My problem really is that my clothes have become so boring and predictable. For example have got a nice unworn white linen skirt, perfect for my hols but am likely just to stick a plain tee shirt with it (YAWN)! Inspiration is what I need to make some of the basics in my wardrobe work harder.
Have just found this site quite inspirational, (ignore the prices), click on an item similar to something you've got hanging round your wardrobe and then get a series of different ideas as to how to wear it, what colours, accessories, shoes etc to put with it and to get a more contemporary look.

Bronnie, that's a BRILLIANT link!!:T I won some turquoise ballet shoes on Ebay yesterday (£12!) and have been searching fruitlessly this morning for other turquoise bits and bobs. This makes it easy to put in the colour you are searching for! I wonder if Gok and other stylists use this?Penny0

eyeonspain, so right about accesories, you can go overboard, less is definetly more. I tend to go for one sort of statement piece. If i have big bangle on, like today, my earrings are small silver studs with no necklace and vice-versa. I read somewhere that anything that is not keeping your modesty, is an accesory. And i think it was coco-chanel who said before you go out you should look in the mirror and take one accesory off. I too am a fan of pearls, very chic.
Regarding the 15 pairs of shoes, yes i know excessive, but 3 pairs were given to me by my friend who's daughter had never worn them. I like the idea of letting her wear the clothes that she's got out, don't know why but this never occured to me:T It just seems everywhere we go she see's something she just loves. I think i may start a capsule (oh dear, i am a bit ocd) for her. I darent add up what she has in her wardrobe, there is designer stuff and lots of next. It's funny, i think when i sorted my self out wardrobe wise i may have moved on to spending on her!!!!
I am just lovin this thread!!!!!

just wanted to add, I love gok, he is a god BUT when he did that style off thing with the blonde lady, i always preffered the blonde lady's clothes. I just thought, 'typical me , likin the expensive stuff' i now think that the reason i didn't like goks outfits was beecause there were just too much accessories going on.
Bronnie perhaps you could layer your t-shirt with another one for a bit of interest, or perhaps put a belt on to pull your outfit together.
missm, your outfit sounds great, how many weeks pregnant are you??

Sharron - I know I am getting a bit ocd too but I think it is a fairly healthy obsession:D I love it when I get donations for the girls. A friend of mine gave me a "Roxy" skirt and top with tags still attached which her nine year old daughter received as a present and refused to wear so I have put it away for autumn for one of mine.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30

So that's me!
ETA: I'm on the look out for 1 or 2 white t shirts or tops. I think I'll get cotton as they last better and keep their shape. MiL bought me a lovely one from M&S a couple of years ago but it was a 12 and I'm 8-10 on top. My children (1 of each flavour) both have capsule wardrobes too. I was really ruthless and got rid of tons of stuff from theirs the other week. I'm getting DH towards a capsule too.
I have found that doing a cull has had a lifting experience for my mental health. The washing stays up together because there aren't loads of clothes to do. The clothes we have are easier to care for and repairs are done more promptly now. Damaged/ non fitting/ unwanted clothes are easily weeded out too.
I think I will be telling all the family what my colours are so that if any of them decide to buy me clothes for christmas or birthday, I won't end up with unloved colours.
I don't buy "Cheap" clothes now. I buy what I like, try to get well made stuff and will invest in classic pieces.
I like french connection because they have nice long tops and I have a long body.
Well fitting underwear is a must. It makes clothes fit better and you end up with a smaller size!
I like ebay for other peoples cast offs. I've had some very good bargains and the things I've bought that I didn't like were cheap and can go back on.
I bought some Kurt geiger shoes on there for £27 and I love them. Don't wear them often as I don't go out often. Stil worth the investment though.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
