Busy today but not much out so far. Took DD to her little job this morning, then decluttered DS back to University. Have stripped bed in his room, all on way through laundry now. Also various wrappers and plastic bags he had kindly
left behind for me recycled or binned. It's like running a guest house sometimes. 2 additional loads of laundry also through the system. I haven't got very far with taking down Christmas decs, never mind. I hope to report a few items decluttered later, even if it's just a few!

Been in the girls room for half hour again today after giving them a break yesterday. We decided to start on the second of drawers their sister used so they could start putting their own things in as d1 moved out 18 months ago.
It was full of old perfumes/make-up/nail polish a few make up bags that had definitely seen better days (I actuallygave up counting after half filling the bin bag). A lot she was probably given as a child from various family members that they no longer wanted. We did 4 drawers and now d2 is painting her nails with a kit she found. Put some things to one side for d1 but not counting them until they're gone.
Sister rang and fetched a mattress for the bunk as the one they were supposed to be having isn't available. She's ordering one but won't get it until next week and already dismantled the cot. Her DH is going to take it to the tip after, saving my DH a job this week
Living room hoovered, determined to keep it tidy. Just doing some dinner.
42-87 really old make-up/perfumes etc
88 1/2 black bag of rubbish from girls room
89-92 boxes from hairdryers etc that have never been back in the box
93 mattress to sisters
94-95 unicorn ornament and Wall stickers sent to nieces

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks.
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWell I have done precisely nothing so far apart from watch TV in between naps 😔 It has turned very cold so have just turned the heating on.
Anyway back to cheerleading 🙂
Great work EnergyShifter 👏 I think we call it displacement activity 😉 especially if you are letting dealing with your accounts become a frog 😉😉 Is there a deadline for your accounts? Just think of the sense of achievement when your accounts are completed 🥳Deni_debt-free_dreamer, what a great start to your decluttering campaign 👏 & well done on hitting your 10k steps 👏Great work Florianatwobob 👏 Sounds like you and your sister are on the same page re decluttering 🙂 now you just need to get DBro on side 😉I love it Baxtersmum counting down to zero 😉 A novel approach but actually rather practical as the number goes down the space in your home increases 🙂short_bird, Excellent start on both the decluttering & the No Spend Days challenge 👏charlies_tribe, sounds like you haven’t been playing enough Tetris 😉 either that or you bought a few extra decorations 😉😉 Good work on decluttering items from the pet cupboard 👏 What is the betting that you end up with two tweezers 😁Blackberrycurved I have a confession to make 😔 I had taken the liberty of reserving you a seat aboard The 2022 EDT 😁 That is a great list - hopefully the TLC Carriage can help on your journey 🤞 I especially like No. 5 on your list 👏Betharooni, at least it got the heart rate going 😉 I have to disagree - not a tiny start but a good start 👏 & well done on selling items 🙂What a brilliant start to your decluttering campaign, tiddles 👏 and I think the Swedish Death Cleaning Book will be a great help 🙂Great work TC77 👏 The train is definitely starting to fill up but I do have access to extra carriages which can be hooked up quite quickly 😉Welcome aboard nomi01 👋 lovely to meet you 🙂 Sounds like you have made excellent progress already 👏 Hopefully travelling with so many like minded people will keep you on track 🙂Excellent work GrannyKate 👏 Not surprised you ran out of steam going up & down carrying boxes into the loft 😉 but it is done now so time to sit down have a drink & a chat to your fellow declutterers 🙂You have a busy year ahead Marpau 🙂 - decluttering stuff, weight & frogs & having no spend days + decorating - 🤩 Mind you with DH on board - have you brought him with you as would love to meet him - I am positive you will succeed on all counts 🙂👏 As to the champagne incident I am quite jealous that you have more than one bottle 🙃Your seat was already reserved Jollymum 🙂 but the thread is moving along so fast that it is no wonder that your reservation went astray 😉 Now officially welcoming you aboard The 2022 EDT 👋 You have made a great start 👏 and the more items you see leaving your home the easier it will become 🙂 It might feel like a massive task but remember it took a long time to accrue so much stuff so it won’t be gone in a short time 😉 All you can do is take it one day at a time & enjoy the company of your fellow declutterers 🙂You are welcome vulpix 🙂 Thank you so much for my Gold Medal 🥇 Lovely to hear that you had a fabulous Christmas & New Year & that the only waste was some coleslaw 👏 Pleased to hear that you didn’t have to dig out the stream in the top garden on your own 🙂 If you do decide to sell the cottage perhaps you can move into the Manor House 😉😉
Everything crossed that your councillor can get the huge frog sorted 🤞
Absolutely excellent decluttering Guineapigsqueaks 👏 A few years ago when I started my decluttering journey I donated nearly all my vases to the CS but was too brutal ☹️ Of all the items that have gone this has been my only regret 😔
Great work elsien 👏
What a great start Gem-gem over 10% of the way to your target 🤩👏
Great work stellata 👏 Hopefully the enthusiasm aboard the 2022 EDT will help keep you going 😉Excellent work Floss 👏 Sounds like you had fun going through your wardrobe 🙂
Nice to see you villagelife 👋 A great start to your 2022 decluttering campaign especially releasing items to their owners 😉
Seems to be the day for sorting clothes Black Saturn 🙂 Shame I fell behind with the cheerleading as I could do with going through my wardrobe 😉
What a brilliant use of your time balabooberlies 👏☺️ but just three hours 😉 I will bet that when you talk to your cousin again it will be another 3 hour chat 😁 I have noted your goals & quite agree that posting on more than a couple of threads can get complicated & time consuming 😔 so feel free to track your weight loss journey here 🙂👏 after all this is the decluttering thread 😉
Suffolksue, A fellow ABer 🥳 My excuse for keeping playing AB2 is that if you don’t play everyday you can lose lots of rewards & on some parts you have to start from scratch if you miss a day 😉
nomi01, there is no right way or wrong way to approach the decluttering campaign 🙂 Each of us has to find the method that works for us. I am looking forward to following your journey 🙂
Out of charge again 😔MrsSD

