Milk (up a few pennies per pint) from the milkman is now £6.74 a week and the only food spend so far.
I have also ordered 2 boxes of the e-spares washing machine and dishwasher cleaning sachets as the dishwasher had the last one (guests did not rinse plates and fish bones caused a problem) another £12.97 so I have spent £19.71 so far this year.
I won't be shopping until next week but will need toilet paper (guests again) - who knew I would get through approximately 4 rolls in four days!? (seriously wondering if our drainage can cope... I mean, I know we were eating and drinking lots more than normal, and all that) - anyway, guests gone home and only 6 pots of leftovers left. I will need to freeze some bits but must label them. Freezer surprise not my favourite game!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

£5.99 Spent in £stretchers, a shop I rarely frequent, got a car freshener, some mini dehumidifiers, trying in the car, and some pan scrubbers, my friend went into B&M, a huge store, I was tempted to follow her in but as I was in our smaller store yesterday bravely resisted.Do I need it or just want it.6

Spent £26.02 on food so far, will not need to get anything food-wise until Saturday when I need to go shopping next, I'm hoping to use up most of what we already have and just pick up bits needed to make up meals and packed lunch stuff. Hoping to have a low spend month foodwise.7

£55.00 spent food shopping today so £345 left of January budget. The fridge looks fairly full and the freezer is still packed. Just me for lunch today but three people for dinner. I bought extra cat food and cat litter today. There's no way I want to be stuck indoors without that if the weather turns nasty.....
I'm making chicken fried rice for my dinner tonight, yum. The HT and my looked after person will be having pizza. The pair of them would have pizza most nights if I let them. Looked after person will also have a snack when we get in to bridge the gap between home time and dinner time.7 -

Been and done a big shop at Aldi as cupboards were empty. Spent £48.40 and then a further £5 in Sainsbobs. I got a box of 48 cat food pouches for £7.99 in Aldi so that will last 6 weeks as they share one pouch in the evening as a treat 🐈. So far I’m £73.88 out of food budget of £160 with the £40 bulk untouched.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)9

Collected a box of freebies from olio this morning including a ham and cheese toastie, mushrooms, sprouts, coriander, parsley, yoghurt, eggs and fruit. All will be put to very good use - I’m taking the fruit and toastie into work on nights tonight and will use the rest throughout the week.Went to L*dl to get a few bits and used the £20 gift voucher which was rapidly coming to its end date. Spent a total of £22.73 so only £2.73 out of pocket, not bad for a week’s shop!January grocery challenge £96.46/£1009

£9.42 spent in Mr S today, a little more than I was hoping to be spent but still not bad.
£43.89/£250.
£206.11 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy6 -
I’d love to join in but I really don’t know what ‘upper limit ‘ to put. Usually I budget about £70 per week for 4 adults mostly go over it.
Ive started tracking my spending and would like to see what I spend each month and then see where I can make savings…does this sound reasonable?
I spent £112.81 yesterday doing the first food shop after Christmas so not too bad. There were 3 non food/ household items in that total as well.
I’ll do a small top up tomorrow for a few fresh items and then on Friday to try and get back into my groove of weekly shopping.
Perhaps listing my spends on here will make me more accountable.
So £112.81/ £120 grocery cashGrocery spends £193.44/ £70 per week or £303 per month6 -
