Thank you everyone for your kind words, @vulpix@marrob, @ Energyshifter, @oceanspirit, @nannywindow and others, really appreciated. Yesterday went well, with a celebration of my dad's life, managed to read a poem, one cousin I hadn't seen for 20 years, (his dad died when he was 18 months so I am so lucky). The day before was my birthday and had my girls, brother (his wife has covid) and my girls for a meal, and went through some photos - nearly a century! Been kind to myself and letting DD2 do her own thing so will need to tidy up at the weekend.
Have been reading through the thread, and as always impressed by what people are up to, and hugs to everyone, Mrs SD, hope SIL's funeral is a celebration of her life, I know you have a separate gathering. Does all focus my mind and I don't want the story to be I was forever trying to tidy up my chaos or trying to find things
Boy cat woke me at 2:15 this morning by attacking my foot, had trouble getting back to sleep so worked on book outline for awhile. Got back to sleep for one hour, then time to get up to let out dog, feed dogs and cats, cleaned up kitchen. Cleared many items out of my Google Drive account, including 10 folders. Went to Family History Center to help friend with English genealogy. Added several generations and cleared up problems. It is exciting when we can prove the right connections. She got a marriage certificate in the mail that I had encouraged her to send for proving her great-aunt's marriage was different than what she had thought. (My motto in family history - always get the original documents when they still exist!) Car had gas added today - oh my - went up 10 cents between this morning and this afternoon. Over $5 an American gallon. Only had $40 and it didn't even fill the tank. Tomorrow I am meeting with my two sisters and taking the Christmas and birthday presents down to my nephew's house - yes, last Christmas's presents as he still hadn't gotten to his mother's to pick them up. They are mostly for my grandniece and grandnephew. Then we are meeting with a cousin for lunch. My sister whose grandchildren the presents are for will be driving. May have to help her pay for the gas though. Tonight I am still worried about our new husky as the roommate who brought her home isn't spending nearly enough time with her. She is lonely most of the day - not good.
Deleted over 1000 messages (texts and whatsapp) on my phone. Quick sweep round messy cupboard drawers to find tat for bin. Not much but it made me feel better
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
Hi everyone, I’m sending love and warm hugs to all those who have lost someone.
I’ve not done much, feeling a little bit down due to tiredness and lacking in motivation. I did manage to sell some things on eDay last week and am going to attempt going through my summer wardrobe this weekend to see which of the impulse buys from last year can go.
7 eDay sales posted
My little pot from eDay sales is now at nearly £400, i have spent some of that on a chair to replace the broken one and gave Son2 £100 to treat himself and his girlfriend on a London trip for her birthday.
I’ve been updating my scores as I go but not posting much. So i hope everyone is well and i love reading along x

Sending love to everyone with losses, family events and traumas this week - I hope everything passes in the best way it can.
Massive and unwanted declutter for me. My fridge freezer decided that the compressor didn't need any of its oil and dumped it out over my kitchen floor and subsequently stopped working. I've salvaged as much as I can, but there is probably £25 of food and £360 worth of fridge freezer that will be leaving my house by Monday, all of which needs to be replaced.
On the plus side, I will have to tidy up to get the delivery guys through to the kitchen, so I might find a few more bits to get rid of as I go...
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps.... LB moment - March 2006. DFD - 1 June 2012!!! DEBT FREE!
🤦♀️Bargain Betty. Sorry to hear about your fridge woe. What an absolute pain.
I am en route to the tip. A bag of rubble from me n a mattress from our next door neighbour who doesn’t drive.
Odd job man finished for now. No sign of roofer or plumber.
I spent a happy time in the back garden yesterday tidying all the pots. Only a couple of deaths over winter of plants and pots! Most of the pots contain plants from my old garden awaiting to go into the ground, and that depends on getting on and creating a garden. It’s all like a puzzle, I can’t do that until the builder has done the ground work. He can’t do that until the scaffolding is gone etc, etc.
How have I only just found out about this. There's a skip on my drive full of stuff we've decluttered. It's only half full, challenge accepted.

Had a really early night last night and woke up feeling like my cold had gone. Bizarrely it came back with a vengeance this afternoon but at least it meant I had a productive morning. Back in the TLC carriage.

Well Thursday turned out to be a wonderful day all round. It was a gloriously sunny & quite warm day. DH & I left home at 11:40 & arrived at DH’s sister’s home about 1 p.m. We got changed, had coffee & sandwiches. Lots of chat, reminiscing & plenty of laughter & joined by DH’s niece. Left about 2:30 p.m. - gentlemen in one car, ladies in the other. Arrived at the crematorium about 3:15 p.m. - we were almost the last to arrive. Everyone either brightly dressed or wearing bright accessories - a rather lovely sight in the sunshine. The ceremony was conducted by an independent celebrant & was a true celebration of life. A well balanced service with a beautiful eulogy from Sister-in-law’s granddaughter & the music/songs were Stand By Me & It Might As Well Rain Until September. There were tears but not many as everyone knew that the service was conducted in the exact way that SISiL had requested. Once the service was over, we all spent about 30 minutes talking to each other in the sunshine. Then off to a pub for drinks & catching up & reminiscing about a life well lived. One wonderful event - a family misunderstanding was sorted out - what a great testament. Ten of us went onto to ‘Spoons for a meal. As DH had more to drink than originally intended we spent the night at his niece’s. Currently living in a bomb site as she & her DH are having a new kitchen put in 😬 Today we got up at 8:00 a.m., tea & toast more reminiscing & then DH & I left about 10:40. Home just after midday. Have done nothing much as Friday has been a damp, dreary day. An aside - most expensive petrol price £179.9 & diesel £193.9 😱 😬
375 - 377 Two newspapers, magazine - recycled 378 - 379 Kitchen & living room detritus
oceanspirit, both DH & I agreed that it was a wonderful day notwithstanding that it was also a sad day for us.
florianatwobob, it did bring more comfort than sadness & several of us learnt new things.
