Ex has got covid now and is being a complete a*se about it, anyone would think he's the only person ever to get the virus. He thinks it's my fault he's caught it as I go to work and I did his shopping last week so must have brought it then. He couldn't have picked it up at the pub or fishing obviously. (I haven't got covid btw and I test 3x a week for work). Decluttering wise I've been trying to do like with like which is working well, even just to show me I don't need 11 pairs of scissors or 5 rolls of sellotape or 3 full refill pads or any of the other stuff I've got duplicates and triplicates of. Feeling a bit worn down by it all tbh but plodding on, it's the direction of travel which counts?Magnolia Stellata13

Hi all
@Mrs SD, so sorry to hear about your SiL. It is good to know her family were with her and the fact that it was so quick seems to indicate she was ready and at peace with her decision. It is always hard to lose someone who is so special to you but I believe that if we remember them and talk about them they are still with us in our hearts. I must admit that at times I still talk to some people I have lost, having one sided conversations with my Dad about problems in the garden always helps me sort it out, I can hear him saying " just do such and such and it will be sorted "virtual hugs for you and Mr SD
@Stellata, dare I suggest you just tell the ex to ask one of his mates from the pub to do his shopping next time he needs something, of course that is probably where he has caught it but if you are so infectious you should probably stay away from him for several years at least
after all you don't want to catch it from him!
Some success in the last couple of days, the learner car is back on the road ok and not as expensive as we feared. Yesterday I discovered my bedroom window wouldn't open, the handle seems to be stuck. I always open it when I go to bed, I have a small window I can open but its just not the same. Anyway I was a bit flummoxed as to what to do about it when fate stepped in today when I saw over the road was having new windows fitted so I went to speak to the fitters and asked if this was something that could be fixed. The answer is yes and there are people who specialise in repairing them. The fitter told me about a shop so a quick google and a phone call and a man will be here tomorrow
. Not sure if he will be able to fix it tomorrow but it feels like a major win just to get someone to the house after only 1 phone call
I have also made some progress on the banking frog
The bedroom and bathroom have been tidied and a few things in the bin / recycling, the bed has been changed and the washimg done. It always feels like a battle with the fitted sheets and duvet cover
Take care everyone13 -

Hello fellow declutterers,
Sorry I've be MIA for the last 3 weeks, had huge amount of work to do so not been making much progress on the decluttering, but I have been lurking and enjoying reading all your posts, well done on all that’s been achieved.Sent across my 38 work documents for review yesterday, now have some headspace and so here is my update of what I have managed to get done in between being glued to the office chair!
Items decluttered out of the house – 2 cardboard boxes, 2 bags drinks cartons / coffee cups, jar cooking oil, bag dead batteries and bag used light bulbs to recycling at the tip, 14 magazines recycled, 17 books to Oxfam bookshop, 72 items to charity shops (including 6 handbags and 6 pairs of shoes that suit fantasy me but not real me – when did I last wear high heels?!) and 1 ood food item eaten (hm redcurrant jelly, still tasty).
Tidying – 2 fabric storage cubes (I*ea ones) and 2 magazine boxes emptied, unsubscribed from 6 emailing lists
Frogs - Tidied up neatly into one small crate all my outside Christmas lights using bright yellow reusable zippy ties, had them previously stored in the plastic boxes they came in in a very large crate. OH has said to keep the plastic boxes justin they can be used to store stuff in the garage, I will give it until March and if they are still sat empty they will be decluttered!
15 other jobs of varying sizes decluttered from my list of things to do.
Haven’t been shopping or bought anything online for me, still no weight decluttered yet ….
Total was 614, add 131 = total 745 / 5000 (day 41, target is 605 so still ahead – excellent, thought I might have got behind!).
Read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, really interesting and thought provoking novel. Now reading She Speaks by Yvette Cooper. But need to get a move on and start my book group book as we are meeting on Saturday! Total 4/52.
Mending – got out the hot glue gun last night and mended 3 Christmas decorations that have been sat cluttering up the dining table since Christmas! – Total 19/52.
UU 1 scented candle jar, 1 bottle perfumed oil (must be at least 5 years old) and 1 tube handcream.Love and best wishes to all, especially those who are feeling poorly or down, hope you feel better soon, H x
