One of my best MSE jeans finds is New Look Hula jeans. Over the last four years I have tried Next, Zara, H&M, French Connection, Primark for jeans. I have to say that the most flattering jeans that I recently discovered are New Look Hula jeans especially in indigo blue. I have a curvy butt and thighs and they make your legs look longer and thighs slimmer so they are perfect for pear shapes. They are so flattering that all my other jeans in comparison don't do anything for me. The best bit is the price, they are only ten pounds!

Thanks, I am going to check these out and hopefully get a pair as the last pair of jeans I bought make me look like a box, the other pair are too tight and short and the only pair I like are my dearer GAP ones. These sound great :D

That reminds me of another recommendation,if you like Gap jeans you might want to try Tesco ones too. My sister almost bought some in Gap with the discount voucher that was on here a while ago but she held back and last week she found some lovely ones in Tesco which she says are just as nice as the Gap ones and only 6 pounds!

This thread is great, they need to make it into a forum, I am sure that we can all share endless ideas with each other. Oh yes, I copied Sharon's great idea about posting outfits everyday. For me it is a great way of getting organised and keeping a clothes diary. So today I am wearing dark blue indigo jeans (Hula New Look), dark grey cotton top with cutout detailing on top half of back (Bershka), long grey cardi (Zara) and silver gladiator sandals.

  • Love the sound of those hula jeans, i have a retail park 5 miniutes away may pop in later and take a look, thanks eyeonspain!!!:j

Bloomin cold here today, today i have done the school run, popped into city centre to primark to buy daughter some more white sox, dunno what she does with them. Done some laundry, walked dogs. Just gonna catch up on some trashy tele whilst i have me dinner. Later will do the school pick-up, tea, reading books etc. Gonna go and see my mum later after tea whilst hubs puts younger two to bed.

Today i have worn, dark rinse jeans (m&s) cerise vest(primark), grey pinstripe blazer(matalan, new, first wearing today, i love it;)) Grey heels(not 2 high, clarks). I wore a puprple belt(next) and purple and pink braclet. Silver earrings and my grey handbag. Just gonna slip on my pink cardi as it is a bit chiily.

Eyeonspain, do you live in spain all year round?? or do you come back to the uk for some months?? Just being nosy as to what (if any) winter clothes you would have.

Well off to have me lunch, Bye for now

  • Just to add that this thread has really got me thinking about my daughters clothes aswell, I'm not even half joking in that she has around 30 outfits, with winter clothes put away atm. She is six and is exactly like me and loves clothes/jewellry etc. She's in uniform 5 days a week, so has no need for that amount of clothes, she has about 15 pairs of shoes and only really wears school shoes, snadals and trainers on the weekend. My boys live in football gear, and is far too expensive to have more than 3 footy strips at once. I may be doing some work on little miss's clothes in the near future.

I love the new look hula jeans too, they come up just that little bit higher so no builders bum or belly over hang, my bum and thighs look slim in them, when ever i wear them i get good comments. They are a thin material that dries over night, but feel strong enough to hold you in. Certainly worth a try for £10.

No good for me at the mo as being pregnant they come up a bit too high and dig in, but i'll be needing them to hold me in after the birth.....maybe i should buy a pair now incase they stop doing them.

Today i'm wearing next boyfriend jeans, khaki birkenstocks, next white ribbed vest, with a dark grey, short sleeve cross over top, sweatshirt material. Huge brown across body bag, that i can hide belly with.

Who adds scarves, necklaces, bangles, belts to their outfits? i don't as i have a few nice expensive pieces of jewellery that i never take off and the only time i wear a belt is if its needed to keep my trousers up, wonder if i should start experimenting as this could change my outfits, feel guilty taking the nice stuff off though.

Yes I am here all year round but I wear winter clothes for a good half of the year. As I have acclimatised I do get very cold in the winter and indoors gets freezing with marble floors etc.I have lived here for five years and this winter has been very windy with lots of rain, today is actually quite chilly, hence the jeans.I go back to the UK about three times a year for a week at a time. The winter wardrobe has recently undergone an overhaul and I got rid of loads (gave most to mum and sister) but here it is more or less:

dark blue skinnies (New Look Disco and Dorothy Perkins)
dark blue bootcuts (Hula New Look)
black skinny trousers for wearing in riding boots
    white fitted shirt(Benetton)
black, purple and brown polonecks (need new ones and brown just doesn't suit me)(Marks and Spencer and Primark)
    grey short sleeved cardi (Mango)
3 long sleeved tops in black, white and raspberry(Primark)
black and white striped long sleeved top(primark)
chunky long grey horrible shapeless jumper bought from Zara sale just to keep
    warm
Petrol Blue Pea Coat (Primark 2 winters ago)
    Blue anorak for walking (Primark)
    navy track bottoms
    black yoga pants
    too many sports tops:o
    trainers
    Black wool "reefer" jacket (Primark)
Brown skirt with purple floral print
Blue dress for going out in the evening with black tights
Tartan "Christmas" dress which the shape does nothing for my shape
Black tea dress with cream collar (Primark)
Purple patent pumps from Clarks which I love
Black patent Mary Jane pumps with heel (Asda)
black riding boots (Zara, four years old and ready to be replaced)
Ugg a likes (Primark but might invest in the real thing)

It needs some work but I am not going to be impulsive and would rather go without than waste money not buying what it right.

I also have some bits and bobs that I leave behind at my dad's to wear when I am in England around the house but they don't fit in with my capsule wardrobe, in fact I left them there because they clogged up my capsule thinking but they are still perfectly wearable. I am ashamed of myself because I only bought some of them as recently as January sales:oThe England wardrobe also includes a floral dress from New Look which is slightly too big, about four pairs of jeans mainly loose and boy fit and a handful of tops in colours that don't do much for me including beige and pastel pink.

So much to say, could we please have a dedicated forum?:j

Sharon, I have twin seven year olds and their wardobe is my next project. I am letting them "wear off" everything that they have and will start fresh autumn/winter as I hardly bought anything for last year's autumn/winter. I have to say fifteen pair of shoes is pretty impressive. I have just got rid of their winter boots as they are worn out and will be too small next winter and they currently have:

    2 pairs of trainers each
    1 pair of sandals each
1 pair of croc copies each
1 pair of canvas pumps each

They didn't need the extra pair of trainers, my dad treated them to some from Clarks when we were in the UK last month.

missm I like the sound of your outfit, fashionable but in neutral colours. With regards to accessories you have to be careful. I was looking at photos of myself five years ago when I first began to accessorize and what a disaster! Scarves, dangly earring, matchy, matchy overkill. Nowadays, I love pearls. I think one striking piece is enough with a simple outfit. Don't forget watches are also accessories or a junky bangle.I went crazy in my hey day though:o