I have spent more time in my bedroom ,thinking and sorting and decluttering .
whilst I was looking After DH , his sisters used to send me treats ,posh toiletries, food goodies that he could sometimes enjoy - the last awful 18 months coincided with the start of the pandemic and lockdowns ,his sisters all felt helpless as they were unable to visit ( they’re a v close family and he was the youngest of six ) .Anyway all the presents came in hampers/ wooden trays etc .I’ve kept them all as they will make great containers for presents, raffle prizes etc .
they were all piled on the floor .I’ve relocated them to a newly emptied and cleaned wardrobe in another room .
and the big box of outdoor melamine crockery has gone to the conservatory,if it isn’t used this summer it will go .
is that allowed?
also now have 8 items in the charity bag ,a lot in a charity rag bag ( PDSA happily takes them ) and a lot of rubbish ( not counted. ) has been binned .
itis still a work in progress but already looks better .14 -

Someone mentioned earlier about sentimental items. My sister was given our grandmother’s Spode dinner service but never used it and I was given some paintings that I didn’t have room for on my walls so we did a swap. I use the Spode everyday and got rid of the dinner service I had. So, can you swap anything with other family members? The other thing you can do is photograph items and keep a memory book either physically or digitally which will take up less space than keeping boxes of things which you are unable to display or use.
Showered and dressed properly this morning and met up with sister for a walk. Started tidying the little bedroom - lots of things put away, some general rubbish sorted out and paperwork rounded up and put into a bag for sorting later. No actual decluttering items to count yet but am very pleased with what was achieved today.
OH put up the new shower curtain so bathroom looks a lot brighter and cleaner with the old mouldy one gone.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅14 -
Not much out, but it all helps - 2 bags to the rubbish bin, one to the green bin, possibly 3 bags of cans to go to the recycle point (but a bit too far to go today). Have made it up and down stairs 3 times today, did some basic cooking (lamb remains, stew pack and a couple of extra onions boiled in stock with a few herbs - basic but beautiful). Had a sore throat so decluttered the raspberry sorbet from the freezer. Drinking more water (DS3 filled the 2 bottles I'd emptied with tap water - I was drinking caffeine free coke because it was easier to carry back upstairs. Should be able to do a little more tomorrow. 208/2022.
Hospital phone is still permanently engaged (they will phone me if things worsen). I don't want mum to die but I think she may be ready to go (everything's getting harder for her, she's not been having a lot of fun) and I will accept that. When I was still at the bungalow there were a few days when she was late getting up and I was standing at her bedroom door, trying to work out if she was still breathing. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage16 -

Please can I join. I really want to make a difference to the ‘stuff’ in our home this year. Just looking at the Christmas gifts and knowing there is nowhere for them to go has been a good motivator over the last week.
My goal is the equivalent to one bag/ box a week so 52 in 2022.
Today I have managed to fill one bag and one box to take to the charity shop so a good start has been made.Saving for Christmas 2022 #15 £82 / £365
