Morning all,
Thank you for the lists, Natty. Thank you too for last week’s, Valli.
I agree with everyone!!…
Narc0 - that is stunning. If I lived in your neck of the woods, I would be hassling you every year at least for a decoration.
Iona - take care, please. Follow the Round and Valli mantras, and keep your sanity and your health.
ASB - I think you are fab and am full of admiration for you and the life choices that you have made. You haven’t taken the easy way out, and it is time that people realised that. Your real friends will understand and support your choices xx
Day off work today, to take DD to hospital in the big city. I am dreading it, as it was this appointment a year ago that shattered her hopes and dreams.
DH is still in bed - most unlike him, hope he isn’t sickening for “something”.
I am nursing a cuppa, building enthusiasm for loading the wm. The majority of the presents I wrapped yesterday - mostly for DD, and mostly practical (think food parcels and toiletry parcels to save her money next year…), others are home knitted tokens for DSis etc. I sorted out the fridge, finalised the Mr M shop, s&s bathrooms, and vacuumed through, so the week is starting on a fairly even footing.
BadCat - are you ok? Maybe I have just missed your posts x
Have a good day all xx13 -
ASB, I have one reply for people who comment on how we live, "thank you for your opinion but this is our house and our life". We get (or used to get) lots of comments about why we left the UK and how bad everything is here, and how selfish we were not thinking about our kid(s). DD1 was 6 months old! I am now occasionally very smug and point out that those poor kids are now successful, independent young ladies who don't feel they have to be like everyone else.
Up early this morning as DD1 was with us but had to leave early to get to work.
Bed made, clothes picked up
WM on
DD bedroom tidied up
OH taken toy car for MOT equivalent
Last presents wrapped
DW sorted
I am feeling very calm about Christmas, we're going to the other house on Thursday evening late. Friday I will go to the supermarket and get what I can, not sure there will be turkey but chicken will be fine or anything really. And of course a good selection of cheeses, it would be rude not too. There will just be the 4 of us, so walks, books, puzzles and films or tv. Friends coming for NYE but just again just one other couple who we've known for 25 years and their daughter, they love any excuse to cook puddings so that's sorted and we live 5 minutes walk from an oyster cultivator. Plus the obligatory cheese!
Time for coffee and breakfast before I set too. Objective is a nice sorted tidy downstairs (living, dining & kitchen). It's reasonably ok so just needs attention to detail.
We can do this, best SMILES on14 -
Lovely to hear everyone's plans coming together even if they weren't the original plans.
Good morning everyone.
I have fed me and the dogs, changed bedding, first of three wash loads is in machine and dusted the bedroom of a fashion.
Plans today include two vet visits.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.14 -

I've updated the list in my earlier post...tick.tick.tick.
I've also sorted all Christmas presents into bags- from gift bag stash 🙂 - ready to be delivered.
I've decided that DS and GF can have turkey and chips with beans followed by either cheesecake or apple pie and custard for lunch on Boxing Day. I'm not stressing myself to cook a lunch with bells on. Thank you asb - I'm listening to my own advice.
Pots are soaking so I'll WUDUPA next.

(says she whose entire morning’s contribution has been to make 2 cuppas and read the weekend supplement). Turns out DH has toothache. Again. Of course, he didn’t listen when I said last week to book the dentist as it will be hard to get an appointment this week, then who know…😡14 -
Morning all
Thanks for thinking of me Fayolle x I’ve been following along but not posting as I’m struggling a bit, I’m just about ready for Christmas, just the food shop to do, it will be just us and the cats so will pop a few treats in as well. I think we deserve it this year…
today and tomorrow are days off the paid stuff, have run some errands and done dailies and laundry. I’m going to sit with my book this afternoon I think, feel like I haven’t stopped in weeks although I know I have it easier than some….
Hugs to all x12 -
Morning ladies (only just though!)
Thanks for the PM Piggers, it’s on my list xxx
Narco - that is BEAUTIFUL xx
Thank you all for just being so wonderfully supportive and kind. You really are a wonderful group of friends and I am so happy to have this little corner of the world where I can be amongst people who understand.
Fayolle - I will be thinking of you and DD today lovely xx
Despite getting up at a reasonable hour I haven’t done much. Chickens fed, kitchen tidied after a fashion, bed made and cuppas drunk. I have done a small wash load which is now draped in front of the fire - I was given a load of wood offcuts yesterday which will do very nicely. They are pallet wood so burn very quickly but I have a huge pile and they cost nothing so I don’t mind reloading the stove every half hour or so! The kettle is on there and I will heat my dinner on there too.
The children return tomorrow and whilst I’ve loved the rare peace and quiet I can’t wait to see them xx

Narco as others have said your porch display is gorgeous ❤️Asb you are a wonderful mum and person, it really doesn't matter what other people say. And so what if you do want to cook unconventionally etc I perfectly agree with you about using the fire as it's already hot. When I lived with my foster parents a lot of our food was done on the huge fire thing in the dining room. We even baked bread inside the oven thingy on the side..best bread ever I can tell you. And there was always a coffee pot on the top being kept hot. It was heaven I can tell you 💗💗Fayolle here's hoping your DD get good results at the hospital this time. 🤞Iona hugs honey, take care x
I do have a list to do but for some reason I can't get motivated...lol Maybe after a cuppa.
Oh just realised why, it's DMil's funeral today. 🙁 It's one of these direct cremations as it would have it been 4 of us at the funeral if we had a proper one. Sad I know but DH wanted to do it this way. Just waiting now for the phonecall from them to say it's all happened. Then we should get her ashes in the New Year. So that explains my mood..Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
