Declaring £1952.53 for June. We've actually had quite an expensive month - booking holidays for later in the year, trips out with family, big petrol bills for visits around the country, meals out, booking a place at a Mindfulness retreat - but mostly on the credit card which hits next month. So July's figure will be nothing like June's!

In other news, after a lot of faffing about with different early retirement dates I've finally taken the plunge and fixed the date as 2nd November. Mainly because we fly out to the Canaries on holiday on 3rd Nov and frankly after some bad days at work recently I just can't stomach the idea of going back after the hol. We're extending it right up to xmas, so a really good long break in the sunshine to de-compress and make some plans.

And finally, a quick word to say much love and best wishes to our leader SlowlyFading who is having a rough time at the moment.

  • #4 reporting £2040.44 for June. I had some pet expenses (vets and my quarterly pet food purchase) but otherwise a good month. My freelance job has been cut so extra savings will be reduced and I’ll take a bit of time off before looking for something to replace it with as I’m tired of doing it on top of my full time job for a bit. Will recharge then try something else. My net worth hasn’t grown so much due to market fluctuations but that just means what I’m buying now is better value for the future at least.

£300 placed into regular savers but lots of money withdrawn to play for the kitchen units, sink and hob. So declaring £0 for this month.
It will also be a £0 for June - summer clothes, extractor fan and two ovens.
For June - I had a £25 premium bond win plus £175.00 birthday money saved plus £200 regular saver which totals £400. But as said last month - lots of money withdrawn for kitchen so declaring £0 for June.

    £1542.40 for June for me.

As is tradition for this year, this includes some house purchase costs that have come from previously saved pots.

Congratulations on setting your retirement date @geoffers4 , and I'm sorry to hear that @slowlyfading is doing well - I hope things improve soon.

@geoffers4 Congratulations on setting your retirement date.  I retired in December 2017 and I have to say it is quite nice not to have to go to work in the winter.

    Reporting -£689 for March.

Figure is negative this month because I had a lovely week's skiing earlier in March, and paid for another mini trip for April, so its nice to know its going to things that make me happy! (holidays)

Few (some big) milestones achieved through March:

    • Student loan is finally paid off, I was a lucky one in a Type 1 plan. My partner has Type 2 and I know how crazy the sums are!
    • Stoozed credit card is paid off in full, as planned which was good!
    • Improved the interest rate on emergency fund from 0.84% to 1.5%, every little helps!
Off to submit my form now!

    #21 reporting £1,542 for April

    • S&S ISA is taking a bit of a battering with market movements, will look to capitalise on that by adding some cash to that pot this month (May).
    • Made a £2,000 contribution to my S&S LISA, which bought a lot more shares in MNKS than it did last time round (as share price has fallen!)
    • Have started more closely track my overall retirement assets (DC Pension + SIPP + S&S LISA), however as retirement is still a long way off I'm not going to yet start adding in projections to what my pot might be worth in the future. I have done rough calculations but since its so far away I don't feel that more detailed calculations will give me anymore info than what I have now. Not looking forward to expanding these calculations in the future as I near retirement(!)
    • Started to make plans for our new kitchen, so that will be a new challenge in terms of budgeting for it! Have never done any house renovations before, so mixture of excitement and nervous.
Off to update the form now. Great job everyone, so inspiring to read everyone's updates!
