But i'd thought that each day for the next week or so i would post what i'm wearing and how it fits into my lifestyle, using the capsule, if anybody's interested that is!! I love this subject and i am in danger of turning into capsule bore:o
Okay today i took daughter to dancing, did supermarket sweep, went to m&s to get some school uniform for september. Came home, walked dogs, quick tidy round and am now sitting on my bum and hubs is cooking the tea (he does this most saturdays) Tonight i will be relaxing with hubs drinking some vino.
For this i wore: Skinny jeans(next), print t-shirt(tkmaxx) lilac belt(next) black pumps(clarks) grey mac(new look) print grey and lilac scarf(primark)grey patent bag(clarks) silver bangle. The weather has been p00 here today, raining and cold. I changed my pumps for wellies when taking the dogs for their run.
Lots of Love Sharron
I'm really enjoying your tips and advice Sharron so keep it up! Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your wardrobe, lots of great ideas. :T0 -
sharronloves2spend wrote: »ah bitsy beans don't feel sorry for yourself, i'm an apple too, yes i wish i was taller and thinner but that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. It really is about accepting what you have, and my attitude is that okay i can't have the body shape i want but i will be dressed well and co-ordinated. If i should decide to loose weight i will adjust my wardrobe then. Untill then i will be a well dressed apple!!! I think holding off looking good NOW gives out negativity. Why not dress yourself for the shape you have now, and tackle the weight later???? You can make your clothes make you fab today, but your not going to loose weight today. Your confidence would increase and it might put you in a better frame of mind to loose weight.
There seems to be a pattern of 30-somethings having a clothes dilemma, your not alone. Why not wear your jeans and usual t-shirt tommorrow with a nice belt and a co-ordinating braclet/necklace???? I bet it will make you feel better.
Love Sharron
Thanks Sharron. I just feel like the mom part of me is what ends up dictating what I wear. To be chasing after kids etc it needs to be comfortable but on the other hand I feel frumpy sometimes, like I've lost my way. I am not interested in being too fashionable but I want to be this co-ordinated woman but don't know how to start. How daft does that soundI just need someone to point me in the right direction. Please keep posting what you're wearing, it might inspire me to think about my own clothes more

Rebecca - I am with you on the shop scene here it is expensive (Spain) and from where I live shops are 30 -40 minutes drive away so not very cost effective petrol wise driving so far just for a ten euro top from H&M or Zara. I tend to wait until I go back to the UK.
Bitsy Beans - you are not alone, we all have those phases and it is very normal in your thirties to feel unsure about how you should be dressing. I walk into shops like Top Shop and think "OMG where do I start?"
Sharon, the advice is great. Shall we all have a go at posting what we are wearing?
Today it is hot here so I am wearing a white vest from Mango and Khaki casual shorts from Primark with some bronze flip flops. No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Wardrobe clearance continues:
Skirts and tops
Couple of work tops and skirts relegted to chuck out pile
Going out/weekend tops, black skirt (brand new with tag) and another dress (black) gone (don't fit)
A pair of trousers brand new never worn, a good colour in grey, only just fit, wrong shape, was ruthless and in get rid pile
15 items in get rid pile.
Feeling much better about this now. Not too worried about clothes going as I either haven't worn them in the last year or not at all. Not in a rush to replace as doing the 'Spend £100 on clothes in a year' challenge and only have £30-odd pounds left.
Need to think carefully first about what I need eg tops/cardi or shrug
Choose colours better eg soft blue, cream, white, pink and will go with many things I have
Couple of things I am not too sure about and maybe relegate on for work (?) and a couple in colours I won't get again eg bright orange. When they are over and done with they can go but still have some wear left in them. I've been dying to get rid of my black work cardi for ages, as soon as I find one in a more flattering colour it's going
Better have a rethink about the orange mac I have now!
27 items  ready to go to new homes.
I do feel free now and have started to see for the first time in a long time what colours look better on me.
The last 2 years I have spent in black mainly and most of my work clothes are black. Will wear them out and then replace with better softer shades.
Leaving trousers/jeans for another time and just old tops to sort out for the garden, cleaning etc

I am hoping someone may be able to help. I have two weddings to go to, one in July one in October, both require hats!! I would like to buy one outfit and wear it to both - how? Have looked in my wardrobe, done the Gok and realised bar my work clothes, which are not changeable, I have a couple of suits (also for work and refereeing) a couple of pairs of jeans and skirts etc, the majority of my clothes are black or sports kit - not ideal for a wedding, so where do i start? (if it helps on the advice blue eyes, ginger hair and am all arms and legs). Reading this thread and looking through my wardrobe has made me think I need to revamp totally rather than just sort out the wedding outfit.0

I have got the "Colour me confident book" from the "Colour me Beautiful" people and that is very good. It helps you work out which colour type you are and then tells you which colours suit you, much cheaper than a colour consultation. I have worked out I'm what they call a "soft warm".0

Where can you get this from and do you know how much it costs?

:pHello everyone, this is by far my fave thread atm. Eyeonspain, that would be great if everyone wrote what they wear, if anything it's a note to yourself as to what is being worn.
Fedupandskint, i saw your post on the graeat declutter, well done, and today you have done more:j
Ocemeer , where is your wedding? Are the same people going to attend? And what month are they?
Okay here's what i have done/wore today
Blizted the house today, stayed in my pj's until 12(cleaning done in my pj's) Then bathed the kids and got my bath, (done the de-fuzz, face scrub, paint nails etc) Got dressed done me hair. Done 5 loads of washing(drying now) ready for ironing later. Now we are going out to my friends for a quick visit, then home to make tea and do kids homework. The dogs will get walked after tea. The weather started off okay, but gone a bit miserable now. Tonight will be spent catching up with tele/relaxing before the mayhem of the week begins once more!!
I wore black leggins from new look, print tunic from new look with a lilac primark vest underneath. Silver toe-post sandles(barrats), silver earrings and a set of blacky/purply beads(primark). I will put my grey mac(new look) on when i go out and maybe my wellies on when the dogs go for their walk. I feel really nice today everything co-ordinated and fits me well:D
Bye for now sharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -
Ocemeer, i would start with your wedding outfit, don't worry about the rest of your warbrobe just yet. What is your budjet? I would maybe get a really nice shift dress in a colour that suits you, not too stand outish and not with any pattern. For the wedding in July wear it with a hat that matches and some complementing accesories, lucky you with long arms and legs!!, So show them off by wearing nice bangles and go for a neautral shoe.
For you wedding in october, wear the same shift dress but with a shrug or pretty cardigan. Try and get a hat with a detachable flower and then change it for the wedding in october. You could wear tights if it's cool in october. Another question how old are you?? I may have just recommended an outfit for a 30-40 something when infact you are a 21 year old in which case the above may well be too conservative. I'm guessing as a red- head emerals green would look fab on you
Lots of Love SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -
