  • I'm glad HT had the good sense to cancel his card, better safe than sorry.

What are they like 🙄 Glad he found it though, at least he knows no one dodgy has picked it up.
I know - I insist that he keeps most of his money in a separate account so if he loses it properly there's not enough in there for any pin free transactions to go through.

He actually asked me to cancel it but I was out with my friend and couldn't get into the HT's account anyway so I told him he'd have to figure out how to do it himself. Luckily he had some free time in college to do it.

You have given him an opportunity to learn a valuable lesson 🤗

  • I think sometimes you can just reactivate the cancelled one? I’m sure in my Monzo (which I only really use for pots) there’s a way you can stop and then restart your card. So if it’s mislaid, but not 100% stolen you can stop it while you look. I could be making this up, but I’m sure I saw that 😁

  • @WinterWarrior, H@lif@x have a service like that as well. My middle child has had to put his on hold a few times while he tries to locate it in his cesspit 🙄. But it will depend what HT has done, he may have cancelled it proper.

@CRANKY40 it may be worth investigating whether HTs account has this for next time but well done him on working out how to do something. Good life lesson.
  • You can freeze Mastercard issued debit cards but not Visa ones I believe. Clearly I’m aware of this after my own “lost card” incident last week… 🙄😂

  • @EssexHebridean, the H@lif@x cards are visa debit cards. The app gives you several options.

Ahh interesting - Sant-And-Er only offer freeze options for the debit cards on Mastercard ones. N@t1onwide only offer a freeze option on their credit cards I believe.

  • It’s weird the way different banks operate so differently from each other when obviously the technology is available.
