Have tried googling but can't find the website, if you remember it please can you let me know, sounds very handy[Deleted User] said:I haven’t read the whole thread butIf you have the address and postcode you can check when they boiler was last serviced it cost about £6 -£10 including the certificate
I can’t remember the name of the site but if you search gas - electric check certificates you should be able to find it
I did this recently as I’m selling my parents house and I know they had it serviced but I couldn’t find the certificates for it

So your response to an inadequate service in the last is not to get it done at all?Noneforit999 said:
I have had ours 'serviced' a few times as part of a boiler cover package, Homecare etc.Chris_English said:I’m a bit alarmed at some posters here saying that they never get their boiler serviced. Part of the service is checking for CO emissions, and cleaning the jets to ensure that CO doesn’t become an issue.
Not getting this done seems crazy.
Not once did they clean any 'jets' or check for CO emissions.
They were more of a 'Take the cover off and look for any obvious leaks, ask if everything is working ok and pop head in the airing cupboard to check the tank'. In and out in < 10 minutes.
Each to their own but these days I don't bother.
That’s madness. Relying on CO monitors rather than also checking the clean burning of the system is a crazy route to take.0 -

Most 'boiler services' are not reported to GasSafe so won't appear there. Engineer leaves paperwork with his customer.

....and yet its probably working absolutely fine like the millions of other unserviced boilers all over the country.FataVerde said:
Yes, I got that useful information here and the boiler was installed 12 years ago and never been serviced or inspected since.[Deleted User] said:I haven’t read the whole thread butIf you have the address and postcode you can check when they boiler was last serviced it cost about £6 -£10 including the certificate

As a vendor, I wouldn't entertain dropping the price because the boiler had not been serviced or inspected.
If you want to arrange for it to be inspected, that's your problem as a buyer.1 -

Twice I've had to have parts replaced due to being broken whilst being serviced.I'm not the only one - last time we had a discussion on this, loads of people agreed.0 -

That was my understanding. So a record of boiler/gas fire etc installation should be found there, but pointless looking for service records.1 -
I am unable to find any way of checking on line if a property has had a landlords gas safety checkcanaldumidi said:Slithery said:There's a difference between a 'gas safety report', required on all tenanted properties, amd 'boiler service' which is not required on any propertoes, tenanted or otherwise. The gasSafe register shows 'gas safety reports'. Could you assist me if you have a moment with the exact URL
( To avoid confusion I can see how to check notifiable work to building control but that is not relevant to this enquiry)
Thanks0 -

ThanksYou may be right that GasSafe don't keep a register of safety inspection records. There's some information here:and here
