holderness said:I recently asked a block manager why a caretaker to an apartment block required a CRB check when they then handed out a keyfob to a parking operative without any checks or without a written contract. Her jaw dropped when I explained that said operater had criminal convictions including racially aggravated assault and threats to rape. I then pointed out that if anything happened the person who handed out the key could be sued for negligence
Would they take on a caretaker if he had convictions for racially aggravated offences (bearing in my their could be different ethnicities living in the building ), assault or threatened to rape a woman? I doubt it so why is the parking guy getting a pass?!? Does he even need to be there if the parking is gated off with secure fobs!? Who is benefitting by him stalking this carpark? Surely him being there surely means he is going to take up valuable bay space with his car depriving a paying resident or legitimate guest of a space!?!7 -
What this needs is something adding to the sticky listing names of people involved in the PPC industry who have known published criminal convictions - a rogues gallery so to speak. As this should and must be used in the landowner complaint process whenever it comes upAnd anyone who has access to RK data should have a DBS/CRB regularly updated - any one in the PPC chain who fails this would mean the company loses accessFrom the Plain Language Commission:

I know of many motorists up here in Scotland who completely ignore every letter regarding these fines and eventually sometimes as long as 2 years later they stop and you don't here anymore about it. How can they even prove they were delivered to your address as they arent sent by registered post. Ignore Ignore Ignore and do not ever correspond is the norm for dealing with it by many.1

You will not be able to ignore private parking charges any more, but the good thing is, there will be a more robust Code of Practice and a Single Appeals Service.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks to your dear leader, Scottish motorists are due a rude awakening next year when the legislation supporting the Transport Bill (Scotland) comes into force. Scottish motorists will suddenly find that a woman who claims she wants independence from the rest of the UK has imported a law from England and Wales that allows a person who was not in a vehicle at the time of a parking event to be held liable for a charge, and find themselves in court.I married my cousin. Certainly plenty advise and information on here and a lot of reading, but as I asked in my previous post how can they even prove they were delivered to your address as they were not sent by registered post.0
