Well you obviously have a lot of cash to put into it, therefore it probably does seem like easy money to you. For your 'average' eBayer it isn't so easy.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I can do the maths and after fees and taxes the return doesn't equate to the original figures we were discussing. those figures are after fees but yeah not before tax....but i do more than that some weeks so it makes up to around a good £10k in the pocket.
As for me stumping up cash....i sold some household junk to make £500 ish. I bought the first unit with that and then just kept on reinvesting the profit. These things take time but just so you know i had £0 in this venture at the start0 -
davidmoore83 wrote:depends what you sell! I'm selling cisco network equipment. Can sell units for £500 a piece having paid £350-£450 for each one. So per unit i am making £50-£150 profit.
I'll let you do the maths but i dont need to sell anymore than 2 or 3 a week
Thats one trip to the post office on a monday and upto £450 in the pocket every week
I did and they don't add up!
using your example 3 units at maximum profit per week is £450 multiplied by 52 weeks is £23,400 and not £30,000 in one of your posts you actually said yourself £10k was earned and not £30k, I realise your comment was "In a year or so" but wouldn't expect the reference "or so" to relate to the actual three months plus it does to factor in the shortfall of £6k. Unless of course I reference your post at 7.14 where you again state £10k then there is a differential of +£13.4k.
I hope you will understand why I am confused by your posts, I don't challenge your statements that you can earn a nice income from ebay if you put in the event and provide the very best of service, just the amounts quoted.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
well if you notice this thread was dormant for 2 yrs until today!
I made 30k in 2yrs pre 2004! Since 2004/05 i have averaged 10k a yr not 15 as i have opened other ventures for more income.0 -
I've just read this thread and although I didn't make anywhere near the 30k mentioned, whilst on maternity leave I made about £3.5k in six months. That was from stuff from the loft & charity shop bits.
I'm sure you can make big money on ebay but that would be time consuming and require you to have found the right thing to sell.0 -

It's not a long thread I have read it all and as I said the maths don't add up, you threw the challenge I accepted it and responded, as I said I fully understand the potential for ebay but your maths don't add up its as simple as that irrespective of when you made the post, your original post stated £30k in a year or so not two years. You then posted today giving your figures of how you achieved it followed by your statement "do the math"Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Sorry to be pedantic but 'make' inplies net profit and you admit you haven't factored in basic UK income tax plus any other taxes NI etc that selling so much might trigger.

BEN READ for gods sake! the original post was 2 YEARS ago! 30k was TWO YEARS AGO! Times change and as i said i NOW make around 10k.
I made 30k in a year yes i was merely stating if i can do that in one your average joe could do it in two no problem!
and to the other individual - I'm sure i just said sometimes i sell more than 3 units and hence the example i gave of 3 units is an example. Some weeks i sell 3 others i might sell 10 if i find a good supplier for stock! Hence why i will have 10k in my pocket after tax.
Jesus you lot just can't accept jack can you. Could have made yourself a few quid on ebay in the time its taken you to argue the toss here
