Strangely enough we had beans on toast for dinner last night @foxgloves, with a couple of sausages each grilled and added on top.2

I'm gradually weaning MrBC back on to more healthy food choices. Some tomato and rocket in our lunchtime baguettes followed by a satsuma. Little steps 🤷♀️

Happy New Year everyone
We stayed up until midnight watching trashy tv and with regular snack trips to the kitchen 🤣 The living room looks so tidy without the Christmas decorations. I'm glad that I put everything away yesterday so that we can start the year quietly in a clean house.
The HT requested a roast dinner yesterday evening instead of today so that is also done and out of the way. It will be something out of the freezer with chips and beans for dinner tonight. The HT's new chair arrived and has been built and put into use. I'm mostly going to do some knitting today and maybe make a start on the book of garden photos that I'm supposed to be making for best friend.
I haven't made any NY resolutions. I've made a list of words instead - things that I want to encompass in my day to day life going forward. One of them is declutter so I would like to make a list of how many things leave the house as inspired by the lovely @jwil 😊 I'm going to start small and aim for one thing a day I think. We filled this house when we downsized into it and we keep adding things. I need to do a tip run with the HT's broken chair but I'll wait until the Christmas rush is over.
MSE bit.....no spend day number 1
the freezer still looks full no matter what I take out
removed milk from grocery shop delivery (we have enough for now)
Take care all of you 😊

Happy New Year! Good luck with the goals
Hope the decluttering goes well. As you know I do a LOT of moaning about the 'stuff' in my house on my diary 🙄. Keeping track of what leaves is so useful as it helps me realise that I have achieved something rather than making no progress!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2 -
Good afternoon,
I've had a small declutter today.
1-8 goat photos and a sponsorship certificate for same goats, slimming world activity certificates and a 2018 calendar (it had goat photos on it).
9 - A box of "tipples" (smal cartons of mixed brandy and milk/cream for adding to hot drinks). I've no idea how long they've been in the cupboard but they weren't liquid any more 😟
I have some mending to do but I'm only going to fix one of the HT's fake oodies today. It shouldn't take long. I'm still feeling a bit "meh" from the cold that I've had since the 18th of December so I'm not tacking anything complicated. I have done some knitting.
MSE bit - we're still eating the christmas supplies of cheese and crackers for lunch. I had some little satsumas with mine. The grocery shopping was delivered this morning to stop me from buying yellow stickered things that we don't need in the supermarket. I'm £18 under budget for this week if I don't buy anything else.
January NSD days - 1
Take care all of you 😊6 -
Well done on the decluttering and NSD"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney3

Thanks @jwil
I am so tired today, I didn't fall asleep until 4:30am and I was awake again at 9am.
Today's items removed are
10 - double duvet cover
11 - pillowcase
12 - microwave wheatbag rabbit
13 - megaphone that best friend bought me when I had my knee op, for calling the HT if needed 🙄 (why, just why?)
14 - black cardigan
15 - man's belt (too small for the HT
16 - Time Lord (Dr Who) magnetic photo frame
all in charity shop bag
17 - cat ornament
The cat ornament went in the bin as it has some vital letters missing that make it no longer a thing.
Today was supposed to be a no spend day but the HT had his university disabilty assessment which took an hour over the phone (the lady was lovely and very thorough) and best friend is still poorly so when I was out getting throat lozenges, nice to your nose tissues and menthol sweets for one I bought some doughnuts for the other. You can probably work out which is which. We have fought so long and so hard for the HT's diagnosis that it was a lovely change to have the person on the phone ask the HT if he was having problems with the exact things he finds hard. When he was finished he said that it made such a difference just to be believed.
MSE bit - lunch was more cheese and crackers and the last of the salami, dinner was entirely out of the freezer (braising steak, mash and veg).
I have joined the "no more buying craft stuff" thread on the craft forum. I have a lot of yarn to get through before I need to buy more and a fair bit of it isn't my fault.
Take care all of you 😊

Great that HT's assessment went well, that feeling of being believed is astonishing. When I had my PiP assessment I was so relieved to be taken seriously but also so sad that it was so different from my normal lived experience for decades. Hopefully they'll be able to include help for him lugging his laptop back and forth4

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds, he has been given 40 taxi rides per uni year minus the normal cost of his travel.
The HT was stressing about his exam yesterday so we went out for some fresh air and a coffee and a toastie for him. I went in and fetched it back to the car then we drove a little way and had a car picnic on the prom. He arrived home in a much better mood and looked at the things he was stressing over again. I made him explain them to me and while doing so he spotted what he'd been doing wrong so he's happier..
Things out to charity shop
18, 19, 20 - double duvet cover and two matching pillowcases
21 - kingsize cotton sheet in a strange orange colour. Ordered during covid and looked pink on the website. I should have returned it really but lockdown was a thing. It's not been used and my bedding is now blue because I decorated.
22 - pack of hot pink leopardskin patterened emery boards. I have no idea where they came from or when.
Things out to bin
23 - small colour changing orb that neither of us knows where the charger for it is
24 - sheet of unused labels for my mini hydroponics system. I have no idea what they are for
That'll do for now. I may look for more later, I may not. I need to go and buy best friend some cold and flu tablets. I took him the last of our last night - he's really not well.
MSE bit - The HT paid for the coffees and his toastie.
Cheese and crackers for lunch again today 😁
Take care all of you 😊7
