becky_rtw said:I've realised I've been failing to track my additional Student Loan repayments in the way of savings...one of the reasons I've been saving less than planned is because of the 12% interest in September so I'm accelerating plans to pay it off so I dont get hit by that too much/at all.
Probably should at least be tracking the interest I'm saving by doing this but too late now. Need to remind myself of this when I'm behind target in December
Still not great, but not so crazy! I never intend to pay mine off, so I'm not worried about it... hoping to go back to do a PhD so I'll keep stacking it up no doubt haha£12k in 25 #14 £10,474.10/£18k 24 #14 £15,653.11/£18k 23 #14 £17,195.80/£18k 22 #20 £23,024.86/£23k4 -
Thanks I hadnt realised that. Although still a lot more than before and I am going to pay it off so at least I am saving interest this way (I worked out I'm saving about £1700 in interest with my overpayments!), compounding on these loans is awful4

#5 reporting in for May. I managed to save £1,523 for this month (form updated) which means I am still on target for the year (41%). I also managed to add £450 to the repairs & replacements pot this time, but I expect some of it to be used up in the coming months by various planned works plus I have the car service, MOT and insurance.

£1,700 for June which takes me to £10,750 for the year, includes a cheeky £25 pb win.
Still behind but not a surprise really. Lots of house expenses at the moment. 4 more months of Student Loan, including overpayments, by my calculations as well and then that is paid off too.
Off to update the form6 -
Appalling month for saving. We have finally paid the balance of a holiday to Canada we are now hopefully going on in September which has been delayed since 2020 due to Covid and DHs open heart surgery. Also booked a mini break in a fancy hotel next weekend to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary so all our spare money is going towards that. Our S and S ISAs are not looking great either although only 3.4% down since invested but all the gains from last year have now disappeared. A bit all doom and gloom really.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
