Hello peeps,
I woke up this morning with a cold. Just the very thing for Christmas..... Fingers crossed that the HT doesn't get it. I don't feel too rough (yet) but it's definitely stalled a few plans. The good news is that all the Christmas food (mostly snacks for the HT) has been gathered in, I have paid for everything that was bought so no surprise credit card bills and there was even a small amount left from the Christmas and birthday pot to start off the pot for 2024.
The freezer is very full so plenty of proper food and I just need to make mince pies tomorrow. I was supposed to do them yesterday but the HT was having a meltdown about his java programming assignment and required moral support. The person that was supposed to teach him java at college sat in the corner of the room saying nothing. The "tutor" was eventually moved from their class after a group of them went to see the head several times but that was too late to do anything productive and the HT and the others that have gone to uni from college are now finding themselves at a disadvantage. Hopefully he will catch up.
I asked the HT if he wanted me to buy us matching pyjamas and he said no so when I found them cheap enough I bought them anyway (Asda sale yesterday). If they amuse him half as much as the thought of the look on his face when he sees them is amusing me then I'll be happy 🤣🤣🤣
Take care all of you 😊

Hope you feel better soon.
Can't wait to hear about how HT reacts when he sees the pyjamas"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1 -
Hope you feel better soon, zinc and vitamin c!
Fabulous work on having paid upfront for all the Christmas food and having money left over for next year's pot!
It was definitely the right call to have bought HT matching pyjamas even if just for your own amusement 😁3 -
ROFL at the matching PJs - well worth it to see the HT's face, I bet!
Good luck with getting shot of the lurgy and not passing it on elsewhere too - it is very much the season for them, but also just the time when you really want it least!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good morning,
I still have whatever it is lurking in my respiratory system but I'm doing better than my cousin who is in hospital with flu, a chest infection and a blood clot. I am at least home and mobile if slightly slower than normal. The HT has had it too we think although his was a two day cough and he's OK now.
It's nearly new pyjama day 😁😁😁 If the cat can wear a Christmas jumper then he can wear Christmas pjs although to be fair I think it's the "matching" bit that he has an issue with rather than the actual concept.
Due to my dislike of crowds we already have everything in that we need for Christmas already thank goodness (and probably a fair bit that we didn't exactly need, we just wanted). I've shuffled money around in some of my pots this morning and I've rechristened the now defunct Christmas 2023 pot as "Ebeneezer". This will be where any spare cash that I can squeeze out of the other pots goes to. It doesn't have any other purpose other than to gather money and I've started it off with £25. Thinking ahead, January is a five week month so I've allocated five weeks grocery spends money but I'll be disappointed if I use it all. Likewise I've allocated five weeks petrol money but as the HT isn't in uni until the 15th of January I probably won't use all of that either. It's all about staying out of debt and living on a reduced income. The HT still hasn't touched his maintenance loan by the way.
Take care all of you 😊4 -
Hope you're able to take it easy and keep on recovering today.
Your poor cousin, how miserable for them.
Love the Ebenezer pot 😁2 -
Sorry to hear about your cousin. Hope you all continue to recover.
I also like the Ebeneezer pot."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1 -
Sorry to hear about your cousin, I hope you both make a full recovery very soon.
I like the idea of the Ebeneezer pot - but I now have The Shamen's song in my head 🤣
Well done to the HT on not touching their maintenance loan. Is it in a high interest account?

How awful for your cousin especially at this time of year.Laughing at the matching PJs 🤣 I bet he won’t post a photo of you both on social media 😆
Hope your lurgy is short-lived and you feel better soon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
