My sister and I a rummage through the shed today to reunite DBro with his ‘treasures belongings’ (We have our own views about these and would declutter most of them but hey ho)
Whilst in the shed found a replacement crate with lid for gathering the recycling to take to the recycling bin. Decluttered the previous crate’s lid to the refuse bin. The existing crate is still sound so will repurpose that for veggie growing this spring and summer.
We also had a rootle through the cupboard over the stairs. Simultaneously disheartened and cheered to discover that there was very little to declutter as it contained suitcases and household stuff that belonged there. Somehow the hauling out and rearranging created some more space…obviously those years playing Tetris as a teenager have paid off! Did find a couple of things that can go to charity though (Christmas jumper and T-shirt)

Items Decluttered today (I’m only going to remove them from my total once they have LEFT the house)
Metal clothes maid that no longer stands up after many repairs, it had a good life!
Finally recycled the empty bottle of air freshener I had in the bathroom that smelled so lovely that I wouldn’t use it so it wouldn’t run out 😳 like saving air freshener for best 😂 That being said it’s lived with me in 4 different houses over 5 years.
So I’m at 2020/2022 🎉

Hi, Happy New Year, all! Starting with easy stuff, the harder stuff will be tackled in small doses. 1: Christmas decorations tidied away. 2-8: 6 GB data and 50 emails deleted 9: phone storage and images tidied 10-27: rubbish and recycling to appropriate bins (paper/card and mixed materials) 28-29: 2 more socks to the textile recycling bag.
Clothes for work tomorrow are all set out and I'm having a go at the clean laundry. Also got my first No Spend Day.

Good evening, just a quick one. Spent the day packing away the Christmas things, need some more boxes, we haven't bought anything new buy I can't fit everything back in. Living room had a good clear through.
Went in shower and put all bottles off the bath on to the shelves and the girls have left a few empty bottles on there so they've gone out to recycle bin.
My sister has been and fetched the bunk we took down the other day as its been sat in our living room ready for her little ones.
I've just been to fetch the tweezers from the pet cupboard so I can pluck the dogs ears (he's a toy poodle, they have to be plucked) and couldn't find them anywhere. Something had exploded so I've emptied the whole cupboard throwing anything out of date or ruined and a lead he had chewed through! No idea why that was kept. I still have no tweezers! He's scratching his ears like mad so going to have to order another set.
Kids have just appeared so better go sort them out.
26-28 empty shampoo/conditioner bottles-recycled 29 bunk bed- gifted to sisters smalls 30-41 pets things- binned as something had expoloded

Happy New Year, hello Mrs SD. I hope there is space left for me on the train? I came very late to the party last year maybe October or November and I did some decluttering but mostly I did a lot of thinking and it was good for me to dip my toe in. My decluttering it's quite specific this year and I suspect may carry on for several years to come. It is all about my mental health and being efficient. I need to improve efficiency in all areas mostly because I think this year will be a tough one financially for most of us. I haven't got the time or energy to be tidying and cleaning and falling over things. My goals are as follows. 1. Declutter physically according to rooms 2 hours a week at the weekends.
2. Declutter my clothes everything that doesn’t make me feel good about myself ( which is mostly everything) and replace it with an item I love.
3. Declutter 3 stone of fat from around my tummy. I have joined a gym today.
4. Emotionally declutter my deceased partner’s belongings and every piece of art my daughter has made since she was 4 yrs old.
5. Declutter a few acquaintances.
6. To stick to a cleaning rota.
First declutter HALL shoes stored in old dressing table draws.

Am safely aboard, although I had to run to get on before the doors closed-what a close shave.
Not done a great deal yet but made a tiny start today with the following:
1. Paperwork shredded & shredder emptied into brown garden waste bin 2-10. Old iPad, iPod, sports watch and hrm sold on CEX website, bundled up with related leads and plug - will drop off in shop tomorrow
Anyway, I have ordered the Swedish Death Cleaning book from the library, so thank you Vascodakarma!
I have been so motivated by this thread that I have managed to get rid of 159 items today. I am so pleased because we really have so much clutter and are normally very bad at doing anything about it, so thank you everyone 🙂🙂🙂
@Blackberrycurved and others agree about the emotional and some body clutter along with the physical declutter. Sometimes I think if I only kept the things I love would be little left, and things that are useful means little would go (if I add in may be useful if x or y happens). Also @Blackberrycurved... fabulous hall tiles.
18 Lipstick 19 unsubscribed and some emails deleted 20 glass bowl broken 21- 23 major phase of frog and couple of emails which have been hanging around 24 organising some christmas things, and finding the left over small plastic bags from test kits useful to put small items in, b'day candles etc 25 hung up xmas cards (excuse I was away and going to keep them til 12th night) 26 repurposing small divider - I think for sauce and other pouches, to put my purse, phone etc by my desk as never properly used.
The train seems to be gathering pace and passengers, and looking forward to getting to know fellow passengers and all your stories x
