Start selling small and work your way upto higher sales. That makes me think of a story I read about a guy who turned a paperclip into an house in 1 year :rotfl:0 -
I think it seems a bit cruel that people have decided to have a go at davidmoore83 when all it seems he did was post something that i think is quite achievable.
At the end of the day I don't think it is in the spirit of what this website tries to achieve.
So instead of trying to fing fault with his posts and have a go at him i am going to take up a challenge and try and make 30k in two years on ebay, god knows i could do with the money. Just so nobody thinks i have got money to burn i am going to start off with a nil balance and sell things from my house and then work from there,
I might even start a thread to keep up to date and show people that things can be done when you want to do things.Form is temporary class is permenent.0 -

WELL DONE DAVID MOORE
You're absolutely right that there's money to be made by 'just utilising your skills'. Your positive attitude should be applauded.
Like you, I bought a couple of books from Amazon (I don't trust e-books) and they helped me be more efficient, enabling me to actually increase my sales and put less hours in at the same time.
My profits from 2005 were £21,549
Profits for 2006 so far are £17,238
I started selling in 2003 and it has been A LOT of hard work. Nowadays it is less work for more money because I'm a better seller now than when I began. I also have a full time day job.
Many of us have times in our lives when we choose to make sacrifices (time and/or money) in order to build a better future for ourselves and our families. I suspect that such people are drawn to a website such as this. For the record, I think it is wholly inapproprite in this post to talk about people mistaking money for happiness.
For me, it is always a pleasure to listen and learn from people who are successfull. Good luck to you.0 -
Don't misunderstand me I'm not saying a good living cannot be made from ebay with some hard work, in fact I have tried to make that clear, I am merely disputing the figures and inconsistency of information supplied. Which draws me to the conclusion that, that information is not reliable.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

Yes it can be done, if you have the money available to invest and are prepared to work extremely hard. It certainly isn't going to come as easily as you claim.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I am with razorbladeksses and Ben500 on this. I do not doubt that 30K over two years is achievable, I know someone who does it. However it is the whole 'make 30k easily in your spare time' that I dispute. The person I know works a 50 hour week minimum for his 30K and often does nearer 55-60 hours. After tax and all other expenses he makes less than he did working 35 hours a week in an office.
He also suffered horrible losses one year when the area he invested in had the bottom fall out of it, and he was left holding thousands of pounds worth of stock that suddenly was virtually worthless. He did start up again but now finds that as soon as he gets a good line into the market his competitors move in and undercut him, so he spends all his time trying to stay one step ahead of the competition.

well done to you david, i know many people who make thier living off ebay, and have a pretty healthy living at that. i think some have other jobs, but its a market you cnt fail in.
I know a 16yr old lad who must make £700+ a month (probably more but i dnt wana overestimate) outside of school etc, not bad for a young lad.
I myself made £60 in 7days. Not anywhere near £30,000 but if i wanted to put more of my money in to my venture, i could rake out much more. Bearing in mind im at college and have a job thats not bad.
David poeple are just jealous. i know for a fact its easier than it looks, you just need a bit of money to put in, or to land urself material to sell.
Well done to you

That isn't true. If it was guaranteed that no-one would ever fail selling on eBay then everyone would be doing just that. Business fail everyday for numerous reasons.laura_marshall89 wrote:David poeple are just jealous. i know for a fact its easier than it looks.
I'm certainly not jealous of the guy. Claiming it is easy is such an understatement. It involves a great deal of hard work, long hours and dedication. Money doesn't come easy.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--
