Hello all, decluttered 18 read emails, mostly from the W*rks, think they're missing my custom as I was always "visiting" for something or other 😊 I have also decluttered, with the help of DH, the roots of the front hedge on one side of the garden. Our builder is supposed to return towards the end of this week and he won't be able to finish the front wall without the roots gone. I also found several wrappers from chocolate bars, none of them mine I hasten to add and a plastic container top, not mine either. My meds arrived yesterday, yippee, now don't have to chase them up again however I have received a questionnaire about closing the sister surgery. I'm going to let them have both barrels, nicely of course, as it is impossible to get an appointment now let alone incorporating the extra patients from the other surgery. Sorry I'm having a rant again.
TC77 I hope everything goes ok on Wed. Lots of hugs winging your way.
Vulpix fingers crossed that the roofer arrives and yummy cake makes, I love meringue and cream 😋 Hope MIL can get back to her own house asap.
GrannyKate enjoy your Scotland trip.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care all

kscour - I love it “a long day mostly powered by coffee and determination” and wow you have been productive 👏 I am especially impressed by dealing with ‘festering’ frogs 😉 so you have earned your first medal 🏅- excellent work 👏
) I shall wear it with pride!
Yesterday was very tied up with work but I still managed to sort most of a big box of photos into either date order or with a description of what they are so I can try and work a date out from other dated photos. Hopefully I can finish the rest of the box this evening.
Hope everybody's had a good day9 -
Hi all, just found this thread after being a member of MSE for *mumble* years.
I am the sort of person who rushes into projects without thinking them through.
However the last few weeks I have done a mini declutter and took old glasses to the Lions (charity not zoo!)
Next job is a few charity shop trips with unwanted stuff.
Have decided to 1 trip a week, and also find an item to throw each week. Hopefully it will mean I end up with a tidier home.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)11 -
802-803: another 100 emails deleted or unsubscribed
804-812: items to bin or recycling including leaflets from the communal hallway and several pages of a notebook...

565. Day 6 of Lent pledge completed
566. Boiler serviced) for the last few days - I'm having to try hard to manage my emotions - particularly irritation! It's probably a build up of a variety of stuff but I'm pretty sure that at least some of it is from giving up alcohol for Lent - I'm not a big drinker but I'm a regular drinker - I look forward to my eve G&T to decompress! Anyhoo, if giving it up has that effect on me its probably no bad thing to take a break... And I really want to do this....
567. Day 7 of Lent pledge completed
568. Tesco Clubcard Reward voucher replaced
569. Changed flights - I'd randomly booked a date in April when I had to cancel my holiday due to eye surgery - it seemed a long way off then but its just round the corner - so I've kicked the can up the road until May/June now....
570. Returned item to tk maxx
571 - email deleting session
TC77 - Thank you for your kind wishes re: DS. I am thinking of you and sending love and the hope that today goes smoothly and you get to honour your Dad in a way that feels meaningful to you

A few bits done and I ventured into the loft to put a few things away. I have a collection of filing boxes (4 inch ones) containing papers I feel the need to keep a bit longer. Late MILs and DH mostly but all labelled and dated. I added my self employment records to a half full box. Some are only 3-4 years old so I need to keep them a bit. My loft is in 2 bits because of huge water tank in middle so I have two loft ladders. Late DH put some shelves at one end for the filing boxes which are neatly stored all together now. I also have boxes of boxes (ie my Swarovski boxes etc); a few pictures now reduced from 8 to 4; electronic stuff of DS2s (he has nowhere to put it); 4 remaining boxes of random items (eg wedding dress) to make decisions about (there must have been 20 boxes when I started); Christmas stuff, Easter stuff, suitcases. It sounds a lot but it barely covers any of the boarded space up there. A few items came down with me and decisive actions taken!.
342 Plastic recycling to local co-op
343/4 New National Trust and English Heritage Books arrived so old ones recycled
345 Zoom committee meeting done and papers recycled
346 Items returned to DS2
347 Self assessment records from last paid work sorted - some shredded others to appropriate box in loft
348 Small exercise book spotted in loft containing records of personal correspondence (ie thank you letters) following death of my father 40 years ago. Used pages recycled and blank ones in spare paper stash.
349 Some random anniversary cards from silver wedding - 27 years ago - also recycled
350 Loft filing boxes checked and sorted into logical order on shelf.
351/2/3 Pictures found in loft to CS bag. I've no wall space to put more up and I have no particular attachment to these ones.
I did buy a map for my trip next week and two new pairs of PJs yesterday. At least 2 sets of PJs are hanging together by threads so these will go out in next week.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
