! Changed big kitchen clock (involves climbing on a chair so a month late) and cleaned it of sticky kitchen stuff, 2 dead plants, out, more decorating stuff, excess kitchen supplies to DD1 although she has given me pile of things for CS - some were must haves for her flat a few months ago but going to bite my tongue. +12
Frog moved forward for DD1
Rang bank
few weeds
ood food
Finished unpacking from trip
Contact made with old friend
Things put in their place

This has been a strange week. Still working on the Room but it looks like I will be sorting it to pack up to mail to her, as she and her father decided we couldn't help her enough for her to stay here. So she is staying in Missouri.
We made it through the book sale and are now set up for the next book sales with the books arranged on carts by subject. Spent two days this last week adding new stuff to the right shelves.
Not only has she left, but the Grandmother and her grandson that we were taking to doctors' appointments and to their movie on Fridays are in Colorado for at least a few months, if not permanently. I may be helping her daughter move their stuff to Colorado as she isn't sure if they will be coming back here. The Grandma had what looked like a stroke. Her daughter came out last Sunday and by Tuesday they were back in Colorado.
Looks like the dog is going to have to have private lessons at home as she couldn't be controlled at the lessons at the pet store this morning.
The temperature will be over 40 degrees Celsius here for the next couple of days - and we don't have air conditioning.
All in all a strange week.
Went to a Mystery Author's Luncheon where four cozy writers came and talked about writing their books. We have one each year, and it was very good. This has been the highlight of my month so far.14 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday was a sunny day but rather chilly unless in direct sunlight 🤔 Apart from writing a shopping list & doing 10 minutes of gardening I did nothing apart from sleep & watch TV. DH watched the MotoGP races & slept, DSis watched TV in her room & slept - shame on all of us 😔 DH is still suffering with itching & pain in his arm. The hm soup was very nice. I stirred my stumps enough to make dinner - oven chips, oven cooked burgers & baked beans - not exactly healthy but minimal effort required 😉 Wudupa
701 - 702 Kitchen recycling, Uu wu bottle - recycled
703 - 704 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Great work TC77 👏 Sorry to hear that you are feeling so down but remember you have already proved that you are a successful declutterer 🙂 Waiting for workmen to do their thing is always a pain but once they are finished you can start getting everything back into its rightful place - whether that be in your home or out of the house 🙂
Excellent advise Floss - thank you 👏
Excellent work mothernerd 👏 sounds like a full body workout 😉 Very impressed that you persevered & dealt with items/gubbins immediately 👏 Eleven of your 5 a day 👏
Good ideas -taff 👏
Lovely photo vulpix 🙂
EnergyShifter glad you shook off potential illness 🙂 Sounds like you have had a lovely weekend 👏 Rather jealous of the ‘therapeutic smashing up of demolished shed’ 😂
Excellent decluttering Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏 especially finding in date gift vouchers for DD1 🙂 Thank you for reminding us that if we persevere with our decluttering we too will have calm tidy rooms 👏🙂
So sorry to hear that your hands are causing you both problems & pain dustydigger ☹️ but well done on persevering with your decluttering 👏 What a good result with finding the missing address 🙂 Re the family history, would it be possible for your cousin to visit & help you sort out the information? bonuses being that your work will be in some sort of order & that the info required will be found 🤞
Enjoy your new microwave florianatwobob 🙂
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 seems easier with someone helping 😉 As to your surprise at where all the clutter comes from, I am firmly of the belief that it hides 😂 No need to be jealous of those clearing down lots of email after all you only have 150 to deal with 😉 Very impressed that you have realised your childhood dream of having your own library 👏🙂
Love the idea of deleting emails being liberating florianatwobob 🙂
TC77, who knew there were so many ‘whites’ 😅 I thought there was just white or diamond white 😉 You are sounding a lot more upbeat than your previous post. Great decluttering 👏
A very strange week indeed weenancyinAmerica 🧐🫤 At least all your hard work in the Room will make it easier to forward stuff on to Missouri 🙂 Again well done on all the work sorting books for the book sales 👏 Sending get well wishes to the Grandmother who may also be leaving and staying in Colorado. Your home will seem very quiet unless the husky makes up for the missing people 😉 I really do not envy you 40C temperatures 😥 too hot to move or do anything. The Mystery Author’s Luncheon sounds very interesting & am so pleased that you got to do something just for you 🙂👏

