2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD

Wow I am impressed at the speed of this train. I am at maintaining level and feel quite envious. I think I got addicted to slinging stuff out.
Mrs SD, Mr V LOVES his work. He has amongst other things worked as a DJ for almost 50 years. If nobody asked him to do a New Years Eve he wouldn't know what to do with himself. You may have unknowingly met, he worked a club in Leicester Square for years.
Bless him. He has a large car stuffed to the roof of DJ equipment that he was given on NYE by the family of someone who has died. He couldn't say no. He says that he will re distribute it. I think that means putting it in the shed.
Also whilst I am moaning. He loves his new dressing gown that Santa brought him. He loves it so much that he hangs it beside the old one which is fit for rags.
I will join you in getting some flab off. Also trying to establish a cleaning routine. I am also too easily distracted.
I woke up today when Mr V went to work then went back to sleep! So I have had your share Mrs SD. Today all I am going to do is patchwork, telly and make some food for tonight.
Oh we have had a reply from the councillor about the fallen down wall. Promising.

Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:Well done TheCraftyForager 👏 Although making sure the kitchen is tidy before I go to bed is now a habit, I still get great pleasure when I enter the kitchen each day 😁 You have already reaped the benefits & you should be very proud of yourself 🙂 Btw what flavour was the cake & is there any left 😉😉
The cake was lemon, raspberry and blueberry - surely it counts as one of my five a day?! 😉 There are 2 pieces left - it took a lot of willpower but I've popped them in the freezer for another day!2022 Decluttering Campaign 39/104 🏅⭐️

Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year ,filled with many decluttered cupboards!
hope I’m allowed onboard? Maybe running the tea trolley through.
I decluttered on the Marie Kondo thread a few years back and have kept to a quite minimal and clutter free home since then. I find reading these threads on mse is useful to motivate me to get up and look for something to throw away or reorganize. As Vulpix says decluttering is addictive.
I had to laugh at not using the air freshener /saving it for best as I have been guilty of similar in the past with expensive perfume or toiletries. Now my mantra is to use my best for everyday .I have been given toiletries for Xmas and now they are in a box in the cupboard and will be used when the current one runs out. I never have multiples on the go, wether it be shower gel, moisturizer or shampoo. That way the bathroom isn’t filled with half empty bottles and jars.
Like with Like is possibly one of the best ways to organize , particularly as you then know where to look for something and when you have too many !
Best of luck to you all .🤩Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.19 -

@SeekingFlight we moved summer of 2020, my thoughts when decluttering with packing were - Have I used this in the past year? If not why not? If there was a good reason for keeping it I did so.
I then went through everything again when we moved and were unpacking. Like some have said, it was more difficult at first so my reasons for keeping stuff were flimsier initially sometimes, so going through it a second time helped.
Also, will there be space for the items when you move? If it doesn't already have a proper home will you be able to find it one?
Also, don't feel as though you must chuck everything that you *don't have an immediate practical use for. Sentimental items have a use as well, you are looking to release items that you don't want or need.
Hope that helps!
For me, I have managed to source a lovely cabinet to stock Mr Puppy's games in some that they aren't just piled on top of the coffee table 🙄 moving the clutter to a set home. Storage definitely makes a huge difference in ensuring that things look tidy and not cluttered.17 -
Hello all, lots of lovely like minded people on the EDT. We should be able to keep each other going this year ! Yesterday I decluttered the DGC and they in turn had decluttered lots and lots of food, ever open mouths those two 😂 I have put away my fold up bed and stowed away the extra pillows, duvet and bedding till the DGC stay over again. I am waiting for DH to help me put the day bed back to it's normal position as he made it so solidly that it's too heavy for me to tackle on my own. I have washed all the clothes/bedding from the washing basket again, I'm sure it's the magic porridge pot in disguise 😎 it always seems to be refilled overnight. I have put my large table back to it's daily size and started to put my only "on special occasions" extra cutlery and dishes back upstairs into the bottom of a wardrobe ( normally there's only 2 of us and have a smallish kitchen ) I can foresee a sort throw out in the very near future 🤗 I have started a new cs bag so I shall swoop and scoop as I go. I have put in some items from the xmas crackers, I had to buy the posh ones this year and they contained proper items, bottle opener, tweezers, nail clippers etc all of which I have already. However the DGC were upset there wasn't a red fish but at least they couldn't argue over it 😂 I've sorted all my xmas smellies and recycled the boxes except the Laura Ashley box. I will use that as a memory box to replace my two smaller ones. The tissue paper from that box has been rolled up and reused as scented drawer paper, it smells heavenly. Sadly I've decluttered an old school friend, we lost touch when he moved to Kent and a mutual friend has informed me that he's now passed away 😢
Out today either binned or recycled :-
Wine bottle, non alcoholic (saw the New Year in with the DGC 10&12 and I'm not plying them with booze just yet ✋)
Empty biro
Notebook which contained almost 2 years of online shopping lists.
Plastic coat hanger, snapped
Discarded the last of the party food, well the little that was left from yesterday and lunch again today.
2 blown light bulbs from the dining room, thought it had gone dark in there 😂 Only had 2 odd ones to take their place till I go shopping though.
Removed all watched recorded TV programmes.
A large plastic sweet tin, from year ? and kept for Justin, I am annoyed at myself there. I have a new one from this year and I will discard it when it's empty.
Mothernerd I hope your DM is ok, she's in the right place to get help. Here's a hug for you 🤗
MrsSD thank you for keeping a record of awards for last year. I was surprised at how many I had 😲 If I could I would award you a Damehood. I love the thought of a TLC carriage but don't make it too comfortable for me or I'll never leave. No nice hunky male masseurs for instance 🤭 I'll leave you now with that last thought in your head 😉
Take care all
