Please sign me up.
I have been decluttering for approx 2 yrs, slowly with occasional bursts of productivity.
I am feeling the benefits of having less stuff to manage and now beginning to manage in impulse to keep things just to have them.
I need to maintain my progress so far and get more stuff out of the house.🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300

It took me most of the day to sort the Christmas stuff - I managed to get it back in loft but need to get back up there and tidy it up a bit. Just wanted it out of main house. I was ruthless over decluttering things I never use and no-one would want - I also got rid of several lengths of mangy tinsel.
4 Christmas stuff sorted, some to bin - the rest to loft. One box less than I had before.
5 Gift bags sorted through and some kept but others to bin
6 Children's cutlery sets to CS bag. Youngest GC almost 7 now - I just kept a set that were my late DH's as a child for the occasional toddler visiting
7 Bag of random carp from various rooms to bin
8 Large bag of plastic and cardboard to recycling bin
9 Some more leftovers from fridge used up or thrown away
10 Purse to CS bag
I need to wander round the other rooms with black bag to collect carp but I ran out of steam.2025 Decluttering Campaign 590/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi
Please can I join in. My house is full to bursting with stuff my son and hubby collect and make guitars and I craft. We have so much stuff that needs sorting, organising and getting rid of. My house and garden are sooo messy. I have a dodgy back a job and a business so will have to do it in small chunks. I'm determined that 2022 is they year to sort it. I'm too embarrassed to have anyone over. Wish me luck, it's a massive job.
Hi I posted this on a thread the other day but can't find it oops!!
Anyhoo I've got two bags for the local chazza shops so far and dropped off 15 craft books at my local recycle yard today. Felt very liberating 😂
I am desperate to declutter our home so hubby can decorate. It's a huge task.17 -
Mrs SD, Thank you for your final post on the old thread. What an epic effort on your behalf. Please accept a gold medal in our New Years Honours.
BBC I had the same tiles at my previous house
Mothernerd ,Best wishes for your Mum.
I have had a fabulous Christmas and New Year. The Feasting is over . The only food waste is half a tub of elderly coleslaw. The decorations need to come down. I will take the opportunity when packing them up to have another pass of the boxes in the pantry of doom.
DS,DD1's BF and me went into the top garden today to dig the stream out a bit. A large section of the retaining wall has collapsed around the stream where the oak tree was. Picture taken and emailed to our local councillor. This problem is the biggest frog ever.
Those who know me won't believe this or probably will not be surprised but I am thinking that when the renovations are done on the cottage we can sell it. I was thinking of having it as a holiday let but we shall see. I always thought that I was attached to the old place but maybe not. It is just a little bit too small for us. Perhaps a new layout in the kitchen would help.

I cleared out a corner cupboard in the kitchen where I keep vases, plant pots, cook books and other bits and pieces. I have too many vases. Put them all in a line and chose only the ones I use often or love. So, about 5 are in a box ready for charity shop, together with a couple of cook books I never use (obviously not my trusty Delia or Mary Berry). Also a couple of little rabbit decorations I once used for Easter decorating (I can no longer be bothered to do this
). A couple of packs of plastic cups and some plastic cutlery I didn't know I had so clearly don't need also ousted. Have wiped down shelves in cupboard and put back what I'm keeping. A few bits left on side to sort through tomorrow.

Might start counting but only things that are out of the ordinary chucking of stuff away and recycling, to see if that motivates me more.