Busy weekend so not much decluttering but a few things done
701 Box of mil papers etc sorted - a few bits gone straight away but the remainder sorted into shoebox size boxes 1) Older photos 2) things to scan and possibly keep 3) More recent family pictures which are probably duplicates of ones in my albums so need to check. Only one large box left now which contains my mother's photos mostly. I will have a small collection of shoebox size sorted things to make final decisions on but better than 20 large mixed up boxes.
702 A few things of local history interest found in boxes which I posted on the Facebook group for the area and had lots of feedback
703 Children identified some broken garden toys which were binned
704 DS2's CDs to loft
705 Another tool sold for £15
706 New washing machine arrived and old one taken away. Catching up on washing now.
707 Unused postcard found in mil's stuff of place I went to with daughter and granddaughter a few weeks ago so I wrote it and posted it to them as a reminder of holiday.
708 Broadband changeover booked by DS2 - I don't deal with these things.
Doing school run this morning then not much on all week after something everyday last week. Walked into wardrobe door in the night - no idea why as it hadn't moved. Really stiff shoulder this morning and I expect some bruises.2025 Decluttering Campaign 604/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Morning All, back to reality of the school run today and my first full week of work in 4 weeks. Going to be a shock to the system. Still working from home but aiming to go into office on a regular basis now.
Finally sorted Dd's passport renewal do another. The pile of clutter for carboot is growing at an alarming rate, will count once definately gone.
My focus today/tomorrow is on toiletries and looking through cupboards and seeing what needs using things up or to be binned.
Will keep a notebook of running totals.
Off to do school run, sending hugs, positive vibes and tlc to those who need them. Fizz x13 -
Thankyou for the ⭐️
and your kind words MrsSD.
Welcome @QueenJess . Good for you on all ypour achievements to the point of maintenance
I feel your pain @charlies_tribe . Recover from clutter is not a linnear thing. There are ups and downs and steps back and forth. When overwhelmed I stick by my phrase of nothing stays the same forever and then go and do a corner.
Big hugs @TC77 . Things will get better. It will be such a relief when all the decorating is over and everything goes back.
Lovely pic @vulpix
Blimey @weenancyinAmerica after all that work too.Maybe you will get some space for yourself now. You deserve a break.
And you will never have to buy cutlery again.
So I have been MIA for a few days again. Mood back to normal now thankfully. I have been loving the sunshine and continue to alternate between house/garden and allotment.
All DS2s washing done and sorted. Some winter coats for the refugees kept for winter but otherwise everything else has gone. I have taken 4 bags of his and 3 bags of my stuff to the refugee centre.
Also took MiL and my soft plastics for recycling, passed on a bagfull of items to various people since posting.
Friday was spent at the allotment sorting out the raised beds, painting some of them and the back of the shed in preparation for a move around. Sunday DH came with me and we did a load of jobs including moving 'furniture', repairs and putting up guttering on my friend's shed. Soo much done and it looks a ton better now.
Today I am resting this morning but out in the garden plus some stuff at the shops later. My list of things is not getting shoreter but the big stuff is reducing and some of the jobs are now easy wins or I can do on my own. More stuff to go hopefully today.
Due to a pension raise I now pay tax again. Glad of this as I can now giftaid everything I give away. The tax I will pay is minimal.

Helper elf came. We went to mum's, she hoovered the bedroom carpet (mostly done previously but I've moved the remaining furniture across so the 'not done' bit was clear, then asked for a clothe to wipe the skirtings (and dusted the radiator). I cleaned the worktop on one side of the kitchen and then decanted the contents of the under sink cupboard (cleaning materials). Put the things I will use to clean/ maintain the bungalow whilst selling it. Filled a bag with things I will use. Collected more from a cupboard in the spare bedroom. Asked elf which of the rest she would use.
Gave her the paracetamol and the little tie tiggies used for plastic bags. She had found two skeins of embroidery floss under the bed. Sat down to have a drink and let her tell me about her recent (bit of a disaster) trip to the USA. Decided that as Wednesday is black bin day (rubbish) we should go outside and see what we could find to fill the bin. Two bin bags of rubbish into the bin, one bag of plastic bottles to come back home with me to go in my brown bin, one bag of useful garden bits (bottles I've already cut and added watering spikes onto, small but usable pieces of weed proof fabric, plastic jug, plant labels etc). Some items moved into the garden shed (some painting to be done).
The polytunnel cover was squashed as much as possible and put inside 2 large stacked tubs. Brought 2 garden chairs home with me (mine has gone again and there's a limit to how many things can be dragged across so I can sit on the short cobble walls). I had to stop painting yesterday because the bird food tin was too low for me to sit on but when I put it on top of a tub, I was too high to get at all the bits I needed to paint easily. Mum's yard just needs a good brush now, some stones moved/ hidden, niece to decide what tubs she would like. There will be weeding and planting up (all the bulbs and plants I put in last autumn have died back now) but good progress.
Was hoping to finish off the painting (metal shelves at least - mostly done but need to go over any patches I missed because the sunlight was bouncing off the paint, wooden shelves only about1/3 done) but I'm very tired so it might have to be tomorrow. We put the bin out for collection so I don't need to go to do that tomorrow. Once the metal shelves are in place I can start to move the smaller pots across (all the herbs for starters), leaving me more space to work on the next bit (we left the apple tree behind as I was worried about where it could go. 10 points I think, 1475/2022.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10
