Sorry that you've got extra worries, Valli x
This made me laugh this morning - highly recommended reading if you've got boys in the house!
My plan for today:
- Do all the things off my list that I didn't do yesterday except giving Rosie a bath - by the time I could have done it yesterday, the heating was about to go off and she would have been even more miserable, so I just did her anti-flea and will bath her before DD&co visit!
- Tidy the whole house so that I can clean all through tomorrow
- Do WMx however many is absolutely necessary
- Go to the PO, CS and MrAl
- Put up some more coloured lights outside (it's amazing how much the white "snow" lights lifted my mood yesterday afternoon as it got dark)
- Rosie's walk
- Pick up the Chinese meal we've ordered for this evening from a lovely young woman in the next-but-one street who started a Home Kitchen business during lockdown, cooking the food she grew up with, and hasn't looked back. She's now also cooking for parties in people's own homes and offering one-to-one Chinese cookery lessons
DH is still spotty and scabby, but not in a terrible mood, thank goodness. The antiviral meds seem to be working fine, without side effects so far

Morning all.Final skip has been collected. We managed to add 5 car loads from our garage.
I’m off to DG’s to meet an estate agent to get an up to date valuation. Then off to ds2’s town to attend a job centre appointment relating to him. We may pay him a visit if he agrees. He was abusive on our last phone call so we shall see.
I have taken DH to work this morning so I can have the car.10 -
Iona.. that is great news, I hope he continues to improve quickly
I have a terrible tummy ache this morning.. I have not been eating carefully, I have eaten anything and everything and now I have to eat sensibly again because this pain is not welcome and is entirely my own fault..

So pleased your vouchers arrived Pigpen. Congratulations on the win.Ionafan, terrific link. My new mantras for sorting out the permanent chaos on this house are all hers - trash first, duh donate, where would I look for it first, take it there now. Dana K White is my lifeline to sanity. Two batches of crabapple cider and orange jelly have been boiled up, first load is in the jelly bag draining, second load will be drained tomorrow. Sink degrotted while the gloop was simmering, and two kitchen drawers were turned out and cleaned after that. 22 jars have been washed and are draining, so that when I come to boil it all up tomorrow they'll be warming in the oven. The crabapple, orange and cider jelly is the favourite 'jam' ever of the friend whose partner died about four weeks ago and we're haivng lunch with him on Sunday so I'm making it for him really. After that whatever crabblies I have will be made into plain crabapple jelly. There are still masses left on the tree for local wildlife.Better is good enough.9

- Saw workplace student this morning.
- Went to funeral. Horrid. Former work colleague of Mr N, not 60. Brave daughters said a few words in eulogy, held it together but were in complete bits. Nice to meet up with other former work colleagues though - except the last time we saw some of them was another funeral. Swiped my track & trace as I walked through crematorium door and got message to say I'd been in a place where someone MAY be infected - isolation not needed but test recommended.
- Went to Mr A on the way home.
- Then to Mr T. Sent Mr N to pharmacy to get test kits as we'd used our last few last weekend; QR code 'not recognised'. So I summoned up the last bit of power in my phone to have a go: success.
- Got home, later than planned, did a frantic unpacking and putting away of food, turning on heating, aga etc, cooking dinner, doing Covid tests, contacting friend we saw on Sunday then BIL to report our tests were negative. Just as well as my DB had been in the Peak District for a couple of days and was coming to stay for the weekend - had visions of turning him away on the doorstep.
- read solar meter, input reading on web site
- caught up with emails
- paid for another 6 swimming sessions.
Now attacking either another report or writing summary of today's session. Or both.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok today. Well done Piggers.
Booster jab today, dog walk and lots of flying as MIL is coming to stay in a few days. Well that's the theory anyway, I'll report back later.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.12
