@Liverpool_Anne, thanks for the support re Ex! He does drive me nuts sometimes. Today I hefted a couple of cardboard boxes of junk into the conservatory (posh word for lean to) to sort out, halfway through the first one I decided there was nothing I wanted to keep so I just put them both in the bin as they were and put the bin out for the lorry then went to work. It was odd when I came back to find the empty bin sitting there, junk gone, and I hadn't lifted a finger. I could have carefully gone through the old paperbacks and chipped plates but no one needs them and they won't bother me now. Maybe I should do this more often. Anyway, that's 19 items gone in 2022. I couldn't even be bothered to count the things in the boxes this time.
Good evening. While the girls were out I pull out the next 2 big boxes (I'd left them as knew what was in them) both full of doll stuff. A couple of bags from the pantry and sorted the boxes in to baby doll, barbie, sylvanian family etc. I'll label the bags until I've gone through everything and then whatever my sister doesn't want for her girls can go. A carrier bag of broken bits (barbies with no head or ones the dogs must have found at some point have been binned. The girls came back before I managed to put it all way and now it's spread across the floor while they 'look' at it all to see if there's anything they want to keep (I'm trying to stop it disappearing back upstairs)
I need to work on the kitchen and utility room before carrying on with the boxes as I've had a message for the boiler service and at the moment you can get to the washer door and that's it.

On day 2 of a 5 day course of antibiotics. woo hoo.

Car is back home and has been running for two days straight! Mechanic had to undo the relay for the air conditioning - whatever that involves. Our air conditioning in the car hasn't worked properly in years so it won't be too much of a problem (but it was 91F or 32+ C here today - in winter of all things). One of my roommates cleaned out most of the refrigerator over the last two days. We are making progress. Now if I can condense the cereals of the same kind into one box each, we might be able to use the kitchen more often. Have spent much of the last few days working on my Swedish genealogy (am 1/4 Swedish). Have three boxes of books ready to take to the bookstore and more to go to our book sale next week.
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks 2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays. 3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉 4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday has been mainly dry but has started getting colder again 🥶 Wrote a shopping list for DH’s weekly trip to MrS. DSis also popped out for a while. I continued my challenge of watching 5 minutes of each event at the Winter Olympics 😉 I think my favourite event so far has been the team luge 🙂 Dinner was sausages (from kitchen freezer), mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes 😋
Of course you can join us letthemeatcake 👋 Welcome aboard The EDT 🙂 Hopefully your partner is coming aboard with you, it will make the process easier 🙂 Are your partner’s possessions boxed or bagged? If they are bagged, would it be possible to get boxes? Somehow I always think that a stack of boxes is less intimidating than a heap of bags 😉 The two of you will then be able to go through a box at a time - finish it completely by putting things away, bagging up for CS or selling. Make sure to give yourselves a small reward for each box you deal with - it could be sitting down with a cuppa & having a chat or putting on some music & having a little 💃 🕺 but do something you enjoy. If time allows & the inclination is there, you can deal with another box. I have every faith you & your partner will succeed in your decluttering challenge 👏

Absolutely brilliant decluttering stellata 👏 I am so impressed that one medal 🏅 is on its way 🙂
So close charlies_tribe 😉 Hopefully you can stop your girls sneaking things upstairs 🙂 What about selling the stuff that your sister doesn’t want? You could start a little treat fund as a reward for your girls being so brave 😉 Great work on clearing so many emails 👏 Good luck with the kitchen & utility room 🍀
Thank you short_bird. Excellent decluttering 👏 Fingers crossed the antibiotics work 🤞
Nice to hear that the car is back & working weenancyinAmerica 🙂 I am getting quite excited for you as it seems that at least one of your roommates is finally helping out 👏🥳 It does make decluttering & tidying easier if you have company 🤞Well done on doing something you enjoy - a quarter Swedish eh - I am imagining blue/grey eyes & blond hair now 🙂 Fingers crossed that next weeks book sale is as successful as the last one 🤞
Currently enjoying the Women's Super G event 🙂

@charlies_tribe My dds are 10 and 13 now, and from when they were little, I have had their toys in sturdy boxes: barbie, dress-up, baby dolls, playmobil, kitchen, littlest pet shop, assembly (bricks etc), etc. Only 2 of these boxes are downstairs at any moment, the others are in the attic. About once a fortnight we would switch them. Colouring and crafting materials are always available.

Got off to a bad start this morning when I opened washing machine. Tired last night and quickly shoved plastic liner and mattress cover in washing machine to wash overnight. I had brought new stuff for bed GD4 uses including a nice all in one liner with waterproof backing - she is never wet now but accidents can happen. Bed all made up with new sheets and covers. Unfortunately ---- I had forgotten there was one of those lining pads on the bed that I didn't notice between two layers. Opened washing machine to wet fluffy mess of pad remains. The annoying thing is I have done this before (several times). Set machine on empty wash after wiping it out. Stuff shaken out in garden and now on line. Will need to sweep up patio as white bits all over it. Birds will probably take some for nesting.
Email from tax office to say I should check on line for next years code - when I went online (after hunting my password) I discovered they had finally done my tax calculation for 2019 and had concluded I didn't owe anything - I had paid tax at basic rate on some consultancy earnings but thought I had gone over the higher rate threshold and had set aside some money for it. Apparently nothing to pay and they do have the same totals as I do in my records - printed bits off and filed. I can sort through the self assessment stuff and put it in my very small box in loft of things I need to keep for a bit. Doesn't need to be in current filing cabinet though.
Working my way through box of porridge sachets. No dates on them but could be 2-3 years OOD - taste fine so having one for breakfast every day.

Doing school run this afternoon as DiL back to work this afternoon. Will try and do some more of my kitchen clean. About a third done.
Happy Friday everyone, nice and sunny here in Plymouth today 😀 hope it is wherever you are too!

Ive not felt in the right headspace to do anything much creative since the start of this year , which is really unusual for me, but finally I’m feeling like I want to do some hand stitching again! I think I needed to get this decluttering really underway to free me up 😀
