Hi Mrs SD,
Thanks for running this thread again.I think this is my seventh or eighth year of joining you on the decluttering journey.Focus for the year:
a) to keep the everyday clutter moving - reuse what I can - to save pennies, but all that cannot be reused/up cycled to be recycled immediately.
b) to reduce the amount of toiletries/beauty products - to not buy any new until I start the last of each product. If I have done my calculations correct, I should only need a night cream between now and next November. I will post what I have once I finished recording it all.c) to clear the loft - carried over from this year.
d) to declutter the garden - all unwanted plants and pots.e) to reduce number of books - the number of books have reduced greatly over the last few year, I only have a fraction of what I used to have - but still have lots from my aunt to read. This year I read over 40 books. So, to reduce the number of books. Target: I will limit the number that I buy new to 6. I will read 12 of my own books, borrow no more than 12 books from the library. Read 12+ books from my aunt and then either return or pass on.f) to declutter 222 additional items from the house
g) to only make mindful purchases - minimise the amount of items coming into the house.

Have been lurking recently but keen to actively join in. My intentions for 2022 relate to self-care and decluttering is a big part of that. The constant visual noise and mess are not doing my mental health any good so this is an area I need to focus on.
So tomorrow I will be scanning CDs with a view to sending off to Ziffit / MM and reclaiming some floor space in a spare bedroom which ultimately I would like to be a bit of space for "me" rather than random assorted "stuff".
I don't know what to set as a target but I'm aiming to check in with this thread at least twice a week and have some progress to report each time.9 -
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger please can I reserve a seat? I have several areas to tackle...

I've accidentally started my own thread instead of answering you 😂 I haven't been on here for years. Sooo I need to desperately declutter my home and garden they are so messy. I work have a business and dodgy back so will have to do it in small chunks. My hubby and son make and use guitars and I make and sell jewellery, our house is rammed with clutter. I want to clean it up, get hubster to redecorate and actually have people over again. Help !!9

Hi Mrs SD and fellow declutterers.
Count me in again - hoping to:-- target 2022 including frogs
- and getting number of rooms decorated, and carpet that we don't trip over (put off for years for various reasons)
- starting to sort out my dad's house while he is in a care home near it so he can look through things
- making my home easier to live in and setting example to DDs (and ready to downsize and /or do more fun things in my life)
- would love to do photos and electronic clutter - but this could be 2023
- decluttering some bad habits and acquiring new ones
Looking forward to the journey!9 -
Hi
Please may I join ? My house is so full of "stuff" I try to be good with lots of trips to charity shops but then I buy more ! I hate throwing things away in case they may be useful to someone else. Although in fairness they often are as my empty gin bottles were used by someone to make lights, my raw dog food tubs were used by someone who makes raw dog food and my empty tapas dishes went to the local hedgehog rescue.

I'll be over on 1st January: by that point, I'll have more of an idea how to tackle things, some sort of priority and more space to work in.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
