For all those who are interested in finding out which colours suit them, I found this recently: http://http://shop4prom.com/prom_colors01.asp
I'm a Summer but don't own a single pastel shade bit of clothing.

Bitsy Beans - you are not alone, we all have those phases and it is very normal in your thirties to feel unsure about how you should be dressing. I walk into shops like Top Shop and think "OMG where do I start?"
Sharon, the advice is great. Shall we all have a go at posting what we are wearing?
Today it is hot here so I am wearing a white vest from Mango and Khaki casual shorts from Primark with some bronze flip flops.
I'd kill to be able to FIT into the clothes in Topshop
See your white vest, khaki shorts and flip flops sound lovely but because I am no skinny minnie at the moment I'd just feel uncomfortable. I'd love to be able to get away with something like that. I have lots of lovely summer shorts I bought in Florida on my honeymoon but due to 2 pregnancies and baby weight not managed to get into them since
Anyway it was so blinkin' cold here today I wore jeans, deck shoes, white vest under a pale pink long sleeved and long length jumper. It's been well worn but the length suits me as it elongates my torso. Didn't accessorize but had pants sleep last night, got sore eyes, headachy so really didn't feel like making much of an effortI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

If I've read it right I think I am a summer too (being light blonde and blue eyes) but I do own a couple of pastel items, a jumper in a plum colour so perhaps I am sort of getting there........I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

What a great idea for a fashion section!:T
Bunny, try Monsoon for fabulous cardigans in every colour and shape. I think half my wardrobe is from Monsoon but I do adore the colours!:rolleyes:Penny0 -
I have had yet another ruthless declutter in my wardrobe but this thread has inspired me again to get rid of another dress and a t shirt. Both of them I got from SiL and neither are my colours.
I have mid brown hair and brown eyes. I have pale skin and can tend to look sallow. The colours I feel best in are purples, pinks, greys and browns. This is the colour of most of my wardrobe. Jeans are always blue though.
My exception to the rule is a bright red dress I bought in Matalan 2 years ago. It has bold white flowers on it and I wear it with a white cardi. It looks really good on me and I was surprised as it's such a strong colour.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
I'm really liking the posts on here, loads of advice, my problem is i have clothes in various sizes, as i lose the weight slowly after pregnancy and then fall pregnant again. Its all boxed into different sizes and i only keep the things i love and think i will wear again once they fit, finally got rid of the size 8/10, don't think i will ever be that size again. My size 14s were getting a little tight and then i just discovered a few weeks ago that i'm pregnant with no,3 now having to buy some normal clothes in a size 16 as i'm still too small for maternity clothes, they maternity things i have from last time are a maternity size 12 so will be no good. So i'm looking to just get a few things any suggestions as to what i should buy? i'm a sahm mum and do the school run, baby is due feb, once the cold weather gets here its easy i just throw on a big fleece, its all about being warm. I like the shops next and new look.
So far i have bought....
Couple of next vests
couple of cardigans some 3/4 length sleeves and some cropped, don't like showing my shoulders as i have acne scarring.
White linen trousers
dark grey linen trousers - not sure whether to keep
skinny jeans....not sure whether to keep
birkenstocks in khaki, silver and purple
huge across the body bag
cotton sun dress, for really hot day, will have to wear cropped cardigain
2 stripey over sized shirts to wear with leggings.
Already have a few longer loose tops, that i can wear with leggings/skinnies.
going out today to get some boyfriend jeans and maybe some cropped jeans. Need pants and bra too as all getting tight....0 -
missm29 Congratulations on your pregnancy. It sounds to me like you have enough to get through the spring/summer. Although I am a fan of my white linen trousers the dark grey ones are a practical option too as they don't get dirty so easily. Dorothy Perkins have some lovely soft Boyfriend jeans with turnups. No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30
