Hi everyone, just wanted to say a massive thanks for this thread, it's given me the kick up the bum that I've been needing for a long long time.
My clothing arrangements need to be seriously overhauled. I have more clothes than you could poke a stick at, yet I hardly ever feel happy that I look good. Have known for ages that I need to sort myself out and get organised, but have kept putting it off (aside from selling a couple of things on ebay, but that's just the tip of the iceberg). I lost a little weight a year or so ago, but it's gradually crept back on, so I have a lot of clothes that don't quite fit. Have stuff which makes me feel fat and frumpy, and stuff which I think is nice until I catch sight of myself in a mirror. I also have a lot of things which were mainly only purchased because they were cheap / in a sale.
I noted someone's comment (sorry, I can't remember who) that if you can dress so that you look nice at the weight that you are, then maybe it would give you the confidence to help to lose the weight that you're not happy with, so I'm hoping that this can happen for me!
I have started the great sort out last night (only 2 piles done though so far) and have decided my first sort through will be to sift out all items which I either plain don't like, or which are too worn out to be useful. I will then sort through again, trying everything on, to sift out items which don't suit or don't fit. (Although I may keep some things which are only just too tight - in a separate pile to hopefully encourage me to slim down). I have an idea in mind of colours I'd like for a capsule wardrobe, so I'll try to work towards that too.
Anyway, sorry for such a long post, but thanks so much for inspiring me to finally get on and sort myself out :Tmuch work to be done - new sig coming soon...0 -
Well done monkeymonkey, the initial start is always the hardest part:TNo Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30

Helloo, been a busy bee this morn, sorting out dd's clothes lol, will report later!!
Just doing domestic stuff today, claearing out, paperwork, dogs walked, school run/tea later on.
today i'm wearing black cropped trousers(next) Print tunic (new look, worn on saturday with leggins) purple vest underneath. birkys, longline necklace and pearl stud earrings. Threw my black cardi over to do the school run (chilly here today!!
Ubamother you sound very co-ordinated!!!!!
Sarah, my heels got ditched along with my suits, i own 2 pairs, 1pair of Karen millen killer heels, can't bring my self to part with them, only worn on my rare nights out, and a pair of grey patents from clarks(i think they are in my picture) these are not too hight 2 1/2 inches i think. I think once you become a mum, heels arn;t practical anymore, i meet myself coming back mostdays, i couldn't do this in heels.
Eyeonspain, sounds as though it's warm where you are today, you lucky thing!!!
Back after to let you know how i get on with Claudia's wardrobe, may even do pics!!

My mac was from primark  but it is fitted at the waist making me look like i have a figure! Covers up the bits of food/milk leakages from little one!
Wish i could wear necklaces/earrings but thats a no no for me unless i want to be strangled/have ripped earlobes!
BTw if you have a top or skirt you like the colour and it doesnt fit, make a scarf!
I love gok but i still disagree with him on counting shoes and bags in the 24 items!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Monkeymonekey, it was me who commented about the weight thing, i too could do with losing about 2 stone. I've had many a dark day moping around in frumpy/fat clothes. PLEASE ditch those clothes that make you feel this way and just sort out what you have and what fits NOW. Anything that doesn't fit(but you may want to get into in the future) put into one of those vac sacks and store the stuff away in the garage or loft. Make your self some nice outfits from what you have and identify any gaps, it may be a scarf to pull an outfit together, or a certain colour t-shirt. You can do this as cheap or as expensive as you want to. I beleive every woman should feel good about themselves, clothes are one of the tools to help you do that. If you look and feel damn good you can tackle anything!!
Lots of Love