3. Dog coat for the animal sanctuary
4. Unwanted present for the charity bag,
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks.
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed.Saturday the 1st January has been a pleasant day - even saw some blue sky 🙂 A fairly successful day - managed 4 of my 5 tasks including a frog (sorted my glass jars & recycled 12 👏🙂), reduced my time playing AB2 & the kitchen is clean & tidy 🙂 Dinner was roast pork with crackling, roast potatoes & cabbage for DSis with additional roasted vegetables for DH & me (purple carrots, pak Choi, chicory & red peppers seasoned with onion salt & white pepper) plus mushrooms in cream. An odd mix but these were all the sad looking vegetables in the bottom of the fridge 😉 I didn’t fancy making soup 😉 Wudupa. Wrote Sunday’s To Do list (5 + 1 outstanding 😔)
1 - 16 Kitchen recycling, 12 glass jars, 3 cardboard boxes - recycled
17 Kitchen detritus - binnedBtw - the Awards List is on the 2021 Decluttering Thread 👏Wow, I am 6 pages behind so will keep fingers crossed that I have enough charge to cheerlead 🤞
nannywindow what a lovely description of our 2022 EDT ☺️ Bit of a drastic way to start your decluttering 😬 What a great lust of ‘Intentions’ I can confirm that no-one can fall off the train even if RL gets in the way - There is a rather special carriage that you can retire to 😁 where you can relax, get a massage and generally recharge your Life Batteries. There are no restrictions on time spent there BUT if you are there too long I will be having a quiet word 🙃 I think I will name it “The TLC Carriage”I hope we are catering for your specific type of tea shabbychic12? Hope you found the bin bags 😉Lovely to see you newlywed 👋 Perhaps pop in once every couple of weeks to let us know how you are doing 🙏 - remember I have my desire for information to feed with tales of success 😉😉
What a great post princesskitty29 👏🙂 Firstly, it sounds like you know yourself very well - targets are not for everyone & I really don’t think decluttering your whole house is vague 🙂 Secondly you are being awarded the first medal 🏅 of 2022 for your excellent cheerleading & empathetic comments 👏EnergyShifter what great news about your DS 🙂 Wow, you have got off to a flying start - a truly excellent number of items dealt with 🤩 So impressed with that number that you are being awarded the second medal 🏅 of 2022 👏Suffolksue what a wonderful confirmation that decluttering is a good thing 🙂 Remember The TLC Carriage is available if you want a bit of quiet time.Deni_debt-free_dreamer, I completely agree about the tidy kitchen - I think it sets me up for the day ahead & regardless of anything else I have done or not 😉 means that I have had a success 🙂Floss, that did make me smile 😃 - good footing indeed. Enjoy your walk 🙂
GrannyKate your target is duly noted 🙂 Great idea for the cleaning/decorating grid 👏 What a brilliant story - buying a dishwasher rather than electronic gadgets for the kids 🥳 Hope they noticed how much happier you were once they finished griping that is 😉 Good luck with the 1p Savings Challenge - hope the pot is big enough 😉 Reminds me I need to put my first month’s contribution in my pot 👏 Sadly I know I would forget to top it up daily hence the monthly contribution 😉 Currently in negotiations with the authorities re the overseas excursions 🤞
Happy_Kitties your targets are duly noted 🙂 Very encouraging that you are noticing a real difference having met 2021’s targets, stands you in good stead for 2022 👏 Great start btw & I love that you are so well organised 👏 Shame about the chocolates ☹️
vulpix, poor MrV having to work ☹️ Hope there are plenty of cheesy twists & lemon curd. You are not alone in feeling the clothing is a bit tight 😔 I think the buffet car has carrot sticks & apples although I much prefer salted peanuts 😉
charlies_tribe the only way I can reply to everyone is by having 2 tabs open 😉 Well done on your decluttering 👏 I think a group of us would have to form a club to match up to EnergyShifter’s numbers 😂 Don’t forget to count the bird’s nest once it is decluttered 🙂
Absolutely you can join us roundtuit, lovely to see you 👋 I think we are going to have lots of fun this year - makes decluttering so much easier 🙂 Congratulations on such a wonderful achievement - sitting at the table to eat 🥳 & having clear floor space in every room 👏 Do take some time to bask in the glow of a target reached ☺️ & yes I understand completely about wanting to cry - it makes perfect sense to me 🙂 Rather like the word ‘ ‘chubbage’ - sounds very cuddly 🙂 Btw, plenty of time to decide your priorities & you have made a good start 👏 Roundtuit, you never ever have to apologise for a long post 🙂
Baxtersmum fingers crossed that you get 15 sales 🤞
Welcome aboard AnimalTribe, lovely to meet you 👋 What a great start to your decluttering journey 👏 - electronic clutter seems to have a mind of its own - you turn your back for 5 minutes & it doubles 😱Great to see you accidentalglixch 👋 See you have already had a success - you have signed up on the first day of a challenge 👏🙂

Great work EcoIntent 👏 You do know you can count emptying, cleaning & restocking 😉 A job like that takes time & effort 🙂elsien, snap with spreadsheets ☹️ Although a handwritten bingo grid did work for a while 😉 until I bought a rather lovely notebook ‘Things To Do Today’ it was even cheap as I bought it in W*lko 👏 As we gradually get back to normal life 🤞 I think keeping your home clean and tidy is the way to go - then you can invite people straight in - on production of a -ve LFT 😂 Sorry about that I went off at a tangent 😔 Not sure I would be brave enough to set an online time log either although I should probably hide the TV remotes 🤣mothernerd an absolute delight to see you ☺️ You have so much to cope with but you do so with such grace and forbearance 🙂 Thank you for sharing your Mantras & explaining how they work - I think many of our fellow declutterers will find them very useful. I am so very sorry to hear that your mum is so ill ☹️ However you are again dealing with the situation with grace - you are absolutely amazing. I am sending your mum get well wishes & hoping that when she is well enough to return home she will have some sort of care package available rather than everything falling to you 🤞 I have lots of hugs available if you are a hugger 😉
Welcome aboard the 2022 EDT, Pennypincin 👋 Lovely to see another new face 🙂 Excellent work & well done on not only decluttering but also on consciously trying to keep clutter out 👏 Keep up the good work 🙂Well done TheCraftyForager 👏 Although making sure the kitchen is tidy before I go to bed is now a habit, I still get great pleasure when I enter the kitchen each day 😁 You have already reaped the benefits & you should be very proud of yourself 🙂 Btw what flavour was the cake & is there any left 😉😉
Oh dear, have just noticed the time 😬 I am off to bed only 4 pages behind 😔MrsSD
