aw Kaz - I'm made up for you.
DD has done housework 'to keep warm'.
meanwhile, at the chalkface , it has been 'A DAY'...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Great news Kaz.
I gave the cooker a clean and then got lost in my book which I'm returning to shortly. See you all tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.12 -

Brr. Frosty - so glad I don't work on a Monday - the car looks well frozen.Oh believe me, it was!! I pushed the 3+” of snow off last night, which helped. Just the ice to go this morning. Got it all sorted, when a neighbour drove past and offered me a lift to save me braving the roads. Rude not to accept 😉. Welcome to the tropical south west, folks.
Thank you for the lists, late one from me, but I am in.
Kaz - so chuffed to bits for you both. Huge, huge hugs, it’s been a roller coaster xxx
Iona - oh no. Nothing else really I can say. I hope you stay well clear of it, and that DH gets quickly over it with as little discomfort as possible. Hugs and more hugs xx
DD asked if she could come home unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, and we had a lovely evening altogether. We drove her back to uni city late last night. Similar to YL, it is weighing heavy that a year ago her life took an unexpected and unwanted turn, and we have the hospital visit to contend with in a couple of weeks, and again early in the new year.Tomorrow is a non work day, and I am meeting a friend for coffee / cake / lunch. Did somebody say Slinky22 😳. We haven’t seen each other for 2 years, so we have to make up for lost time…
Flying…well, I have put the towels through the wm tonight, reheated a prepped dinner, WULTD, tidied the kitchen, and swept the kitchen floor. I need to meal plan for the week, just possibly whilst catching up on Masterchef.11 -
Been busy day supervising workmen in the Skint Pit...the kitchen had a few bits of gibble removed and surfaces s&s.
Back tomorrow xxxThe cold never bothered me anyway11 -
Fantastic news Kaz.
I can't believe we're on page 3, I can't even see what I last posted as I'm sure I did.....after Mr N and I did a housework blitz on Sat am as BIL was visiting.
So....BIL visited (good time). Had Covid booster (bad cold shivers with headache for 24hrs not helped by going to London with Mr N, BIL and meeting London friend for lunch, wildlife photographic exhibition then wandering round Xmas lights all in about zero degrees).
Today I felt ok, bit tired and arm still aches but went to uni and did an assessment, fortunately lovely lady student.
Answered never-ending emails and in a heroic moment, agreed to do a remote assessment on 20 Dec which is the day before we go down to mum's.
Builder couldn't come and lay patio slabs because of icy temperatures.
House still tidy and pretty clean.
One load through DW and WM thanks to Mr N.
Please find me some Slinky22 willpower.
Christmas card writing progressing slower than I would like.
Big Give tomorrow so that's a few pressies done.
Rather a pathetic day on the flying front, a bit embarrassed to post really.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Meh...
*snuggles down in comfy chair*

Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.
I am seeing both DGDs today which is ok as I gave the cooker a quick clean yesterday! Also need to walk dogs and get admin up to date. Oh and spend some time with DH.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Morning all
White stuff has gone for this time around. Am up, showered, hair washed and dressed, ready to go out in a bit. Time enough for a 2nd cuppa and a pain aux raisins which I “found”. Narc0 - slinky willpower? You and me both.
A load is in the wm, yesterday’s towels are not yet dry so this game of line Tetris will be fun. I need to change the bedding when I get back, and make a start on the dreaded car insurance renewal.Back later xx11 -
Thank you for the best wishes, OH and I haven't celebrated, as we are just so relived it is over, done and dusted in 7 months or so, it has been horrendous at time, but we are though it, other people are not so lucky chemo goes on for years, we are drawing a line under it and going to plan what we are eating / doing over the Christmas period.Ironing is doneKitchen is semi doneTriplets fed / trays done / toys got out from under units al la Madonna style!
I have caught cat 2 helping himself to their toys, no wonder there are so many out when we get up.

So, so pleased for you both, Kaz.*Healing vibes* for Mr Ionafan.I'm up for Slinky22. I'm gradually getting to grips with my sugar addiction but the weight isn't coming off so I'm going to have to up my game in January. I think I might have an idea about how I'm going to do it but I haven't really thought it through yet.The plumber was here yesterday and our central heating appears to be totally out of whack but I haven't been able to work out quite what's happening or gone wrong. It's sorting out that kind of thing that takes hours which drives me up the wall. Whenever we have work on the house it's two steps forward and one step back. *sigh*I managed to do most of my filing yesterday but the In Tray is teetering again so I think I'll see how much of that I can clear today. My Room of Doom is seriously stuffed to the gunnels with Frogs that need to be done urgently, are a bit done, are half done and are cluttering the place up.Laundry needs doing despite the forecast, the kitchen floor needs a sweep and wash, the sink and hob are too grotty for words but at least the bathroom's sparkly because I did it before the plumber needed to work in there.Better is good enough.12
