The ducks are adorable indeed - did you say they were crocheted or knitted? If the former, where did you find the pattern please?
Also - and again with crochet in mind, do you have any reliable “go to pattern options for Christmas decorations? I’ve made the attic 24 baubles, and some dinky wreaths, and I’d like to do some more but struggling to find any good latter sources for relatively inexperienced crocheters! (My phone wanted to autocorrect that to crochet ears! 😂)
Very glad to hear that the HT will pull through after his nasty case of traumaticassignmentitis! 😁

The patterns are for different sources. No idea if they're free or paid for as didn't look just did a quick google!1 -
@EssexHebridean the assignment due in yesterday was even worse than the previous one but it has been done and submitted (programming circuits or some such thing I think). The duck with the frog hat link is

I don't have any Christmas patterns - I'm going to look for some myself. The best Christmas things that we ever made ourselves were the ninja turtle baubles. Twelve large green baubles, 24 large googly eyes and 4 colours of ribbon. Glue ribbon around the middle of the bauble and knot at the back, glue on two googly eyes and hey presto, ninja turtle bauble. I think we made them about 9 years ago and we gave a fair few away but we do still have some of them.2 -
Thanks both!
Cranky - the baubles I've made from the Attic 24 site - I can confirm that they are both easy and very effective once done!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@EssexHebridean I've found a really easy decoration. The only difference is that I've sewn a gold bead above the bow and used narrow ribbon rather than yarn as a hanging loop.

The HT has submitted a slightly less difficult assignment than the one he did last week so the atmosphere here is much happier. I proof read it and pointed out that he hadn't answered the last question at all - luckily before he submitted it so he fixed it and off it went.
I've been doing the grocery challenge which has stopped me from buying a load of rubbish that we don't need and won't want to eat over Christmas anyway. I've been baking more and trying to make a little bit of space in the freezer. That was working ok until I filled the space with frozen carrot mash which is the only veg that the HT will eat. I'm thinking ahead and he is not having a Crimbo dinner without any veg at all 😁 The cake tins are reasonably full (I have lemon drizzle and the HT has brownies) but the biscuit box needs some attention. That will be a Saturday job though as today is a cleaning day.
MSE was making the whole lemon drizzle recipe and putting it into two cake pans instead of a traybake. One lot was handed to best friend as a birthday cake and the other one is mine, yay! Also next door's cat was sat on my back doorstep this morning so I gave him the cat fud that ours didn't eat overnight. It was gratefully accepted because he isn't as fussy as our furry little monster 😁
Take care all of you 😊5 -
I think having carrot mash in the freezer for HT is a good move. It is good that the grocery challenge is having a positive effect. I like the sound of your bakes and good thinking of making 2 lemon drizzle cakes.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thank you for the Xmas decoration link. I watched it with my eldest granddaughter (age 11) and she picked up her hook and within 10 minutes had made the candy cane which I was really impressed with. I'm going to make the wreath tomorrow and I hope I'm as competent as she is 🤣4
